So, well... I'm very proud to present this gameplay. I thought: "Hey, my Extra Stage video is so popular! (lol xd) Nearly 30k views, nearly 300 likes. Maybe it's time to make a step further in that insanity..." - And I made this one step. But this step was quite... hard to make.
Okay, seriously: After number of tries I managed to clear, without continuing, game on Lunatic! (Not really shown on history counter - some accidents with deleting game files etc.)
Moreover, it's done with (probably) the hardest character to play with - i.e. Marisa, which is actually a hard-hardmodo. When I had to completely give up, I tried the last time. And then - it happened! Got the run! ^^
Why it's a (much) harder challenge?
Well, Marisa has a very narrow shot area (Sanae has a better situation there). She hasn't got homing bullets which could help her with a small shot area (Reimu has got). Also, she isn't a Patchouli with her overpowered deadly shotgun (or laser blast, varying on a focus state). Also, Marisa's high speed isn't helping at all... The only pro here is her very high DPS (but still Patche has better lol).

✪ About the game ✪
TouHou Fantastic Danmaku Festival is a fan-made EoSD remake made by StarX. We have four players to choose: Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame (hard-hardmodo), Sanae Kochiya and Patchouli Knowledge (easymodo). In game we meet characters from EoSD, but in Stage 1 we have Nix (or Nyx) instead of Rumia, and Patche is replaced by Koakuma in Stage 4 (the mid-boss here then is Sakuya).
It contains the DDC mechanism, but we have to destroy certain amount of enemies in a short time instead of collecting items above the POC. Then items are being collected and we get bomb or life fragment. You need 5 fragments to make a life or a bomb. After every stage you can get a score multiplier (x1.07, x1.24 etc.) basing on how much bombs or lives you lost during that stage. When 4 life's or above, you don't get a bonus. When 8/9 bombs or above - the same.
Overally game is harder than official ZUN's games, especially difficulties Hard and above. Extra stage is also very damn hard.

But I pretty much watch all of the lunatic perfect runs a couple of times each on every game so I know how hard each game each
Patterns may look easy on screen while a pro does them, but to do it yourself you will need tons of practice. Card may look difficult, take 99,9% of the screen but be streamed with a tiny sidestep. It is like 'maze of love', I thought circling is piece of cake, until I reached it myself.
Yeah, goddamn practice. It's like a PCB wr by yusuke - when you watch it you just can't believe it's a living person playing...
The way you move Is unreal.
Makes me wonder how It feels while playing the game at such difficulty.
Is it me, or is the spell card at 19:00 more like something Reimu would do, rather than Sakuya, timestop omitted.

I can understand why they didn't simply call it EoSD HD, what with all the drastic changes, including Rumia being removed entirely, in favor of this new Nyx character.
And no Patchouli

Also, I get that this fan-remake is likely very little known, but it's very disappointing that there's no fan art or hentai of Nyx. There is some general fan art for more recognized fan characters like Sendai Hakurei no Miko, but still no hentai.
Is Nyx not just Rumia without the amulet sealing whatever the hell it's sealing on her?

Is Marisa really hard-modo?
I was under the impression she was the 2nd strongest character, only beaten by Patchy. I will have to confirm this.
If anything, her extremely high DPS helps a lot in taking Remilia attacks down quite fast. And at the end of the day, Remilia is the biggest trouble in this game so...idk, I honestly would hardly call her "hard mode". Sanae and Reimu would be the hardest IMO. They both struggle a ton on killing Remilia, and since all of her attacks are completely brutal... yeah. Marisa at least kills them quite fast.
Also, somehow managed to deplete the Survival HP bar a bit at 23:20, lol.

The issue is she uses a frontline attack, which is incredibly difficult to deal with because you have to fly in the middle to hurt them. Not to mention she has really fast movement, which is both good and awful for this, because the slightest movement can kill you.
in original touhou, whenever i use a bomb....she always turns into a vampire (immune to damage until bombing ends)

that was my favourite and first touhou game i played
i started at EoSD until i cleared easy with full continues just to realize that i have to 1cc normal to unlock extra so i decided to buy this game instead.
@@smilinggeneral8870 i begun on normal not because i think its sth bad on easy but out of ideology but i didnt know what about 1cc or anything so i fought my way to remilia but i made a mistake and continued but then i did the extra hardcore training always on lunatic it was hard but i managed to do my 1CC but i dont know my coudin can take it but ill help him so what is the easiest touhou to start up with

Honestly, I might agree as well. The FDF games are so we'll made and polished... I still like IN (8) and MoF (10) a lot, but FDF games are amazing, I think the music is the only thing they might envy from the originals/officials and even then the music is super good anyways.
@@dr_uboI agree with with you, though I'd go as far as saying that I personally prefer these remakes 100% over the originals. Me not liking PCB is a big hot take and I'll respect anyone who loves that game, but I don't think it's easy to deny that EoSD hasn't aged very well compared to TH07 and TH08, even if you really like it. Its overabundance of RNG hell Spell Cards, wonky artwork, and locking the player out of Stage 6 in Easy mode (which makes that game really hard to learn btw, speaking from experience) makes that game hard to come back to when the rest of the franchise exists. These remakes are very faithful to the original, while adding a lot of new stuff and tweaking some of the flaws the original games had, especially this game, which, while the patterns are harder, I'd argue they may be ironically easier in the long run because of better consistency. It also makes the game less frustrating, at least for me. _Makuka Sai/Fantastic Danmaku Festival_ was clearly made with respect and love towards the o.g. games.

