Also have hyper mobility and have had 4 back fusion surgeries. My SI joints started to really hurt and I had ozone prolotherapy in my ligaments (which is horrific to get ) but once it heals it eliminated most of the pain most of the time. Might be worth exploring for your shoulders to strengthen ligaments. :)
I’m 65 years old, and I still have to hold something when I sleep! Usually it’s a pillow. So please don’t feel bad for doing something that brings you comfort!
