Every episode, EVERY SINGLE EPISODE has been nothing but amazing. Hands down, my favorite anime of the season and most likely to become my favorite anime of the year.
I want more backstory of Flamme. That's a name of famous mages in quite a few anime so I'm always intrigued lol. The ending shot of Frieren floating seeing Aura was freaking awesome. So excited for next episode. And I love that the demon saw Fern as the prodigal sub of Frieren lol. Especially concealing her presence.
Flamme's backstory is not really touched much even in the manga. However, we'll get to see more of Frieren's time with Flamme during this arc. (Like how she came to be Flamme's apprentice)
Frieren is coming in this season hitting it hard and there’s such brutality. The animation is going strong and even getting better. It shows that the passion is there. Lugner’s VA also voices Sukuna but the tone is different. The demons are long lived and passionate about a single magic which contrasts Frieren who is passionate about many magic spells. The show does a good job of showing the passage of time and progress. The demons are still methodical enough to make sure they find a way to do more carnage. Also Sousou no Frieren is technically a title drop since I believe that is part of the title. It’s good to see how Fern is learning a lot and fast from Frieren. Stark’s fear does help save him and better assess his situation. Blood manipulation is a cool technique which does remind me of JJK abilities. The Lord was smart in figuring it out and hope he does survive. And if you think about it, the demon lord threat isn’t gone at all despite what we saw from the first several episodes. But now society and magic have advanced. There’s so much action and something is always happening
i absolutely love how frieren refuses to carry the whole party lol her specifically saying "I don't think you're weaker than them at all" because maybe at their level, stark and fern may not be stronger than lugner yet in terms of experience but that doesn't necessarily mean they're not strong enough to fight him. it reminds me of whenever im playing a video game and i feel intimidated by a high level opponent and i'd put off fighting them, not until i reach a higher level than them but really, it's not just how high your level is that matters but your actual skills in playing the game that make a difference (and that's why i suck at games and always have to get carried by my friends hhdhdh) 😭
I think the use of magic that tickled me the most was Fern flicking the lock open on the window of the castle. I just love simple stuff like that and getting to see magic use that isn't just variations of the Kamehameha.
I loved this episode especially how much of a badass that Frieren is. Like she did not even react to how magic wires was put around her neck. And it did look like she was being hanged. As she still smack talked that assassin, before easily cutting off his hands. And killing him with minimal effort so now I see why they call her Frieren the slayer. Then I liked how she prep her team by saying “what you don’t wanna fight them by yourself do you not call yourself heroes?” As to try and motivate them. Which did work ok maybe it took a little longer on Stark then Fern lol. And I also liked it when Stark and Fern did infiltrate the castle. As that is the different between when a fighter and a wizard infiltrated. As a wizard can just cast walk on water and flight which makes everything so much easier lol. But yeah I also loved to see how Lugner fights. As he so quickly did cut all of those guards heads. Like his blood can turn into a blade that he can manipulate more or less how he wants it. But now he knows that they are in trouble as they have messed with Frieren. So I’m looking forward to the next episode to see how many demons she will slaughter then
I love the way they handle these fight, there not that much in the manga when it comes to fights and the added flavor to the parts that are not in the manga is why it important to get the feeling of a moment. That good adaptation.

