This was THE best explanation of the Mithraic cult and mystery religion in general. Gosh, I hope this channel will continue on without Nick. He’s very much missed….and Mithras knows that Nick’s energy continues on for all the ages….forever as we know it.

Ever notice how Jewish nationalism against Rome and Greece gets mucho respect from all youtube experts but Roman nationalism, here, oh, they were nutty to defend their city.
I think the idea of underdogs, grossly outmatched numerically every time per your example, is always culturally compelling. What's so great about a trillion Persians or a trillion Romans steamrolling some Anatolians or Gauls? Now, the stories of those Greek colonies or Gaulish freedom fighters, those are stories of bravery. What is more interesting, tell me: the Romans figuring out solutions to problems, or those same Romans utilizing those solutions in routine ways? Considering the winter and summer solstice sets on the astrological constellation at dawn, it might make sense that Mytrhos is also the sun. Constantine possibly was a part of this secret Astronomical cult. Perhaps Constantine calculated a comet or an eclipse and leveraged it as divine intervention, and won the undying devotion of his soldiers as well as opposing soldiers. Just a theory. @Boxcarcifer oh my gosh! no! the Last Supper was just a symbol of how when Jesus rises again, his spirit will live inside of us. Hail to the Gods of Rome and Italy!
Great video ive learned so much thank you
It’s weird how you can tell so much about about the author but still very little about the topic from lectures and even books like these
Summed that up perfectly.
This guy sounds so bitter about everything that he's talking about.
He's surely a Christian.

Sounds like being that person would be exhausting.
It's not "bitterness": it's enunciated consonants.
Plus the microphone and recording is hissing the "s".
Nice lecture, though I suspect he assumes a lot about what's going on in the minds of people in antiquity..
So cool and brtaut0n.
