My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy because I binge watch videos like this and I want to learn woodworking skills. He jokes and says he's going to buy me a circular saw for father's day. All I know is that he better stay true to his word. You guys inspire me and you're local so can refer back to your videos and use the same resources when I get started. I plan on making something simple to start: A small entryway table preferably with a live edge and hair pin table legs. Wish me luck 🤞🏾
Great video and thanks for sharing the written article with the walk through. I am planning on building my first cabinet this week and this is very similar to what I was hoping to do.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection th-cam.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
So I didn’t realize you had a TH-cam channel until it showed up in my recommended feed just now, but I actually used your plans to build our changing table a couple of years ago after my wife found them and asked me to build it haha. Nice work on this bench and you’ve got yourself a subscriber :)
Yes, we wanted the thick slab look and could't find a slab with live edge straight enough and long enough for what we needed. But we have a desk next to this that we will be using the live edge on from the same tree.
@@rogueengineer ok that makes sense. You didn't want a glued up seam and for it to look thicker. It just looked off in the video without an explanation
That's a great job. The only thing I would have done differently (and it's purely a personal preference thing) is put a space between the two center drawers. I would have used that space to install a new electrical box and outlet, and run wires through the middle so that I would still have access to that wall outlet.
Looks so good. I really like the top you went with. How do you open the drawers w/o pull knobs? Do you have special hardware that pops the drawer open?
It’s beautiful, I wanna make one like this for our house. What model paint sprayer are you using? And can you give a link to the drawer box maker? Keep up the good work
Hi! Great videos, thanks for making these! Quick questions, you mentioned that you drew a sketch on the computer to get the measurements of the pieces you needed. What software do yo use?
Looks awesome. Are the feet extended a bit to account for your drawer front or are they flush with the carcass? Also, how wide were your cuts for the platform? Thanks!
Charles he has a graco tc but I would recommend get a titan 440 is a little more expensive but the finish will be a lot better than what he got the finish he got is no good but the builds he made makes it look dope 🙌
How to make stuff: Step 1: Garage with Thousands of Dollars of Tools I'm not mad at ya, I just realize I'll be buying stuff because I my house doesn't have a good space for this, much less all the tools...
Interesting projects, but with most of your other videos you really don't give much instructions and rely on a lot of special tools and products you obviously get for free which none of us have.
You can do similar things with limited tools. I’d say stop complaining - if you want to build something like what he builds, you’ll find a way regardless of your tools. Or start building up tools slowly.

Sounds good, good luck. Make health and safety your number one priority, your wedding ring will always look better on a hand with all its fingers 🤟😉
Well howd it go? Are you a woodworker now?
Great video and thanks for sharing the written article with the walk through. I am planning on building my first cabinet this week and this is very similar to what I was hoping to do.
Younger woodworkers use the floor. Us older guys use sawhorses. :-) Thanks for the video. I picked up some good ideas!!

Thank you so much for naming the paint color I hate it when people dont do that nor answer people that ask.

These videos are super helpful thanks.
Hoping to build my own workshop in the summer. I would love to be able to build stuff like this in there.
You bought a live edge board only to cut both live edges off? Or am I missing something?
Yes, we wanted the thick slab look and could't find a slab with live edge straight enough and long enough for what we needed. But we have a desk next to this that we will be using the live edge on from the same tree.

Love the base color and the build is pretty straight forward. Thanks!
Thanks! It's called Cracked Pepper from Behr
I am so glad I found your channel

Thanks! We are waiting on the drawer pulls so right now we just pull from below which is less than ideal.
It's so cool how you can make something so pretty
I wish to see the list of materials used on all of your projects moving forward for a complete tutorial :) thank you.

Brave track saw cut taking that slab in 1 go.
What’s the brand of the paint sprayer that was used? I was viewing that right, battery powered and no cords?
It's a Graco Sprayer. Uses a Dewalt battery.

Wow 549 little pricy
Looks great, guys!
Thanks bud!
DAP is great! I Prefer the non-silicon version and it really helps cleanup wood trim in our house.

Looks fantastic!
Nice work hopefully when I hit the number this will be in my new house
Where'd you buy your cabinet boxes from? I'm around Detroit and would be interested to know where :-)

I always look forward to these videos!
Thanks Lee!!
I love this bench, how can I get plans ?
Love your videos! Do you have the rough cut plans? They’re not on your website.
Happy New Year. Just ran across this video wanted to know where you purchased your drawer boxes from?
i think you meant to say a planer sled, and a planer. router sled is on rails on a table
As soon as i heard carcass i had to leave. Not bad but i couldn't stop laughing.
Amazing job.
The bench and lockers from the other video look amazing. Do you have a materials list for the bench?
Hi. Love your work. Very inspiring 👍. Would you be so kind to tell me the color of paint on the mud bench? Thx!!
Looks great. Can you tell us who made the drawer boxes for you (I also live in the Detroit area) Thanks!
Thanks! www.elliottwoodworking.com/
@@rogueengineer color me surprised! I would have thought Ann Arbor Doors & Drawers (I relocated from Dexter to Houston 2 yrs ago)
What type of oil did you use on the top of your bench?
Had to laugh. The entire discussion about the mating edges and how to achieve it was filmed in front of the jointer. LOL
Imagine if they had just bought two 2x12s and saved themselves 75% of the time and money of this project.
This looks great!
Thanks Angie!
Very COOL!
Great video!
What did you use to finish the slab that gave it the matte look?

Like from Moscow Russia 👍🙂
Great work. What's the name of the song at around 4 minutes
Looks awesome. Are the feet extended a bit to account for your drawer front or are they flush with the carcass? Also, how wide were your cuts for the platform? Thanks!
Nice work!
Thanks!
nice work, thanks.
@8:49
Wow. You basically said the sponsored Kreg track system doesn’t cut straight. I appreciate The honesty, but damn
Nevermind, I saw it. "Cracked Pepper". Got it.
Who built the drawers for this?
Whats theblue thing used to drill holes sideways called?
Kreg Pocket Jig
This is the Kreg Foreman Pocket hole machine: amzn.to/30D5RiH
great job.
Maybe next time consider dust collection on all of your tools.
This is very unhealty!
Thanks! And yes, the shop is still under construction but that is a top priority.
Lovely!!
What is the total depth of the carcass?
what kind of sprayer did you use to paint ?
Charles he has a graco tc but I would recommend get a titan 440 is a little more expensive but the finish will be a lot better than what he got the finish he got is no good but the builds he made makes it look dope 🙌
how much did those slab cost? here it would be hundreds if not thousand of dollars
stephiso go to Home Depot. You can choose the type of wood and have them cut the dimensions.
nice video and just subscribed :)
Thanks Mac!
Can this also be used as a tv console?
You can make it whatever you want.
Joe Public thank you.
I also got my live edge from them like them on social media live edge detroit
Such a fun place to visit and great people too!
We drove 4 hrs one way to get them and also got a screw driver in the windshield 😂😂😂 good times
What would be the height?
Cool
Thanks April!
Looks amazing. But very time consuming. And you have to be very set up :(. Can't really do this DIY with out proper tools.
Exposed plywood edge filled with wood filler to increase durability over solid wood edge banding?? No chance lol
What are the dimensions on this one
@5:11 What paint gun is that?
Are you a professional carpenter?
"Carcass"? Odd.
It is an odd term but one that is commonly used in the cabinet industry referring to the main framework or body of the cabinet.

i cant watch a person crawl around on the floor , looks good but at least get a couple pairs of saw horses...
