Aretha has no rivals, Patti knows this, so should you. Her voice is big but very coarse and sharp with an ugly tone.., with technical limitations and often pitchy. All this said she is mediocre, which is why she is never recognised as a great voice.
Any other singer: after 40-50 years singing one song, carefully lowers key, leans on backup singers more, saves it for the end Miss Patti at any age: throws away microphone, blows roof off the place, slays us all and gives us life at the same time.
