It’s so easy to watch your videos from start to finish without skipping. I’ve been watching so many car channels on TH-cam for many years and yours has become my favourite. Awesome content as always 👍
Yes certainly watch all the video from start to finish. THe video with your special characters certainly liven up the video, my favourite is the detective lol !
Incredibly mature and calm attitude to the £300 lesson ... sometimes those expensive lessons are the cheapest in the long run. There's a lot of value to be had from making mistakes!! Great video!
Mat.....you're an inspiration bruv. The balls you have just to crack on and get a motor fixed is something to admire. I've got a Mazda and I brick it just thinking about trying to service it myself. Keep up your brilliant work Mat!!
Mat. It's amazing how far you have come in such a short time period. Wasn't so long ago you had 3 cars on your driveway and working outside in all weathers. The S5 And Bentley were my fav from that time. You deserve all your success..
Just the mention of "Dash out" it makes me shiver, most people would moan and complain that the dash has to come out, but you are so positive. Another fantastic video, im really enjoying the C63 re build, - I'm sure it will end up with a super charger ;)
Hey Mat. Word to the wise, avoid the Ferrari. Even from new they're riddled with electrical problems. Not to mention after market parts. Ferrari have a very strict network
Mat, those door glass replacements were textbook. I wouldn’t have done anything different myself… I was an automotive glazing technician for over 10 years and well versed in mechanics. Keep up the great work man. 👊
Whatever about the "car stuff" (which is great in itself), Matt has the TH-cam video format down to a T. The pacing in these videos is spot on, and things like the mysterious wrapped package at the end to make people come back and watch the next video. Hell, this is probably the first time I've ever watched an ad without skipping it, having the ad about what happened to a Ferrari is absolute genius! Fair play..
Well done Matt ! Amazing progress, there won’t be a car you can’t fix soon with this amazing learning curve you are taking us all on. Love this build but also very excited if you get that crashed Ferrari next !!!
I just started watching your videos today. I have a few words to describe your work my Matt. You're the man!!! Your technical judgement and your professionalism is amazing! You got a loyal follower forever. Regards from Toronto, Canada, God bless!
Great video Mat, little tip for the dent damage on the passenger seat . Put a damp (not wet) microfibre towel in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and place it over the damaged leather leave it for 5 mins and the dent should be gone , if not do it again until it is removed. Make sure you treat the leather with some conditioning creme .
Love these videos Mat! Gave me the confidence to change my throttle body yesterday, something very easy to change but I use to be shit scared of changing anything, even a light bulb... always going to the garage to get it done but now I'm starting to tackle problems by myself and I recommend it to everyone to at least give it ago
Keep it up Mat. I've made mistakes like that before and it's sickening but keep it positive mate. You've learned something and you get to upgrade your wheel 👍
Loving your videos Matt, first started watching for the E46 and have been making my way through your playlists. With the C63 clock spring, it can be fixed. I done the exact same to mine a few years ago when i had the rack disconnected. Snapped both connectors for the steering wheel controls and airbag. You can scrape back the the plastic coating on the ribbon cable to expose the bare copper and solder it back on. It's a bit of work but at the time i could source a used clock spring and a new one was over £500. Looking forward to the next video. 👍
Love your video. Just two comments. No1, i did the same thing when i changed the steering wheel on my honda civic, it was so bad every time i turned the wheel the bloody horn went off! No2 I kept asking myself why didn't he remove the windscreen when removing/refitting the dash as it would have be so much easier and you would have to have replaced it anyway! But then i thought Why pay autoglass twice to come out to remove then come out to relace. You saved some money that way young man.👍
Been watching your channel for a long time now and can honestly say you have come along way. Remember when you were super nervous doing the littlest mod and now your tackling every job with great confidence.. and I’m probably not the only one who checks TH-cam daily for the next video.. keep going mat.
wow good job on that dash, what a huge job! Don't feel back breaking stuff, I learned the hard way how delicate the posts are in the intake manifold when I replaced the injectors, very expensive mistake!
I love watching your videos and progress and what I really enjoy is your commentary during the time lapses. Sets you apart from the rest Matt 👍👍 keep up the fantastic work buddy
Great job there, coming on nicely. Bad luck with the steering spring but it one of those things that nobody would think of. Use it as a way to improve with the newer wheel.
Never mistakes Matt, balls and courage to acknowledge what went wrong is why you are a big hit, and you have surely helped thousands of us out watching and learning from you! Great work as always 👍
Hey Mat, normally i do not often write comments but i got a suggestion regarding the broken steering wheel. I saw alot of videos of upgrading a 2012 c63 to a 2020 c63 steering wheel. I think this would look way better than any other steering wheel and makes the car feel like a absolute new car. Greetings
Great vid Mat...... C63 looking sick....... regarding the possible intake, that would make it sound unreal...... or did you subliminally drop a supercharging hint🤞🧐🧐
Well done Matt, there was a lot of work for you in that video. Its never easy changing a dash so I can imagine the issues you encountered on that one. Getting there slowly slowly, keep up the good work.
if you need to replace airbag box, you dont have to removve dash, just take center console out and disasemble both sides in the footwell area there you can access it easily :)
Would like to see you; • Restore a classic car • Create a mad jacked up off roader • Do an engine swap • AWD drivetrain swap onto 2WD • Supercharge AND turbocharge combo something NA • Create a liveable campervan
And here I am waiting for tomorrow so I can work on a golf 4 🤣 watching you working on a amg ... not such a big difference tho ! Love the journey on this car !
Still smiling after a setback in time and money. Inspirational for those wanting learn how to tackle head on life's ups and downs. This car will still be a beast, shame its not AWD because it will want to return itself to Copart UK. Keep smiling Mat.😁
While the dash is out maybe consider installing an Apple CarPlay / Android Auto module to the stock screen and buttons 😉 also the scrolling button’s shaft in the center of the car tends to break, you can find stronger metal replacement shafts, maybe also consider doing this while everything is apart 🙌
Coming together slowly, seen another TH-cam video on changing the clock spring ribbon don't know if it's possible with this but worth looking into. Keep up the great content 👌
Top work as ever! Scary to see 'my' car with no dash, I certainly wouldn't try that! Feel your pain for the clock spring, hope you can find another and keep the original wheel
The clock spring can be repaired, I repaired mine on my mk6 golf. Its not paper but a very thin wire harness... Strip it apart and resolder the harness to where it has snapped from module 🤷
The clockspring doesn't care how many times you spin it....when I had my rack loose in my personal C63 I lifted the car on the rack with my then 14yo in the driver seat so he could orient the wheel when I was reinstalling.....BUT....of course when I stood up with the rack the end of the shaft was spinning at about 800rpm as my son was SPINNING THE WHEEL LIKE A TOP!!!!! I was certain that it had trashed the clockspring but that was 3yrs ago and everything was still good to go
The metal riveted panel in the door gives me shivers, having just changed both regulators on my TT I can only imagine the pain if the regulator broke in the c63
You have a patient of a angle to do a job or work like this is be pulling my hair out and how you remember where everything goes amazes me keep up the good work
#18:20 thankyouu😂😂 some of us know fa about cars but your really factual when putting them together. Its really interesting all of a sudden like about the steering rack. Dont stop!!👏🏻👌🏻
I’d say £300 is worth it to not only know you will NEVER make that mistake again but you’ve taught literal thousands of people to also not make the same respect. Swings and roundabouts lol. Your loss is all of our gain so thank you!
My clock spring broke on my car and I replaced it with a new one from Mercedes, at that point I hadn't started looking into upgrading the wheel - how I wish this video was out back then, would have saved me a few quid!
I'm sure changing suspension components and subframes are way trickier, but its seeing you do the full-dashboard replacements that make me anxious. It looks like a horrendous job to do.
Loving the journey mat great content. Would be good to see the parts before starting the work on the cars as in buying it from auction and getting it back etc. would be keen to see how that all works. Keep up the hard work 👊🏻
The most expensive I've ever made vehicle-wise was putting RD 500 YPVS valves in Caustic soda overnight for cleaning. Dont do that. They cost 300 euros to replace.
Do you any regulations regarding verhicle safety in the UK? In Germany, Austria, Swizzerland etc. you would get a lot of trouble with tinted windows in the front or catless downpipes.

