- The Tamiya MB-01 is the latest M-chassis Car from Tamiya and Carl plans to take it racing to see how it compares the legendary M03 and some of the other Tamiya M -CHassis cars that have graced us over the years.

In this video we unbox the car before building it to the manual. once built we then convert it to a FWD car as the stock setup in the manual it RWD.
There are a few issues we have already noticed but look forward to seeing how it does on the race track. The first race essential is the need for a ball bearings rather than plastic bushings so check out RCbearings.co.uk - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

Need Tamiya to re release the mini again and as for the paint, its a Tamiya, it's got to be box art hasn't it 🤔

Paint it popalong livery, but do it in a mid-60's style and then do the rust patina like it sat in a barn since 1970

I really like the look of the MB-01 chassis, looks like a nice build and pretty easy to go from RWD to FWD. I can't wait to see the bodyshell finished, and also to see how well it drives ;)

Do the Popalong colors super clean and keep that as your shelf body and buy a back up body to do in full race livery!
Interesting to see the buildand the ease with changing from front to rear drive.
May well get one to get back into M racing.
For the colour
There was a yellow Abarth TCR racing in USA during 60s and 70s, the yellow canary.
And in the UK there was a well known one racing in french Blue.
Abarth changed the way the factory cars were painted every year during the 60s but in the main they were the greyblue colour.

Not a massive Tamiya fan myself.. but things are about to change as I’ve just got myself a Tamiya Boomerang (first hobby grade rc car i got back in the day) so i plan a tribute build very soon… standard at first, then a silly brushless upgrade that i may live to regret…. I have plenty of time on my hands now as I’ve been diagnosed with a brain tumour of all things… 😩 looking forward to seeing what colour you paint it and to see how it performs on track!!😃 your videos are getting more and more polished, you 2 deserve all your subs and more, i know only too well how much time and effort it takes to put ideas into action!!! Maybe box are but popalong colours? I love the way the car gives you options of RWD or FWD, and the different lengths opens up the cars shell choice to pretty much every m chassis shell released which is epic imo

❤ we would love to see a old rusty Fiat with fabric on roof so it looks like a ragtop.
Maybe Rusted Popalong colors but the with the colors on the panels top to bottom like those vw bug that are white and red panels. And a fabric ragtop.

Cant wait to see this fiat R-bath, sounds like a clean build! :D I think the Fiat should look great in Popalong colors, tho, it is understandable to paint it in the official ones as well. :D

I think that is a oil filled diff. But I hear that tt02 diff will fit this as optional.
As you intend putting a mini body on front wheel drive works well. From my personal point of view. For rear wheel drive I think the fiat 500 shell is great. When will they put out a Hillman Imp shell for rear wheel drive?

Will the battery tray only take a curved / rounded type battery?
I really hope the MB platform at some point is released with an MX5 body. I never got to finding an M series chassis kit with the old MX body. Thanks for sharing the build sequence, interesting little build. Cheers!
The mx-5 body is still available at some places usually refered to by the japanese name "Eunos roadster" but i hope too they re-issue it again. same as the mini cooper. (tamiya needs to get that BMW license again....)

. but i meant the old rover one too. BMW holds that license as far as im aware.

Looks like it went together well 👊 as for the colour, I’ll throw yellow into the ring so it’s like Lupin III castle of cagliostro 😂 but if yellow is meh for you how about red and black instead of box art blue and white 🤷🏻♂️

Why don’t tamya pre build their cars.
why dont airfix pre build their models??? for some people that is the main bit...
keep an eye out for ththe tamiya XB range which is prebuilt.
@@PopalongRC air fix don’t pre build their models as they are evil and want the customers to basil faulty the models half way through the build.
If you want to go the rusty look as a reference to how cars of that era tended to go, then why not go for an even more scale look of having no shell at all because by now the entire car (and especially Fiat's) would have rotted away to nothing years ago!!
