Lewis Hamilton endured perhaps his most painful race of the season so far at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Briton had to settle for ninth after a pit-lane start.
Hamilton had originally qualified seventh but Mercedes opted to change his power unit, incurring a penalty that dropped him to the foot of the field. He struggled to fight his way back through the pack.

Lewis is no longer an asset to Mercedes, their priorities are set for GR. This show how bad/unprofessional Toto is as an owner. As long as Lewis is still with Mercedes, he is still a team member, they should work as a team, not to place all benefits only on George Russell. Well, his selfish act will be a disadvantage to their construction standing...
Toto has definitely gone down in my estimate due to the way he has been running the team this year.
Toto is shared owner of the team so such decisions are very important for their sponsors.
Mercedes as a team to show their sponsors that Russell is the future going forward.
This qualifying battle which Mercedes need to show the world that Russell is better but that's not the case as regardless of the help given to him,he seems to go backwards and only move forward when there is issues up front.
They wanted Russell to be on equal points with Lewis so that the last few race Russell will get more help.

51 laps is a short race to take a penalty. You do this at a 70 plus lap event. LOGIC
