Watching this now because we just adopted it into our school, but it has been updated so much. The second grade books don't even have fish on them any more.

"We do the work so we have a one stop shop and not have to search for it in the curriculum". Shouldn't the curriculum BE the one stop shop so you don't have to search for ANYTHING unless you want to and have time? Teachers are superhuman I swear...

I am using wonders with grade 2 and I am really having a hard time covering everything on time. There are 6 reading and writing units + literature anthology+ practice book. I only have 9 lesson a week to cover all that. what's the optimal time to finish a unit?

Do you have time to fit in all of the Wonders curriculum plus guided reading groups?
Most of it, yes. We do an hour of guided reading at another time of the day and I do 30 min writing block almost days as well.

Are your slides available on tpt? Maybe I missed this in the comments already. Moving from 5th to 2nd this year. These are wonderful and I would definitely pay for them.

We are adopting Wonders 2023 for the next school year. A few years ago, my colleague and I created an entire word building curriculum to go with Journeys. We would do word building on days 1, 3, and 5 so basically 3 times per lesson. Because we will be switching to Wonders, all of our on-level text we created to pair the CVC words we built and the sight words introduced in Journey's is completely off. They met with the reps today to decide which components we are ordering and I asked our team leader to please get the sight word list so we can start adapting all of our word building curriculum to match Wonders. She said that the rep said that there is plenty of word building and we don't need any more resources. Can anyone help me out with this? We worked so hard a few years ago and have seen great success, I'd hate for our students to regress. Plus I don't want to be blindsided in August! Any suggestions would be great!

I think you should learn how to talk less at the beginning of your videos. Some of us just want to see how use the book
