Damn, that editing never fails to impress! 😂 Unfortunate drop, but also very impressive to see that the newer bikes are designed so that nothing major will happen once it got dropped
Turn on camera , hold clutch , full throttle , put in first gear , release throttle , turn off camera , send me video 😁. Just slowly give it some more gas every time you leave a traffic light stop so the wheel comes up. Keep doing that and it will get better and better 😉
Man, your videos are the best! I can’t stop laughing 😂 Thank you for that. At the same time, very complete handling review about the Desert X that in fact that’s what everyone wants to know:- how the bike handles in real life situations and not on the Excel sheet 😎✌️✌️
I actually working on 3 road trips at the moment. 1 : Take my KTM 1290 or a KTM 1290 SAS to KTM factory in Austria and also visit the museum and WP Factory. 2 : Take a Ducati and ride it to Ducati factory in Italie and visit the museum as well. 3 : Take a BMW GS and ride it to the BMW GS factory in Berlin 😎
@@LifeofSmokey buddy it happens! I dropped and scratched up my new Norden 901 Expedition in the most noob way possible and I’m no noobie. 🤪 It hurt the bike and my pride but at least we’re out enjoying them as much as possible! 😁 Keep living it up Smokey! 💪🏽🏍️💨
I don't want to spoil the video but it has something to do with the kickstand and me getting back of the bike to say something I forgot about the tires 😂🙈
Surprised about your opinion on the tyres. I had an 890 Adv for a trip and had the same tyres, I think they're amazing... Handled decent chunky off road duty no problem, wide enough knobs to still paddle through sand, and yet all at the same time perfectly capable of trashing the crap out of them on road.
They are good not gonna complain but for really hard offroad I wouldn't feel good riding them and go for a more knobby option. But they are really good on and offroad as a perfect combo tire for sure 😁👌
Excellent review, even though I thought the broken clutch lever would be a more dramatic video..😂. Having said that I am glad it wasn’t. It goes to show that even someone with advanced skills like yourself, can make a mistake from time to time.
Enjoyed the video again, very unfortunate drop though. Something completely else, I am looking for a smaller highway capable adventure bike and would like to ask you if you would do a review on the 390 of KTM to test and give your opinion about it also compared to these bigger options.
@LifeofSmokey thanks bro. My plans are to use it in Norway on the offroad sections fully packed (also the ride towards). My health is a problem, so that is why I am interested in the 390 over de 890(that I previously owned ). Things I was looking for are: 1. capable for long highway rides and slow but hard offroad paths. 2. Not too heavy ( for picking it up) 3. Ground clearance 4.easy modification/protection of important parts of the bike. 5. Easy to load luggage (I have much kriega stuff) 6. I probably forgot some points. I really would like it to be an injection (Efi) bike, so the bikes on my list are the crf300,390adv,690/700 enduro, tenere 700, xt660 z. Where de 390 avd, for me hits, a lot of boxes and the pricing for a slightly used one is perfect.. also with the spoked wheels, it just got better. Yeah, I know the 890 adv r is king, I could just sit on it while passing others on hard offroad without a sweat 😅.
@@niw-w1f will try some of those things out haha. Keep reminding me of this post in like 2-3 weeks because I have so much planned I will most likely forget 😅🙈
Both bikes are good , liked both of them. The Ducati has that Ducati dna , the Husky is the Husky dna. It's more what brand you love the most to be honest. 🙂
I also noticed a lot of heat from the engine on the KTM 890r that I test rode. Same engine as the Norden 901. Unfortunately, the Ducati dealer wouldn't let me test ride a Desert X unless I was buying it, which defeats the whole point of a test ride, so that bike was never a factor for me. I got the KTM 1290r SA and and completely satisfied. Less heat too.
There is almost no heat on my 1290 SAR compared to the Norden expedition. But the heat on the expedition can't go down because of that HUGE skidplate 😂
I have not ridden any motorcycle lately that gives me everything I want like my 1290 SAR. The Multistrada is awesome but to much comfort for what I do , the Streetfighter is EPIC....but can't spend riding that all day and can't do offroad with it , the Desert X doesn't have enough horsepower for my personal preference. 😁 All Ducati's are epic so far but not perfect for me. The Multistrada rally is really close to perfect tho 😅👌❤️
@@LifeofSmokey i can imagine 😂 i just went to setup my suspension on my mt09, way better now i can brake into the corner without the bike diving down and even for wheelies it goes smoother less powerloss in the rear suspension. My bro wanted to pass me at 95km/h and just when he came besides me i pulled a big wheelie and took off 😂😂😂
Thanks for liking , sharing and subscribing all! Hope I can still get a bike from @Ducati 😅🙈
Good for you bro for not editing that out. Keeping it real.
ducati please lend this man more bikes
The only reason I’ve seen this bike.
😂 Well Ducati invited me to come ride the Multistrada and Desert X in the Eiffel Germany this weekend....they didn't see this video yet 😅
I love the recovery of the fall! "is it ok, have i hurt this? nope" and carry on haha! love the energy as always man
I don't give up easily 😅
Thanks for just getting on and riding and sparing us the specs that we can look up!
Already did that in another video for those who like numbers 😅. Thx Chris!

If the handlebar was straight nothing would have been broken 😅. So agree on that....not sure what happens when I do 50km/u 😅
I love how real you are.
Best reviews!!
Please make an Wheelie tutorial!
Im struggling so bad to do a wheelie with my Kawasaki Versys 650. 😢😅

Hi Smokey, you did a good review for Ducati so hoefully they'll forgive you about dropping the bike. It seems to handle good offroad.
Those levers are pretty expensive so who knows 😅.
The brand manager asked me not to crash and drop Ducati's like I did with the KTM...😅
Daaaamn Smokey! 😎
Looking forward to this explanation.
Yeah it's not my proudest moment 😅

took a small fall like that on my desert and the handlebar was a little sideways afterwards.
I am Ducati team now❤
The review Ducati want to do but can’t 😂
This is such a good video
what is the best option, for on road and off road
and which one has more power... Norden 901 or ducati desert x

Question, BMW 1300 gs or Ducati desert x rally?
Long travel in between the GS , more offroad the Ducati 😌
How does the on-road feel VS the norden?
About the same both bikes are very comfy and easy to ride 😊
so which sprinkler was it? we never got the answer.
A pet pet pet pet pet pet pet pet....no shhhh or pshhhh 😂

176cm 😌

Thanks m8! And no Ducati pays for my fails....not sure for how long , but they will pay the clutch that's all I know for now 😅

to be honest, ducati kickstand, especially the 90s - 916, and 999 are bad.
