Well, you handled that good Dale. I had that happen to me in a Cherokee once. Just fly the airplane. Another pilot in the right seat said he'd get the door for me before take-off. My fault. I never let anyone touch the door again for thirty years. Thanks for the short ride along.
Been there. Done that!! Caitlyn didn’t completely close the door on my bonanza once at KCLL and it popped when I put the gear up. Good job managing it. And great job being patient while the long winded guy was going on and on with tower! Lol. Note to new pilots…. This is why you keep it short when on with tower. Someone else may need the freq to manage a situation!! Stop acting like you’re reading a damn book on the radios!!

I've had this happen a couple of times over the last 7 years, it's time to get the latch replaced.

Well in his defense, he was having a transponder problem too, when it rains it pours....hahaha
