    I listen to Audiobooks to stay engaged while I drive. I picked up "The Exorcist" to kick off spooky season. It's the only Audiobook I finished in a day. I sat in a chair and was totally enthralled. I truly loved his narration.

    i like the conversational feel of your descriptions for each book, it feels like i’m listening to a friend tell me about a book they loved. i prefer it to the more typical formal reviews that i’ve found on booktube :) i own a copy of IT that i haven’t yet read-i guess this is my sign to pick it up!

    I will say, I agree 100% on Salem’s Lot. That book freaked me out. But for absolute raw horror, I have to go with Brian Lumley, and in particular, The Source. Book III of the Necroscope series. Have you read him, and do you like his work? Man, if you love vampires, this series will keep you entertained for weeks.

    I often forget how old I am. I read Stephen King's IT and 'Salems Lot a very, very long time ago (possibly before you born 😅). If you want some super fantastic Stephen King, read his short story collections (Night Shift, Skeleton Crew, Nightmare and Dreamscapes). He can't babble on and so the stories are much tighter than his novels.

    I’ve heard The Elementals get good reviews on other channels too. I read Michael McDowell’s Cold Moon Over Babylon and thought it was totally lame. I’d like to hear this channel’s or someone else’s opinion on that book to see who I can trust and if I should one day give The Elementals a chance.

    • @BradProctorReads
      @BradProctorReads  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Elementals is the only book I've read from McDowell so I can't say if Cold Moon Over Babylon is any good or not. What was it that you didn't like about it?

    • @madlynx1818
      @madlynx1818 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ the story was “told” to you. There was nothing mysterious, nothing scary, no believable motivations, no likable characters, whatever supernatural aspects were in it felt like they were just added to make it a ghost story and It went on and on until the end when the author decided to just kill people off. Before this I read Cunning Folk by Adam Nevill and really enjoyed it and after Cold Moon I read Phantoms by Dean Koontz and really enjoyed that. Sandwiched between them Cold Moon was a waste of precious time. I def recommend those other two.
