Just…good grief man, already commented but I just love this so much. This feels like the end they’ve been moving towards for a long time now. Not that I think they should be at their end! But there’s been hints of this coming and I’m so glad it did. Also want to say: Kevin’s drumming is so fucking perfect….it’s not over-the-top busy and distracting from the cold atmosphere of succumbing to an inevitable fate…it enhances it so much and adds such perfectly timed power and emotion. I often don’t find percussion to be able to convey much emotion but holy shit Kevin does, on tracks like this and on 2014’s “observer”. Vincent’s vocals have just become God-tier. They’re intelligible and full of so much raw feeling. Not trying too hard to be brutal or heavy and at the same time about as heavy and the sad kind of angry (I feel this too) as it’s possible for a human to transmit. Their music has long been a source of cathartic release for shit i feel and have a hard time getting out. I know they’ll probably never see this comment but if you guys do I just want you to know I’m thankful and you’ve really helped me get through life and find something external to match an inner intensity of frustration, anger, and feelings of futility. And y’all are kicking ass with the direction you’ve been going. God bless (I don’t know if that’s weird or offensive to say God bless you to a band like this but I trust the expression of good will comes across haha)
To be honest Vincent is always in God mode he's one of my favorite vocalists of all time. Perfect death chords. I got a lot of my screaming and growling from him and David Randall Blythe and sometimes sound like Christopher Barnes all my favorite low growls and screams. I think my high pitched screams come from Suicide silence and Infant annihilator. My style is idgafuck but I'll do it for the love and make it death metal or death core either way!

I just saw them play this album live in NYC about 2 weeks ago. THIS song live was a fucking transcendant experience. Been a fan since the dead walk dropped. The growth is absolutely astronomical.
The church bell/funeral toll around the 4 minute mark is soooooo good and well fitting. Appreciate that they didn’t overdo it…just once for effect and not diminished or corny through repetition or anything overly dramatic

Long since moved on from metalcore + breakdowns + mosh music, but I can get behind this. I'm guessing no one in the band is under 40, just transition into a slow band and leave the moshing for the kids 🤷♂️

Moshy metalcore breakdown bands almost exclusively appeal to kids aged 14-25. Most of us kind of grow out of it by 30. When I was 16 the last thing I'd wanna see is a 37 year old grandpa in the pit. Doesn't mean you can't still love the music, go to shows, etc.
I'm 50 and still am always on the rail and in the pit...maybe not as much but pretty close,i also weight train daily and practice MMA as a sparing partner for fighters. So i am guessing you are talking about a normal 50 year old whos out of shape or something?