This is the kind of build up episode that makes me swear to binge this whole series in 6-episode batches so I can get enough coolness. Truly, this series has it all: Emotional moments. Badass moments. Funny moments. WTF moments (the "mimic" gag). And all to the beat of awesome music with S-Tier animation. Chills, baby. I got f-ing chills when got to hear Frieren's demon nickname. Truly "Frieren, at the funeral". THEIR funeral. A badass demon slayer who said implicitly "those two with the Graf are flunkies, the two fledginlings can deal with them". Oh, yes, Brandon, you can bet we'll be back here to listen to your review and reaction. Because that's the extra fun a series of this level has. This is going to get wild indeed.
im so happy Frieren got an adaptation, believe, you all have no freaking idea, if this gave you chills, the next one is going to be 10 times more of this, i just want to see Aura's face when she realized
May favorite moment is when Fern fires the first time on Lugar and the close up is on Lugar as glass flies towards him just before he is sent flying by the Xatrok blast. Excellent PS: Up to this point we've only known that she was part of the party that killed the Demon King. We've seen her blow away Qual in one shot. We have also seen her in action training Fern. But in this episode we actually see her in combat. Next episode we shall see just how powerful this genius is. Looking forward to the next story.
With this episode, I finally know what is the meaning of this show's Title! Frieren the Slayer is a pretty incredible surname 🔥 As disciple as Master, Fern looked so badass! I'm glad Stark is still fighting, even if he's shaking! Frieren is without a doubt, my favourite Fantasy type show since many years 😎😌
Pulling out a REAL old school reference! Frieren v Aura is looking like it's going to go down like Jason in No Retreat, No Surrender when he goes up against Ivan (Van Damme), cannot wait!
To quote Three Six Mafia: Somebody's gonna get their ass kicked Somebody's gonna get their wig split The Draht fight was perfect. A good, short fight, despite Draht being absolutely NOTHING to Frieren.
Okay... This is gonna be not only a 10/10 series but an absolute masterpiece that will be talked about for years to come. This is not going to be just anime of the season because it's airing in a packed one to say the least. This series and the staff behind it have made it to be one of the best produced anime of the year. I'm convinced that this anime is very deep in its production and I wouldn't be shocked if someone reported that it's almost if not near the end of the production for all 28 episodes. When you have this amount of quality in an episode that was a action packed then you know the rest is gonna be great as well. Frieren is showing why the demons have named her to be the slayer because she can solo all of these mfos in a blink that it's not even funny. Maybe this demon general will give her a lttle bit of issues but we wait and see on that. She's a genius after all just like her master and Fern is also showing signs that she can be one too. But Lugner, he's a guy you love to hate, he's got a cool ability and he's got that genuine evil about him. If Fern and Stark had stayed then maybe they'll be able to end it but since the leader of the town was injured they had to retreat and that was the best decision. I also like how he wasn't dumb in realising that Frieren wouldn't be dumb to kill a guard. It diverted my expectations of him because I could've easily seen the demons framing her and they would make her the enemy of the town but he was smart to realise that this was not Frieren's doing. I love this show. The style of it, the passion you're seeing from Madhouse is absolutely amazing. And when you got JJK, Undead Unluck, Shangri La Frontier, Eminence, Shield Hero and so much more and you're giving out this type of content then I'm only getting more hyped for future episodes. Great review Brandon
Agree with you on the production….and quite frankly, with the way other shows are put out……this is the way to do it. The latest controversy with JJK and MAPPA just brings the industry and the treatment of the animators, hopefully, more out in the open.
@@hokieham Very few productions are made ahead of time and had enough time for the staff to show what they can do. There are only some that come to mind like Trigun Stampede or Mob Psycho which is honestly a shame considering you're hindering the talent you bring for an anime with a shitty schedule. Mappa is my favourite studio thanks to the amount of quality and the peak storytelling of the anime they make but as with any studio and their company heads, I seriously dislike those people as I do with production committees. There is no excuse for doing what they are doing to their staff since they had the time to produce this season and they decided to make CSM in between JJK S2 and JJK 0. As much as I loved CSM, it could've waited or moved to another team.
@@hokieham I'm just waiting for the animators and directors to go on strike. And I don't mean one or two making murmurings because they can just make sure those people never get work again but if let's say 100-200 people rise up and say no more, then we're talking because they can't afford to lose animators with their declining population. It needs to happen because this type of treatment is borderline illegal. I'm surprised they haven't organised some type of protest by now because I'd be supporting them all the way.
I made audible noises while watching this episode. Very rare for me to do, but this episode had me yelling "F**k yeah" while I was drunk. Great f***king show. F**k yeah. Let's drink.
I love fantasy and to see a great anime treatment…….man, this is great. Every episode is better and better. The animation so consistent. Just watching them jump into the mansion was so smooth.
Kinda it is, battles aren't the focus of the series. There are not many but they are absolutely good. For the rest is a slice of life spending time together and grow together.
In another show, when Frieren goes to challenge Aura the Guillotine the viewers will be like, "Oh, she's going to challenge the boss now." But with the way Frieren makes her entrance, descending from the sky with the silver moon at her back, looking cold and impersonal at Aura, I get the vibes that it is Aura who has arrived at the boss stage, and Frieren is her boss fight. I just love how Frieren and Fern both exudes so much coolness and panache once they get down to business in this episode. And they contrast nicely with Stark who is nervous but still stands his ground.
I think Flamme wove her lasting spell(s) onto long living beings like a potentially mighty tree... now I am thinking if frieren is also such a long lasting legacy?
That poor demon with rope was acting all cold until he realised who was the coldest in that cell. You can't go from acting cool to start begging for your life in few seconds... I guess honor is not a concept demons understand. Else I have no doubt of Frieren being stronger than Aura but we better not underastimate her. After all she survived an accounter with Frieren and her whole old party if I undestood correctly.
I don't think people even understand how good this anime or Manga is with the writing the only writing this good I've seen was on Vinland saga, I don't get why people are saying this Anime is too slow for them, I cried every episode just seeing the justice Madhouse did and also the music by Evan call and the VA everything is perfect. How can people not like this show 😭😭😭😭
I’ve read the manga and the final arc I’m guessing this 28 season is ending on is hilarious no spoilers but Frieren is eaten by a few mimics cus man she’s greedy
It's honestly insane how much better this show keeps getting. See my full uncut live reaction to the episode over on Patreon www.patreon.com/BrandonReviews
I really like how they didn't make the chief a dumbass, and he was able to logic out why it wasn't likely that Frieren was guilty.
Agreed. The chief was smart and sensible but still vulnerable to the demons’ persuasion
Every episode, EVERY SINGLE EPISODE has been nothing but amazing. Hands down, my favorite anime of the season and most likely to become my favorite anime of the year.
Same. It’s been incredible.
Frieren descending herselfdown to face Aura, like the Moon Presence in Bloodborne, was 🔥That is so dope
to be known by the demons as “Frieren the Slayer” is craaazy.
Doom Guy would be proud.

I'm proud of Starks being scared yet pressed forward and attacked the leader of this trio of demons.
Yeah that was really brave of him but I guess they are a duo now lol
Oh yeah, a promising duo
It will be interesting to see how the demon duo will face off against our protagonist duo next week
He's scared but he wont let the disrespect pass
I like that about him. He's fully aware that he's a coward, but won't stand for injustice

Flamme showing why she's called "The Legendary Mage, Flamme" for a reason.
