I can relate to this guy’s story about having a two-faced religious father. My father is a religious fanatic who is also the world’s biggest hypocrite. The way he behaved in front of religious friends was very different from how he behaved at home behind closed doors. He would go into explosive rages on a daily basis. He was unfaithful to my mother. He would always find fault and sin with every little thing I did and made it sound like it was the end of the world. I felt like I was a total screwup. Unless I drew nature landscapes, my father would always somehow manage to find the devil in my artwork. He would then go ballistic on me for helping Satan and endangering the whole family by bringing Satan into our home. He terrorized me so much that I got PTSD and stopped doing any artwork. I’m in therapy but I still can’t bear to draw even nature landscapes. There should be laws to mitigate the severity of religious practices while still respecting freedom of religion. People shouldn’t be allowed to do whatever the hell they want under the guise of religion because there will be abuse, particularly towards adolescent children.
I'm sorry for what you been or are still going through! You are strong and beautiful inside! 💜🌺 You deserve happiness and peace in your life. I also have ptsd from abuse and have also stopped doing art, I try and try and just can't anymore. It makes me terribly sad and broken
@@bulletsfordinner8307 Thank you for your kind words. It’s so sad what we went through prevents us from doing what we loved to do. But at least we know we’re not alone with our struggles. Maybe some day we can do it again. Who knows what the future will bring? ☮️

Other people in this thread are artists who also went through abuse that affected them. We have every right to use TH-cam to talk about our experiences and support each other. It’s not about how you do things. Your apathy also says a lot of your character.

I had a parent who was one mask in public and another at home too. I am so happy for him to be his true self and feel the freedom to make these amazing art pieces .

The one thing I hear is how Christians are fanatics that call people sinners that are merely hypocrites. Yes there are those out there that might fall into that category and it puts a bad image on Gods love. We are all human and created by God and we all have His love. We are the sinners no matter what your background, sex, color, or creed. We put the bad into this world. God didn’t want robots He gave us free will. To choose to love Him. We are in turn supposed to love others the same way and love ourselves.(not in a self serving way) Christians sometimes forget this. Sin is bad and it’s wrong, but we are supposed to love the person and hate the sin, and forgive others because Christ forgave us. I hope you all have a blessed day and know that God loves you. He merely wants you to come to know Him and He wants us all to chose Him over sin, but doesn’t cast you into hell because you sin. He gives us a chance to inherit everlasting life.
