Living in the UK is depressing especially working there is miserable. South Africa is a million times better the main challenge is Loadshedding. Life is better in South Africa, people are happier, kinder around you.

I loved the first 10 years in the UK, wonderful place to travel around Europe from, lots of things to do, things were cheap in comparison to your earnings, very safe compared to south Africa. interracial friendships are just a normal thing, you look at each other as people and not in accordance with their race. Then I realised you work, work, work most of your day,(no life /work balance), its bloody cold and the high cost of everything is scary. We now have the working poor in the UK.

Big business gains and ordinary people loss. Putting poor people out of a job,as for having your house and garden done overseas you can if you pay an hourly rate.

We have had a home invasion in which my dog was shot and killed, I've been highjacked in my driveway, I've had rocks thrown at my vehicle, my Daughter was sexually assaulted at University, even though a charge was laid against the individual, the police only arrested him after I threatened to shoot him because he was daily intimidating my Daughter at University. My Son was mugged twice. I basically live like a hermit, I won't even go into my garden without my panic button. So, NO! We don't want to live here but we have no choice.

I have family that immigrated to Australia in 2014, they left with 3 suitcases and hardly enough money to last them 3 months. They bought a house, 2 cars, and a boat after only 18 months of living there. I can assure you, there is no way they will be coming back. They left to give their daughter, that was 3 years old at the time, a better life in a country where they feel safe, a country where they don't need to worry about waking up in the middle of the night with a gun to their heads.

Black South Africans have not always had permission to travel abroad ( during apartheid) . Overseas still hold mystique to most ( Hollywood etc..)
Most Black south Africans are lost in culture and many ways
You find middle class African children who can't speak mother 's Tongue. Never visit townships( where the whole entire extended family still live) They only speak English. In the township upto to ten dialects are spoken at some time. Not only that. Most African moving into the Cities from Township can't form a community like in our townships.
