Kodak Easyshare m340: The $30 Digicam That You Did Not Know You NEED!

- Yes! Digicam! And one that no one really likes because it carries that bad name for cameras "Kodak Easyshare". You can find these little guys everywhere and for next to nothing. But they take wonderful 10.2 megapixel photos, at least in black and white. And you can fit these anywhere, even in your prison pocket if you are into that sort of thing!
Are there better digicams out there? Of course there is, by leaps and bounds! But if you are carrying this in that aforementioned dark and smelly pocket and forgot it was in there while going to bathroom and it clunks into the porcelain throne, forever lost in bowels of municipal sewage lines, than it's easy and cheap to replace!
The Kodak Easyshare m340 is a carefree, hassle free, and fun little camera to take everywhere and photograph anything! Make some memories with this little underrated gem of a butt pluggable digicam!
That full 1 minute of him just eating a burger in complete silence is peak yt content
lol thanks. I was going to cut it but figured wtf, why not.
Hi Matt! I enjoyed your video! Recently i found a Kodak easy share M577, touch screen, Schneider lens, and film settings of Kodak Kodachrome, Ektachrome, Kodacolor, Tri-X, Pan-X, and sepia. I bought it for a whopping $4.00! Best of luck in your photography journey!

I got a Kodak Easyshare M340 for $1 , now that's a good deal
That is a good deal, it's decent little point and shoot enjoy it!
Omg where
Honestly, even the Kodak EazyShare Z710 from 2006 which got mixed reviews back in the day took great photos both color and detail wise for a 1/2.5" CCD sensor. Whereby, on the other hand the Kodak EazyShare Max Z990 from 2011 got great reviews back in the day took great photos both color and detail wise for a 1/2.33" BSI CMOS sensor. Both cameras on the used market is selling in the double digits price wise.
It's kind of sad that Kodak gets such a bad rap with the digicams, granted most were ordinary and nothing special, but they had a few gems.
@@MattRyanPhoto55 I agree as Kodak digicams produced pleasing and realistic colors that I appreciated. Some of the Kodak digicams from the 2000's are a breath of fresh air as it challenges you to think about framing and the lighting conditions before you actually take a photo due to their functional limitations and lack of optical image stabilisation like the old film based SLR cameras; but without the expense of constantly purchasing various types of camera lenses, film and getting the film developed.
Hey could you share what the two ports are. I’m assuming one is a charger. I have this camera but no leads so would like to know what to buy?
The round port is for power/charge and the square one is for usb for file transferring I would assume.
Hey Matt!!
Great overview and I've started to use my old M340 for B&W photos which I was not using for a long time.
I was wondering what is the latest firmware version on your device since I've been wanting to update it but there's limited information available online. I'm currently running v1.6.
Thanks mate!
I will check when I get home and reply back!
Amazing, thank you! I'm looking forward to it.
I have version 1.6 as well
Amazing! I guess it is the final version then. Thank you so much for checking and coming back. Have a good one.
Hello, I recently got the same exact camera and I just wanted to know how it’s supposed to look when it’s charging? Is it supposed to have the green light lit while it’s charging? If you could tell me, that would be great! Thank you.
Honestly I am not sure, I do think there is a indicator light when it is charging, or atleast should be, I always used a charger I put the battery into directly.
Hello. I am wondering about what kind of as card they use? I bought one at a thrift store, yeaterday, but need to figure that out. And also how do you transfer the photos from the camera to your phone?
@@baddierat2246 I have a 500mb Kodak sdcard in it. I transfer the photos to my computer which is synced with my phone. You can use Google photos, Amazon photos etc to do the same as the iPhone sync.
Does it work with any sd card?
I use an 8gb SD card in it. Have not tried it with anything larger, I am guessing it won't run with large SD's
very good review :D
Do you mind sharing what SD card you are using with it? Finding it hard to find one that seems to be compatible with it atm
I am using some little 500mb card from Kodak that was in there when I got it. I have not tried to use anything else to be honest. You might need to have a look around on Amazon or something to find something older that is compatible as I would imagine the larger cards would not work well.
i found my old kodak easyshare m341 do you happen to know how i can charge this decade old thing? 😅
have to buy a cheap charger on Amazon for the battery, generally they come with a couple batteries as well so that's good.
I had the m350 in 2012 bro broke it was remembering I liked it thinking about getting it again or a g7x mark ii or Sony ZV-1
g7x is a good little camera. I have a couple of the Olympus PEN's but I like how the G7x has a EVF. I am debating on getting a Sony ZV-1F for simple light weight vlogging with amazing autofocus. I have my Fuji X-T5 and the Olympus Pen E-PL10 which both do 4k but I tend to not bring out the X-T5 for anything other than for my business work. And while the Olympus does 4k and it looks good, the autofocus is not very good.
@@MattRyanPhoto55 their selling a Sony ZV-1 for 300 2 city’s over for 300$ while g7x mark ii going for easily 450+ used I might go get the Sony Tomorow
How do I transfer the pictures from the camera to my phone?
You can use a USB cable, or insert the SD card into your computer and copy them that way.
are the results is b&w ?
The jpegs coming out of camera are what you set them too, so if the camera is in B&W mode than the photos straight out of camera are as well.
Can i take videos with it?
It does do video. Not anything great but could be a neat old school look
