Everything in dentistry is just a collection of “the basics”.
Always good to review and rereview

Directa Luxators took me from an average exodontist to a great one. Yes, you can use them as luxators and as elevators. A L5C is my do it all.

Removing the distal aspect of a lower molar to make space to luxate into often avoids odontosection. Also shortening the two portions of the sectioned tooth so that a craze fracture doesn’t happen down to the bone level is useful. Make the pieces short and stocky

Thank you for all of your great videos. Would you agree that eliminating mesial and distal contacts should be used whether there are large adjacent restorations or not? This might allow some movement of the tooth that you would not have gotten if there were contacts. Also, how much might you use selective troughing/guttering on teeth other than third molars? Thanks again!

I agree that removing contacts is very helpful and under utilised
      guttering I rarely do!

My take away was when tooth to be extracted is surrounded by heavy restoration or weak tooth you break contact that will make removal easy.
