Wicked amazing sound. You've just changed my opinion of this bike. Sounding like this might make it the reason to finally buy over the mt 09 because with that sound it is now better at everything.
Thanks Alex! Later on while I still had this bike, I swopped the slip-on to the original baffle but still with the Decat. Which in my opinion made the sound even better, spitting flames and stuff too! 😎👍🏼

Bike sounds good but I'll leave mine with stock until I can figure what sounds best for me. The Akra IMHO don't even sounds good. People just flock to it because of the name, but unless I'm tracking my 890r it may be a waste of money
Before I sold my bike, I swapped the Slip-on to the stock exhaust together with the decat-pipe, which made the bike go both smoother and better. Still with great sound!

Yes, that’s correct. But of course it will probably be the best it you dyno and tune it

Thanks! Yes, I went to my local KTM dealer and had the Akrapovic Evo map installed.
@@FLXIGN Did they charge you for that, I just put Leo Vince Twin Pipes off my 790 onto my 890 R gunna see what time it runs over the Quarter Mile at the Drags Tomorrow
@Duke Of Twist - they charged about 60€ to install this map. Please tell the times you got on your runs!
@@FLXIGN I ran a 12.2 last weekend in street mode stock pipe. Today in Track Mode & Leo Vince LV10's ran an 11.6. Bike only has 2,000 k's and I'm yet to try launch control as my 1st ever drag pass on my 790 I binned it on the start line thinking I had launch control active (but didn't) - video on my channel lol

I would highly recommend that you remap, when you put a Decat on. 👍🏼
do you think its a good sound level, not too loud, but loud enough? IXIL is the only decat I can find with a supressor in it, the rest are straight pipe, so im not sure if its worth the price difference to fit this decat and not having it too loud
No, it's definitely not too loud. There's like three different kinds of inserts to the IXIL slip-on, so you could vary how much you want it to sound. But together with a decat pipe, I had all three in all time. Tried removing the big baffle once with the decat, and holy f*cking h*ll 😂
On the other hand, I would actually just go for a decat pipe, together with the stock silencer. And get a nice map installed - not the Akrapovic which I had. Something that suits the bike and that setup better. Plus it sounded much nicer with that kind of setup, which I ran the last month before selling it.

I currently have a replica Austin racing slip on, I want to decat and I don’t mind if it’s loud but im trying to avoid REALLY Loud, I just don’t know if the baffle in the decat will make that difference for 200$ more
@@MikaelAbehsera it won’t shoot flames with all those inserts in the Ixil slip on. Hard to tell if it will be worth it, since I would have done it differently if I still had the bike

Why did you get rid of it?! I just picked up a 890R and waiting on MNNTHBX to send me my kit.
I’ve had 6 bikes in five years. I like to switch things up and try something new. I currently ride a Yamaha XT660X -06 and a BMW S1000R -19 😎👍🏼
@@FLXIGN Ok, that makes sense. How long did you own the 890R for? Did you run into any issues? I only have 200 miles on mine so far.
@@PhysiqueSteve I had mine for 9 months. I didn’t have any problems with it, I think it felt like a bit too small of a bike for me, it felt a bit unstable when I got high speed. But that’s the only negative thing about the bike for me. Otherwise I loved it on tight curvy roads and on track 👍🏼😎
@@FLXIGN funny thing is you’re 6 foot so it feels small, I’m 5’6 so the seat height is a bit of an issue for me, but since it’s so light in weight, it’s easy to manage.

The mapping didn’t change any of the pop’s and bangs 😎👍🏼
@@FLXIGN I installed Akra map today with arrow decat + db killers into my spark exhaust and it does not pop and bang like before ;/
@@ewyna4380 that’s strange. When I look back at it, I would’ve done it differently and taken my bike to someone who could make a custom tune/map instead of this Akrapovic map.

Didn't know the difference between a baffle and a db-killer at first. The setup I was running was only with the baffle in it, that came with the slip-on.

I think it will still be better to just run it with the cat also so it doesn’t have any backpressure issues etc.
