After I tanked my T-37 Mid-Phase Check ride I had to fly two review rides and an Initial Progress Check. This is a description of those rides, the actual re-check and what I took away from it all.
What a totally goofy / expert instructor ! You are so right ! Our Lord and Friend sure can work In mysterious ways ! May God bless you guys and all your folks . That man was just the Person sent at that particular time to assist you in a very important phase of your career . I know that you assisted others along their journey but … to what end , only God knows -- It’s really interesting , isn’t it ? Thanks for your insight and stories - You remind me of my father . Bob - Over & out ----
I like your commentary on your T-37 training as, I, having been an instructor pilot in a T-37 at Moody AFB (May '67 - Sept '69) and my last year (Sept 69 - Oct '70) a Check Pilot at Columbus AFB, brings back a lot of memories. At almost 83 years old it is all ancient history now but I can still remember the special procedure for a spin recovery.
If my stories can evoke "fond memories" for you, then I feel I have accomplished my mission. Russ Sweets, my Tweet IP, isn't with us now but I think of him frequently. He wasn't much older than me so I reckon you would be about his age. For "all of us" who you flew with you guys, Thank you!
I tried to fly every mission the way I was taught. Sometimes it didn’t work out and politics came into play. Always had the best copilots, navigators, boom operators. Likewise when I flew RC-135S, the flight crew and backend crews all were the best.

Great stories! I was wondering how many hours pilots did in the T-37 and T-38 before graduation?
