They did the same thing they did with the crows. Owls flap their wings constantly while in nature they hover or land most of the time. I regret that they did not follow the example of the bone dragon animation. It would have made more sense : Posed when the character is static and hovering when moving.

YES!! I've always wanted an owl pet for a long time! I've always asked for a pet owl, and it's actually happening!! THEY DO LISTEN TO US!!! I'm gonna finally get an owl named Archimedes!!!!

There was no specific information about that yet, but it would be cool if it's going to be from an event and not a crown pet. We'll see

Haha :D true! Sadly, there's no information about how to unlock it yet. I think it could be related to the Orsinium event, maybe, but that's just a guess
