- The declassification of the videos late Monday was to "clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real," the Pentagon said in a statement Monday. The footage, which shows unidentified objects flying at high speeds in the Earth's atmosphere along with audio of Navy pilots expressing shock and awe, was initially leaked in 2007 and 2017. The U.S. Navy formalized a reporting process last year for pilots to report incidents of UFO sightings.
The Department of Defense released three videos taken by U.S. Navy pilots revealing mysterious flying objects that to this day remain unidentified.
The declassification of the videos late Monday, one of which was taken in 2004 and the subsequent two taken in 2015, was meant to “clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos,” the Pentagon said in a statement Monday.
The footage, which shows unidentified objects flying at high speeds in the Earth’s atmosphere along with audio of Navy pilots expressing shock and awe, was initially leaked in 2007 and 2017. The videos were taken during training flights and the 2017 leaks were published by the New York Times.
“The U.S. Navy previously acknowledged that these videos circulating in the public domain were indeed Navy videos,” the Pentagon’s statement read. “After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.”
“The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as ‘unidentified’,” it said.

What's baffling is the reaction of the navy pilots, and how astonished they were. Think about how many things they saw flying those machines in the skies, and the training they've all received to identify other war planes.

It has been rumored for decades that if the military or the CIA or NASA has leaked a photo or a film or a video, they have greatly "dirtied it up" first. I don't know why.
@@JCAH1 It's a targeting camera, picking up hot jet engine exhaust, in infrared, from the rear, miles away. It is a good visual.
Im glad someone has some common sense not everything is like the movies, for real world application this is a good picture. And keep in mind the redundancy testing makes are aircraft technology a few years behind the current. And the cost of upgrading the whole fleet.

I am glad the US military has such clear technology in regards to footage.
Those are actually the cameras in most US planes. There cameras are looking around at night and lpng distances meaning it wont be the nicest looking footage.

I swear i saw a UFO when i was 13. I remember waking up in the middle of the night and looking out my window. I saw a bright light flying in the sky. It was slowly moving around from the field behind my house, to the treeline nearby, and back. Then it turned and started going toward me. It blinked and right after saw two lights blink in my yard. I then got extremely freaked out and ran to my parents room, who were sleeping, so not wanting to wake them i walked out. Then i noticed my cat was freaked out and the hair on her whole body was poofed out. Wanting to see if it was closer i slowly creeped back up to my window again, but the bright light in the sky was gone.

Dude one night a few years ago I was about to go to sleep and I saw four lights in the sky like in a line, not moving, it seemed pretty close to the ground. I went to tell my parents but when they looked it was gone. I came back in my room and it was also gone. Weirdest thing I have experienced

I live in East Tennessee there is a lot of military flying over my property low and fast 💨 when I hear them they are already gone past the property. That is the normal part I have also seen flying triangles that have changed directions instantly, and go from sitting still to disappearing in 2 seconds. Weird stuff to say the least.

Also, younger people dye from it, or keep permanent lung problems. Be noted as well that people don't create a good response to the common sneeze corona types, so the disease will (and already did) strike people multiple times in a year. So eventually younger people dye as well (sadly). At the first time, you might not have an underlying cause (you're not diabetic) though the second time you'll start with lung problems already.

That second one travelling fast over the sea I’ve seen two flying in parallel, absolutely scared the life out of me. They were absolutely silent travelling at silly speed & in our atmosphere. It was 3 years ago 2:30/3am in the morning the week after the perseids. These were not meteorites, shooting stars (they’re in space), drones, planes or anything I can explain they were not as fast as a meteorite but by far faster than a jet but again they were silent.
What was your location? Ground?
just a quick note: shooting stars are not in space, you can only see them burning away once they enter the atmosphere
I go out to watch meteor showers. I've seen hundreds of UFOs looking like they're patrolling space so often I think meteor showers are actually mass migrations. they look like fast moving stars except they zig zag then change direction.

I may be able to help you. Please tell me every detail. You can remember. About the spacecraft/s you have seen. Such as size shape color height width depth, etc. I have been researching this subject for decades. I may be able to tell you what it is. And which race is flying it. And where they are from. At the very least. And the reason most UFOs are silent, is because they use a propulsion system that does not involve internal combustion. Therefore it makes no noise, and produces no exhaust in the form of a visible gas like the exhaust from an internal combustion engine or a rocket engine.
IV also seen one. Believe it or not it was about 8 yrs ago in long beach California. Me and my friends seen it hovering above us with the spinning lights and all. We thought it was a helicopter but it made no noise. Being the scared kids we were, we all decided to agree it was a helicopter but it was about 150-200 yards off the ground an was clearly watching us

I am a middle man, but you gotta be careful when you say you're a skeptic. You are trying to find any detail that will point to no, like a confimation bias. I dunno what it is. I blew the image of the object up on my phone, the camera captures more information then people realise, changing brightness contrast colour , luminescence , and it looks like it can change shape .and has nozzles on it. It's also ironizing the air around it . It looks more like a life form then a craft. A life form that can manoeuvre like a fly in your living room. A living machine.

