You're right. I am 70 years old. I got bored being retired, so I started a TH-cam channel a year and a half ago. After 2 months I was monetized. The channel keeps growing. When I started I didn't even know how to edit video. My son helped me figure it out. You are never too old to do this.
0:05 "Our kids are off to college. Our careers are winding down"... I'm 39 and just had a baby less than a month ago, and just started a new career three years ago.
@CreatorLater Same here! My glasses reflect objects, too! Keep going with it! As long as I can HEAR your videos; that's most important to me! Thank you for your content! I'm 48 and giving it a try also! You have a new subscriber, friend! Blessings!!
You got my attention when you said “Aloha” 😁 -did you or was I imagining? Anyway, I am one of the Gen x Yoitubers / I was just musing about this in one of my “walk and talk” videos recently-
Love this message Roby. Probably Baader Meinhoff Syndrome (elephants everywhere) but it seems like I see a lot of older content creators! Some of them making good money. Happy to join the ranks and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Great video. There is so much untapped potential out there for older creators. You may have motivated me to resurrect my own channel. I love your delivery and how you tell a story.
Roby, I just missed being part of Gen X, but after two combat deployments, I feel a bit older than my years. So, I give myself a pass to watch videos and enjoy content from creators who are a bit older. Excellent video by the way.
First off, thank you for your service. Thank you for the kind words on the video. There are lots of older creators making great videos. Ageless TH-cam!
Wow, your message really resonated with me, Roby. I feel like we're on the same stage of our lives. I did reflected on a few of the same topics you just mentioned on my latest video. Just because we're "older" than the current generation who grew up with the internet and technology, that doesn't make us "irrelevant". On the contrary, we have a lot more to offer, just like you said. Really enjoyed watching your video, and will watch more of your content. Thanks 👍
First of all, $525 for 60 minutes. Thank you for making that very clear and straightforward at the link. I'm 52. That's a lot of age-based assumptions. I don't buy it. Sure, some 40+ year-olds have uniquely interesting knowledge or skills, but not to any greater degree than their younger and more attractive competition. The truth is it's got nothing to do with age. It's charisma, skill, and attractiveness... Is Dr Mike really the best doctor on TH-cam, or just the best looking? Are people really tuning in to SSniperWolf's channel for _that_ content, despite numerous reports of her fraud and other misdeeds? I don't think so. And, in a lot of cases, it's diligent, persistent, prolific content creation. Successful TH-camrs are often working 60-80 hours a week producing content. Can you do that? I sure can't. Some of the other claims made here aren't consistent with the stories of other TH-camrs. Algorithm changes, disproportionate treatment compared to more successful creators, and other problems I don't even begin to understand... There's a reason that many are quitting and most others are loading their videos up with product placement, interstitial ads, Patreon requests, sponsors (sometimes fraudulent), a variety of their own products, and occasionally an "OnlyFans" page. It's really hard to make money here.

Well said. You're proof that anyone can do this.

So, you created content about creating content. :)
It's a thing. I've bought courses on how to make courses.
