Thank you Dr. Gupta for your good medical advice. I had thyroid issue for a few years. My doctor put me on Levothorozine (which I hated). Last year I decided to change my diet to a "plant based diet", which was hard, but I stuck with it, because I am determined to eliminate the drugs out of my life. So I stopped, "all meat, gluten, sugar, dairy, processed meats and all fried foods. Because of this "Plant based diet" way of eating, my whole life has changed. I am 76 years old, but I feel like I'm 40. I have a "life" now that I'm proud of, so this is my story and I hope it helps someone!!

I'm 32 and my doctor prescribed be levothyroxine for the same reason. What MD saying make sense I just need to adjust my diet like you and may not even need drugs anymore. That's the truth of reality nowadays everything is processed and less nutritious.

Thank you for sharing struggle with this too, now changed my diet no milk, no cheese, no yoghurt anymore instead of that cocos yoghurt or no GMO soy yoghurt. Sugar is a thing nowadays with about 85% processed foods. When we eat meat it will be halal that is different, whole plant based would be great but since I have lots of intolerance to food it is not easy that is why I somtimes go back to FODMAP diet an elimination diet from a University out of Australia. Hope someday to feel better with no overweight, 20 kilo extra overweight is heavy and causes pain.

Hi Dr,i too have stopped gluten, dairy, soy Thyroid levels are normal now.Thank u.But sometimes if i accidentally eat food unknowingly which contains even one of these things like gluten, soy, dairy then after 4-5 hours i get an anxiety attack.. Sometimes my anxiety attack is so severe it lasts for 2 days and chest is heavy and chest muscles become tender to touch. Why does the anxiety attack come even if my thyroid levels are normal???

I have Hashimoto’s. Thank you for your invaluable knowledge. I will be passing your video onto several people I know. It was useful to me as well. I’m mostly dairy free, mostly gluten free, rarely eat fried foods but my downfall is sugar. I try to buy and free range beef and meat but it’s not possible when I get takeout or delivery of food. It’s a dilemma. I will try harder now after watching this.

@@AnshulGuptaMD Thank you. I’m treating Lyme Disease and two coinfections which puts me in a position of constantly battling Candida. And I’m aware that sugar feeds the Candida Albicans. It’s a vicious cycle because the treatment causes the Candida which causes the craving as you know. I appreciate your encouragement!

Hi, Thanks for the video. Is millet bad for thyroid? I've been watching Dr. Gundry who preach to stop consuming foods high in lectins which include whole grains with exception of millet. On the other side, there is a strong opinion that millet might be bad for thyroid. You input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am eliminating wheat from diet and including sorghum, finger millet etc. in my diet. I use only 2 tablespoons of milk during the whole day for tea. But I eat homemade yogurt from that milk every day. Is that bad? I don’t eat processed meat, sugary snacks or fried food may be occasionally at party. I take levothyroxine 25 mcg daily. I want to stop taking it but not sure what to do. Thanks for information.

Another excellent video. I went gluten free over 6 months ago, I stopped dairy 90% over 10 years ago. But I sometime give in to ice cream. Sugar I am working on, I never eat processed meat ever. I have been eating fatty foods lately... I had no idea these 5 foods caused my thyroid problem I would have stopped years ago.. I was told I got it from soy and oxalates. I stopped those long ago.... Thank you so much. I need to watch more of you video.

Feel like I’ll never get my life back. I used to be very fit and work as EMT. Now on disability. Take thyroxine daily. Need to make changes, would love to consult. I need some hope. My weight went from 70kg to now 105kg. My son is 4, I want to be a fun and energetic parent, not one who avoids anything exhausting. Please help.

Totally agree. Sugar and processed foods are products not food.
I am an insulin diabetic. Sugar is a drug and goes to the same area in the brain as heroin or cocaine. I gradually reduce sugar not stop at once. I also only eat food that is grown or from grass fed animals. I also take vit D3 + K2 plus magnesium.
I no longer have a foggy head. I have retinopathy but my right eye has resolved. High insulin levels are as bad as blood sugar levels. I am asking my doctor for insulin level test. Awaiting his response.
Good luck - its definitely worth it!

Thank you doc! I found out I'm gluten sensitive / celiac last August and since got rid of it have been loosing weight and getting in better shape. Looks like I was very BLOATED. I have also severe soy allergy block throat, breathing. That also makes me bloated all over, like water filled balloon. Getting rid of these two alone helped tremensously. But I cannot give sugar totally. With tea using raw cain sugar, made by natives in south america, more nutricious and agave syrup. I cannot live without some sweet taste. Planning to change to stevia drops though.

Hello Doctor! Are flax seeds goitrogenic? I recently saw a video in which the doctor says, flax seeds should be avoided for hypothyroidism. Please confirm.
