So, on the subject of BOOMco darts being amazing but the blasters needing to catch up a bit, I've realized that their under performing velocities may be entirely intentional. The reason being, BOOMco darts are actually heavier than Nerf darts. They're about 1.5 grams, whereas a Nerf dart is typically 1 gram. Since these darts are around 3/2 the mass of elites, they're gonna have about 3/2 as much momentum and energy if fired at the same velocity as elites. This means that, for kids which the BOOMco line was clearly (and completely understandably) marketed towards, BOOMco darts could actually start to hit too hard at Nerf blaster velocities. I've found from experience that some kids find Nerf blasters to hit too hard anyways. This weight difference may also be why the darts are arbitrarily smaller than elites - so the darts wouldn't get too absurdly heavy. Most of this weight comes from the "smart stick" tips, which are some kind of solid rubber unlike elite tips which are hollow. The tip being solid seems to also make them hit harder anyways (despite having nearly the same kinetic energy on average as an elite dart if you do the math) as I've been told by people I've shot in HvZ that they tend more clearly feel it when my Rapid Madness hits them. That solid rubber's weight may have also been what got them to look into making the darts plastic straws rather than foam tubes, which worked out amazingly.
tl;dr we need to teach our kids to take a hit so we can have stronger BOOMco blasters

For a springer would you recommend these over Koosh Gen 3's? I've noticed that koosh seem to be a bit inconsistent in their foam diameter and a couple shots in both my Retaliator and Slingfire got terrible ranges, even for a grey trigger

I've had really good results using thumb tacks for my buzzbee darts. I wonder if those are allowed.
These darts are great. Have not had too many tip failures, but it depends on batches. Foam fit is also another inconsistent one. It depends on the color/batch of foam they make it with. Right from the "source" (taobao), its about $2-2.5 USD / 100 darts pre-shipping.

I ordered a "Blaze Storm" that knock-off of the Roughcut and it came with a bunch of these (not a bad blaster as knock-offs go). Saw them on a amazon and was gong to buy some but got distracted by a blaster. Ordered that instead, was going to order some next week. Glad to see that they won't be a waist of cash.

I "circumcise" my elite darts. just cut off the top of the orange dome and then peel off the remaining orange parts, leaving only the white core of the dart head. it makes then super accurate when done right, but, fair warning, they're too short for flywheel pusher mechs.

I've been buying "FVN" darts on eBay, pretty much the same as you describe, but cheaper and I've had no glue failures yet. Having had prior (horrible) experience with the gray "acc-u-rate" darts, I probably just wouldn't buy on Amazon. Also, I got a thousand for about $40. The seller was technology-onsale. Shipping did take more than a week.

Which seller did you buy the grey ACCurates from. I have bought those before and the only problem I had was very minor, which was the heads falling off.(They are easy to glue back into the dart)
I was not the buyer, but they were the ones with the printed name. It was not just the heads falling off, the foam quality was poor and the fit was bad in almost everything.

+Kevin Zaleski They don't hurt all that much in Stock although it'll sting if you hand-test it. The real fun is the modded Snapfire or even better the Berserk Longstrike.
Personally I would say avoid all fake darts but the koosh's, the latest gen are very well made and the LARP system I go to is basically super stock nerf, and anything with a solid head is banned for good reason I think.
+Wight Knight These are the best ones for Air-powered blasters, and that's why I got them. If these darts are banned for hard-tips, than there's no way they'll allow a 4B tank anyways.

tianmadragon Well, you'd be wrong because I just listed why they aren't. Koosh are definitely more practical but on the grand scheme of things these do have an edge. Especially when you consider I bought them specifically for the higher velocities.
+WalcomS7 let's agree to disagree, I use a heavy modded lawnmower strife where ammo capacity counts, but these darts are better for higher power such as air tanks etc

Never had an issue with the glue on 99% of them, a few were just glued poorly but it was maybe 5 out of every 100. The stock longshot breech does not like these due to the fatness, otherwise they are very similar to FVJ5's but they move a bit quicker and are considerably more accurate. If your wars allow FVJs these are a great choice, especially out of high power springers.

The tips aren't rubber, they're hard plastic, and I've put them through coke cans with an XBZ.
