How To Manually Update WordPress Via FTP - Step-By-Step Tutorial

In this video, I would like to explain to you step-by-step how to update your WordPress website manually. In this tutorial, I'll show you how to do a manual WordPress update using an FTP connection.
All you need for this tutorial is an FTP connection to your website's WordPress directory. You can use any FTP program of your choice. I use the free FTP program "FileZilla" in this video.
Now you have to create an FTP account in your hosting service/CPanel. You need the server address, the username, and a password.
➡️ Download the current WordPress version: wordpress.org/...
★ Download the WordPress zip file and unzip it on your computer.
★ First, you have to rename the plugin folder. (From "Plugins" to "PluginsSTOP")
★ Then you have to delete the two folders "wp-includes" and "wp-admin".
★ After the two folders are deleted, you can upload the folder again.
🤗 All important files and folders are now updated!
★ Finally, you have to rename/activate the plugin folder again.
Now your WordPress installation is updated to the newest version!
Important: Don’t erase the wp-content folder, or lose important files. Also, don’t erase the wp-config file or any other files.

Hi! Thanks to this good tutorial, it is very understandable and useful for those who have a WordPress update not an everyday thing. One addition:
You must also access the wp-content folder on the server and the local machine, and the files and folders in it must be uploaded. So not the wp-content folder itself, but the items in it as well. This is because the language translation elements are here and need to be updated as well.
The files in the main folder must also be uploaded. Of course, before the WordPress update, the full file and database backup is basic.