One of the best natural presenters on TH-cam...
One criticism mat these videos aren’t long enough could watch them for hours ✌️ keep smashing the content love it
Wow! Really great progress. Can’t get over the sound of that engine.
Snapped a clock spring once and learnt like yourself
Great advice to anyone 👍🏻 well done matt
Mate, the love you have for C63's is crazy!
Bounce back game strong. Minor setback - Major comeback
With this type of job you can see how easily a car can be written off. The amount of labour alone! Great work Mat.

Awesome job on the C63!! enjoyed the episode and indeed sometimes things go wrong and we lern from that ...

The later steering wheel looks nice so hopefully the loom wiring is the same for both. (Are you keeping the car to the original colour Mat?) ..
You make it all look so easy now, should
Have smart repaired the dash would have been good to see how you done it, not seen it much before
Great progress Mat
Really enjoying the C63 build Mat 👌
Glad you got that free steering wheel from MP. 👍 Saved a few bucks (aka quid) there! 🤑
Great work Matt and very entertaining

Great video, probably most excited bout this build, can’t wait to see the end product

The clockspring is same as a normal c class will cost about £80 i made same mistake on my c63, also seat airbag is replaceable.
Iv been looking forward to this car for weeks
Awesome Mat
The most expensive I've ever made vehicle-wise was putting RD 500 YPVS valves in Caustic soda overnight for cleaning. Dont do that. They cost 300 euros to replace.
hey Mat. you can get android upgrade for this car. new screen with everything. but the original radio works. and the buttons in the steering wheel
