He seems to have developed a strong habit of doing what Stern does: Make content by making fun of your employees. This means that if they do what you made fun of them for not doing, to keep content generating for the show, you now have to make fun of something else. I prefer Conan being self-deprecating. Picking on your employee's for you to make money doesn't feel right to me. That said, most of it is still funny, but Conan is also hilarious when he isn't being mean to them. So it really isn't needed to be making fun of them and putting them down all the time.
@@LincolnWorld I don't agree. Conan only does this to some of the employees who's comfortable/having fun getting ridiculed. So on being an “adult” - the author CS Lewis said it best: “Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” Yes I get this is a comedy bit, but also - LET BLEY BE BLEY!
It's a cute thought, but the reality doesn't always match up with fantasy. I work in a very serious field, but I'm still a kid at heart, and I try to have fun everyday, but there is a limit to what can be done without affecting other aspects of my life. The only people that can truly afford to be kids all the time are celebrities and people in mental institutions.
@@mediocreman2 Good for you being in a “serious” field - and if Bley were in that field, the expectations might be different. But you give less Fs about whether others perceive you as “adult”.
