Thanks for posting this video. I lived in Malta 1962-65 and brought my wife for a visit in 2013. Nice to see the Opera House site restoration completed. Great video of those waves on Tower Road!

Impressive video...after a week in Malta we flew home on the Saturday evening, and though then that the marathon would have to be cancelled. We were pleased to return to the warmth that is Manchester
Thanks , glad you liked it. What a crazy weekend, the Saturday morning was so nice then it just turned. It was the right decision calling off the race as Sunday morning was awful!!
Cool video. What a shame it happened on the day of the race. I was in Malta 3 days after the storm and it was nice and sunny, we were lucky that we missed it lol. But I'm also a bit jealous of that footage, some of the shots were incredible! 👌🏻
I was also there planning to run a half marathon...still cant believe how unlucky we were with the weather. Despite of the cancelled race I ran my own unofficial run next day and enjoy my visit to this beautiful island. Cheers
I saw lots of people running on the Monday in their race numbers. I think lots of people had the same idea. Well done for getting out there and getting the miles in
I just return a few days ago from trip over to Malta. I was there for the storm. There were lots of runners at my hotel in Sliema getting ready to take part in the race. Too bad it got cancelled. I was out in the storm standing in the exact same place on the promenade where you got struck by the wave. I got struck by a 20+ ft wall of water, soaked to the bone. I am curious as to what happened to the inflated arch they had setup on the "The Strand" in Sliema for the race.

I remember that there was a huge wave and it brought all the dish on to a road a nd people where picking up the fish I was at home when this storm happened. The good news that I live on the third floor and wind speed is not very high and still the rain was going crazy. It took four or three days for the storm to stop they Evan alarted everyone on the news that a big storm is coming be inside and don't go out. When the storm stopped in four or three days went I want out side all the where dirty with dirt on them and a tree fall on a car.
