    Nice to meet you.
    It's an interesting product.
    This product is designed for single use.
    Cooling functionality has been removed.
    The intake and exhaust valves are rotary friction valves, so you may see the addition of oil in the exhaust.
    Compression leaks are also common.
    In addition, the rotational friction of the rotary friction valve is enormous, and improvement will be required for the generalization of this product.
    It's not impossible, but I don't know if it's profitable.
    Perhaps it will be difficult to surpass the conventional engine.

      About torpedo engines, the Junkers engine with head disc valves, designed by Felix Wankel, but Reynolds patented same two decades before, is an interest example.
      For 'use and discard' engines, Wankel, Pulsejet look better and cheaper.

    This particular configuration of the engine is perfect for its original use case as a power plant for a single use weapon: few moving parts, few parts generally speaking, extremely small size. To use it for other uses, alterations need to be made. The cylinder block shouldn't rotate. This will allow proper cooling to be routed through the cylinder block, and it also significantly reduces the wear on the combustion chamber. You'll notice that the con rods do not bend very much at all, meaning that if the cylinder block wasn't being forced to move, then there would be significantly fewer side forces and therefore wear on the combustion chambers. This would also mean that a new valve assembly would be needed, but poppet valves actually seal properly and introduce the possibility of variable valve timing, and the addition of a poppet valve system won't require too many more moving parts.

      All your comment revolves around is the cylinder of “ moving parts ” and “ moving parts ” For God’s sake, why don’t you leave this consumerist, regressive talk, or are you programmed for it ??

    It was made for packaging in a torpedo, not a car...no cooling channel needed, short working lifespan..just needs to start, fit and run in the specified parameters

    Never seal compression and combustion with the cylinders sliding along the head. Have you built one yet?

    A fuel/high pressure oil pump swash plate engine. 👍 Great idea
    I'm lost on how will reach cylinder be sealed to not leak combustion throughout the rest of the engine?

    What fuel does it run on? Obviously it cannot induct air due to being underwater. So I assume it is running on pressurised oxygen and some sort of inflammable gas. Propane or butane?

    wouldn't it be better with fixed cylinders and 5 sparkplugs? of course it would mean 5x intake and out, which could be issue, but still, the whole moving center i think makes a lot of trouble

      It only needs to work 50-60 kilometers underwater, it is more reliable even if it wear out faster

    So why is it’s thermal efficiency low?

    • @Maverick966
      @Maverick966 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because it is designed to be easy to be cheap, easy to manifacture and also it needs to work at 1200 meters of depth (4000 feet) rather than being efficient.

    Wikipedia has an excellent article about 'Axial/ Barrel Engines', many attempts existed, most recent INNengine.
    It were reported having volumetric efficiency, cooling, servicing, and wear problems.
    Let's see what goes on.

    It should be available for power generation. Technically its a 3 cylinder two of the pistons are not firing during one revolution. In two revs. Ita still 6 expansion. The other two cylinders I thought was precompression

    Hi. With the cylinders moving in an opposite direction to the crankshaft, cooling will be problematic, especially with five cylinders so close together. The strange motion of the big-ends indicates strange wear patterns will occur all through this engine, the pistons as well. Not an engine to run for hundreds of hours between overhauls, I would guess. Your English isn't that bad, you just need to learn which syllables are "power stroke" syllables, and which are "Induction" or "exhaust" syllables. Well done video. Cheers, P.R.

    You removed the crank but added in a significantly more complex, expensive part and you still haven't removed the problem. The reciprocating mass of the pistons is the problem, the crankshaft barely contributes to that.

      But the mass is reciprocating in line with the driveshaft. Maybe it's smoother?

    • @Lobsinus
      @Lobsinus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@conradsmith2441 ever so slightly perhaps, but it doesn't really address the problem engines have. The simple fact that we have mass that must accelerate, come to a stop then accelerate in the other direction is what limits piston engines. It cannot be eliminated without a radical redesign that steps away from pistons.

      @@Maverick966 То есть данный вид двигателей внутреннего сгорания конструктивно может долговременно работать только в состоянии погружения в прохладную воду или другими словами не может работать из-за перегрева на суше? В конструкции я не вижу предусмотренных каналов для охлаждения водой, да и если бы они были, то блок цилиндров всё-равно вращается внутри корпуса и было бы технически сложно реализовать водяное охлаждение.
