I love how gi is getting more love this year
Beautiful performance. Go team new wave 🌊 🎉
🔥🔥🔥
Imagine Nick lost and becomes a junior like taza
taza is not a junior though
@@rtasi2000he lost, so he is a junior😂
This was a great event
Yea I thought so
Mr. Authenticity has a price!
It was nice to see Hugo use a sub I use on the regular recently. So sneaky. Peeps don't see it coming. Super tight and nowhere to run.
How does he teleport to standing at 23:08? Why cut important parts out of the match?
Submission only would be better!
What submission did Victor Hugo pull on Monteiro in the first match? It looked like an ezekiel from the back or something. He seemed to put his hand on Monteiro's collar and his other hand was somewhere else.
It's the ezekiel choke counter when people turn away from your head and arm choke. Works great in both gi and nogi.
1. Keep head and arm submission position while opponent turns away from your body.
2. position head and arm "biting" hand on non "biting" arm's bicep
3. place non "biting" arm's hand in a blade position along near carotid opposed to "biting" arm. (covering the far carotid) similar to an ezekiel choke.
4. Sink in and finish.
@@randomd00d17 great description. i learned something new. i appreciate it, cheers!
Imagine beating Victor Hugo, who outweighs you by 35lbs, and then saying that while this was a good performance, it wasn't the level that you were looking for, and you need to get better. Amazing.
nicholas is fighting in the gi like it's no gi lol
How weird is JD ⚡️
Monteiro match seemed so easy to the point it almost looks like dude didn't even try to retain his guard.
Y’all think Danaher be shrooming
Def with that rashy😂😂😂
Meregali is such a herb
👏👏👏👏
Please IBJJF get your shit together with the names on the board. Just write what the athletes want instead...
$40k for 1st, $8k for 2nd is kind of shitty lol. Also, I never would have guessed Hugo was roughly 265 pounds
Agreed 👏. Was totally thinking the same.
why are they wearing samurai uniforms
Because your mom likes it
Attending the cosplay convention, look out for the ninjas hiding in the bushes as well. They usually wear no gi
@@MrMystery13 I hear the Santa cosplay is the most dangerous of them all
How does Nicholas Meregali & Victor Hugo compare to all time goats like Buchecha & Roger Gracie? Who would win in their prime?
Buchecha beat both of them, meregali on gi and victor hugo without. That said, i think meregali is more technical than him. Meregali almost won and was like 25-30kg's lighter than buchecha. Roger is the best of them. Prime roger >>> prime Meregali > prime buchecha > prime victor hugo.
Beautiful answer, thank you!@@DavinoPoker
So glad Gi is dying so we see less and less of game plans based on points and stalling
Which I am aware these two both submitted every fight until last, do maybe I'm just full of it anyway, I just really dislike the Gi practitioners attitudes (meregali, that other nitwit that Gordon literally retired back into the GI at adcc 2017 , via guillotine after flipping him btw, etc)
Cornelius is the name, damnit. I just want Bteam vibes over these ego maniacs. Really sucks that we can't combine Gordon skills with Craig's ... everything else
Oh and not so sure about Nicky Rod's attitude UNLESS he's pointing it at Gordon. Only then do I dislike either of them less really
Just talking to self for le álgorithme
@@erdngtn9942 Bteam vibes are the best