Download links from there, unpack in order they are posted there. Then you should install XNA Framework (or something like that), and use a program to change locale to Chinese (e.g. AppLocale or LocaleSwitch, it should be somewhere on the net) and launch the game with that. Otherwise it won't work. Nice playing xd

A canon barely explained character, thank you very much. Either way Rumia still got some info on her in the later stuff like the grimoires, so it's still more than, let's say, Koakuma.
@@daractive4936 I respect your opinion, and I agree that it is quite strange they did essentially make store-brand Rumia, but if they were going to cut any character, I'd rather it be Rumia or Daiyousei than anybody else because they have the least amount of canon information in relation to popularity out of the original cast, even with later additions to the story. Also I personally like Nix more than Rumia as a character, so I'm not unhappy about the change, but I'm pretty sure that's also a hot take. I'm sorry if I came off as rude, I shouldn't have phrased it that way.

I've not played a single Touhou (I'm TOTALLY serious) but I can affirm that Extra Stages haven't a choice of difficulty
After Koakuma patterns become really hard, but you get too much lives, bombs and deathbomb time.

Actually I think that Marisa isn't the hardest character to play as in this game. She does a ton of damage to bosses, who are the main challenge there, stages aren't that hard. Also, UFO on Lunatic is more difficult than FDF imo. But nonetheless you did a really good job. Congratulations ;)

+CreepyNinja_ I found Sanae to be pretty weak in general. Reimu is good on stages but sucks on bosses. Marisa is average on stages and good on bosses, and Patchouli is good on both stages and bosses.
So here is my list from strongest to weakest imo:
Patchouli, Marisa, Reimu, Sanae
+Scarlet Moose Well, it's your opinion. IMO it's hard to explain, but if we "stay" on your list, then I would make Reimu and Sanae equally weak. Sanae isn't so weak in general - it varies on a tactic, because you could move chaotically, left and right, and you spam the entire screen with her exploding bullets. Also, bombs exchange (3 fragments for bomb in unfocused mode, entire bomb for a shield) is another thing that can help if well used.
But, it's just an my opinion, and it will always be.

There is something I don't understand...
You say that i'ts your greatest challenge, but, as we reach stage 3, the spell card history shows 3, so you reach that point in 3 tries, and when you beat the final boss, you have 2; how could you say that was extremely hard if three serious tries was enough? That's my problem. Did you practice a lot (And I mean a hella lot?)
I know the game is way harder than the touhou series, and you had picked up the hardest character to play with, but 3 tries isn't a lot! Okay at the beginning it was around 25, but i'ts the begining, me too I always reset when I do a mistake at the start (Cough cough UFO stage 1/2...). In your extra stage (The one with reimu, the second one) you beat it in 17 tries. Given the difficulty of the stage, that's normal. But here i'ts not!
(Btw I'm curious by how you've captured Remilia final, I was not expecting that lol)
+Balneor Going by the spellcard history isn't accurate at all. Obviously the final spell isn't going to record any attempts if you don't MAKE IT that far to begin with (the final spell in almost all clears is only going to have 1-3 attempts), and more importantly it only shows attempts with the character being used (Marisa in this case).
+Balneor The first thing is that I don't practice only in home so these times doesn't count to the history counter as well. Second, one time accidentally I deleted whole the game so the history too (so, it isn't accurate now). That's weird, I know xd
Third, I tried many times Sanae, Reimu and Patche, but Sanae at the most. In total from these three characters I got about 20-25 additional tries. Maybe it's still not too many, but trust me, I trained many times before (I cleared the history after because of too many failures).

The part about deleting the whole game and losing history is enough to suffise me, and i'ts fine to say that after re-downloading the game, you got this very soon.
Clearing the history? That's not my style but fine, you do whatever you want.

however when I was talking about 3 tries on history, I meant 3 "serious" tries. The first 25 were "preparative ones", as the name says, i'ts about trying to get an decent starting run, to make it though stage 3 in a "serious try" At least that's how I see it. So, the fact that you have to make it that far, is not enough to make it look like i'ts very difficult to achieve. Maybe you could say that was very long to make, and then I would agree.
Then, if the attempts are in fuction of the character you take, then why is it that he captured the final spell (Which mean that he have finish the game since i'ts the last one), and we have "this" run instead where he doesn't capture it? Of course I do not know how, I haven't played the game, neither do I know if there's a spell practice. So I can't guess. Needless to say, that's pretty curious.
As you say about the accuracy of the history, you're probably right, just by seeing Creepy's comment on this.
I'll stop here, I think we'll have enough of this sooner, as the problem is already resolved.

+Elfin Mint Well, I know that games. "Too easy to 1cc because of broken mechanics, too hard to play seriously". I'll think about that and, if I play it, I'll try to balance those issues - because it would be too easy to spam e.g. supernatural border through all stages.
+CreepyNinja_ Then theres white names spoiled past that game feels similar to imperishable night and I dunno hopeless masquerade combined. Thing is the story is that two gods have chosen gensokyo as their latest battlefield. Apparently an incident occurs where the village is unable to create memories and obviously you know who decides to step in but they get joined by 3 gods as well. Sanae B is said to be quite powerful in this game. Here to enter the extra stage you need to do some puzzle solving. The puzzle solving is that you must arrange each character and both of their playstyles in the order each one took place. Also you must reveal the culprit here. Heres a hint its one of the partners that the three protagonists team up with. If done right you unlock the extra stage.
The first Bullet hell game I played was just three days ago and it was Mystical Power Plant. Was it too hard to start off with? Well...in stuck on stage six in the easiest difficulty.