I am sure I saw something out of the ordinary at the Sacandaga Reservoir when I was a kid in the mid 80s. It was a clear, calm evening, around 9pm, the water was flat, basically no waves. You could hear anything on that lake. A dog barking on the other side, someone dropping a fork, someone messing around on their boat, someone yelling at a family member, you name it. This round, white object came up from behind some tall pine trees, down on my left side of the lake to the south of where I was. I do realize now I might have been fooled by how big or far away it was, but I could see it, so I assume I should have been able to hear it. I recall hearing planes, boats and other objects very far down the lake and being able to hear them even on very windy days. The light was moving around the object, but it just kept going up at somewhere between at 35 degree and 45 degree angle, eventually above the mountains on the other side. I would say it's speed was not out of the ordinary, but it looked faster than a small plane and as if gliding in the sky. I kept watching it go higher in to the sky and getting smaller until it was gone, very high up. I thought it maybe was a helicopter but I knew there was nothing but dense trees from where it came from, and I had seen helicopters fly around the area before, not in that way. And again, I should have been able to hear it considering how close it it appeared to be, if it was a helicopter. In all reality, I don't know. But I do know it was like nothing I have ever experienced.

I saw a UFO in Virginia near Richmond when I was little. I still vividly remember the shape, grey color and darker grey lines. Followed it for a couple minutes until it disappeared into the clouds. My best friend was there and my mom was cutting grass out front watching us
I literally got goosebumps when I saw the onion shaped UFO in the air force footage. I haven't seen anything like it since then and now I'm happy to know the air force saw the same and doesn't know

It’s an object that’s about a mile away from the jet and it’s moving at speeds over 1’000 mph. They were lucky to even manage tracking it. Not to mention that those cameras aren’t meant for crystal clear quality. They’re meant to isolate targets at high speeds, in the dark and far away.

Maybe you need to actually read things before you comment. The declassification was meant to clear up any confusion on whether the footage was authentic. These videos were leaked many years ago. The government just recently verified them as being authentic. Next time, do 5 minutes of research please.

Take a look at the information displayed on the typical FLIR video. In particular look at the relative bearing at the top of the screen. You will see that changes with time and keeps the image of the "UFO" centered in the display. As long as the tracking is maintained the "UFO" appears to move with respect to the sea or cloud background. Just the opposite is true.
If you want a practical analog, consider a child riding in the back of a car as it drives through an area with mountains in the background. If the child absent-mindedly locks his gaze on a specific telephone pole, it will appear to be very fast moving compared to the mountains in the background. The same thing is happening in the "UFO" videos, the tracking system is locked onto, and specifically tracking, the object of interest. You don't realize that because the tracking is automatic by the gimbal-mounted FLIR camera (Your gaze is Fixed on the object, not the sea surface or cloud background.). You can see it, however, by observing the relative bearing angle displayed at the top center of the display.
There is one video named "Gimbal". It's interesting in that at the very end of the video, the object of interest dashes off "at incredible speed" to the left. The object didn't dash anywhere, what happened is the tracking system either lost track or hit an angle limit and the object could no longer be kept in centered view. That's exactly what you would expect when tracking fails to keep the object centered, or at least in the field of view.

I once saw 6 or 7 oval shaped UFOs they were like 900 ft altitude, they were relatively close, close enough to see them clearly. Each one was probably the size of two cars combined, they were following a formation, they followed the UFO that was in front, they made no sound, had no wings, moved paralel to the earth, like an airplane. They were spherical but not round, more oval shaped. They were absolutley not man made, i have never seen a man made aircraft that comes remotely close to the technology that spaceship had. No wings, no engine sound, moving around 100 mph. Thats the most impressive thing i’ve ever seen.

Reminds me of a project of an anti-rocket weapon it was a drone alike concept, that used itself rocket fuel (i think I see thin small rocket yet exhaust lines, barely visible, as explained by using a special fuel type) it was quite common to test things out nearby other troops in those days, to check out how people would respond to new tech. Those things were extremely fast could easily be launched by a submarine (about a meter length) and where highly maneuverable think of sudden direction changes not possible with planes. It could make maneuvers like today's propellor drones can do (like U-turns), but this one used small rockets. It was something Darpa.. but I don't remember the name. So apparently the project got off-grid and improved a bit and had to be denied lol, and thus kept as UFO :)
I guess someone here will find the name, and that declassified video footage when it was still public research those days then.
yeah that's a better more plausible explanation. most old sightings from the 50s or 60s if i remember right were actually the u2 spy plane. there's all kinds of secret projects i'm sure and people sort of can't wrap their head around the fact that the military has more advanced technology than is public. i mean even the quiet chopper they used to get bin laden was secret and it's just a helicopter. think about how secret anti-icbm technology like you say or advanced spy planes with new propulsion methods would be.

Mistaking big and far away and fast for small and near and slow is pretty common, _especially_ against a blank background where there's no depth clues (like the sky or ocean).
What's interesting is that you can see a force field around one of the crafts. Almost like a magnetic field.

The problem with these "released" videos is that they've been on TH-cam for almost ten years and mainstream media is acting like they came out yesterday.
I was on the Roosevelt in 2015. That plane was launched from my ship. We were doing workups along the US East cost, preparing for deployment to the Middle East.
Well that really cleared my misconception.
