I've been happy with mine. I also have the wave + in black but for EDC I think this is best. It gets the job done just like the original PST and I haven't had any issue with cutting myself on the "blade issue". If it wasn't for TH-cam I probably would have never thought about the so called blade issue. Good review. I would love to see an update video of what you think about it. I'm happy with mine. I also love that it looks a lot like a PST.

The blade pops put on the supertool300 aswell but nobody calls that an issue lol

I don't own a super tool. But I still carry my bond and think it's a good replacement for the original PST.

FYI you can carry any plier based multitool in Canada. We don't have any laws prohibiting a locking blade folder. However, balisong, ballistic, gravity, and spring autos are prohibited.

The Bond was created for foreign countries with strict knife rules. I’ve been carrying it for about a week and like it here in Florida

Great video im thinking of picking up the Bond I also EDC the Huntsman I think they will be a great pairing. And dont worry about going in to Canada with a blade, the knife laws are not as strict as the UK its a simple Google search! All you have to do is tell any peace officer its a tool even a large fixed blade hunting knife is fine on a belt!

Great video! Just received mine today. Reminds me of the original pst as well. In my opinion, I think the knife opening everyone is talking about is a little exaggerated.. for one it’s inside of the tool, not on the outside. And secondly it does not come out as easily as I’ve heard stated by others. I like it a lot.

Happy with mine too. I'm in the UK so I can EDC it. Today I was working in a shop so it was in my bag - sometimes it comes in useful for fixing stuff there - and had a Vic Moneyclip in my pocket for small package opening tasks with it's blade and scissors. Other times I'll carry it with a Vic Farmer X which is more rugged.
I like the boxy old school construction - like on my Rebar. The tools are all solid, no half assed short files or 2D Phillips like on the Rev/Wingman/Sidekick and the Free series. In fact the Supertool 300, Rebars, and Bond are the only Leathermans with what I consider to be proper Phillips drivers. Those half bits in the bitset to accompany Wave etc. aren't sufficiently profiled in my opinion.

Well hello from across the pond. I am using my Arc but still carry my Bond when I'm dressed up and carry it on my belt in leather sheath. Definitely love the tools and it's lightweight.

Hello, your review is clear, humble and honest. So many people say bad things about this model, even though it is a good tool with some areas for improvement but above all a lot of positive sides. It is for this reason that I subscribe.

Thanks so much. I try but admittedly I can be grumpy about things too. I always feel that most of these tools and gear are going to have pros and cons and there's probably no perfect tool but we can all find what will work best for us.

@@davem.3844 I agree with you, there are no perfect tools just like there are no perfect knives. That's why I collect American knives. I am French but I am a fan of the USA. I have a little channel on TH-cam names "American Knives Enthusiast" you can watch if you have time. Good day and see you soon. ZITO

I carry a Bond here in Canada, but only because it reminds me of my old PST. I have a Free P2 and Rebar as well.
You can’t carry a Balisong or switchblade here, but there’s no restriction on locking knives in Canada. Our only true law is you can’t carry for self protection. So if asked, it’s a tool. Police don’t care unless you’re using the knife to commit a crime.

.... perfect UK EDC.... I have had my BOND for a couple of months and I carry it with the Victorinox Huntsman SAK. I put a 1mmx4mm strong magnet inside the BOND near the tip of the blade. I sheath carry both....and I also have put on the pocket clips for both the BOND and SAK.... convenient, in between tasks, just to shove either into the pocket until finished with. For those of you with the "Older" SAK key ring eye I recommend the "NanoClip" from Key|Smart for a convenient pocket carry used with the Victorinox lanyard.

Great combo. Please allow me to suggest a fénix AA flashlight to close the deal, the ld12 could be the one. Best regards.

My combo is similar, Bond with pocketclip, plus Farmer X with pocketclip, a NiteIze HipClip which holds up on the alox scales despite being just an adhesive pad. Like you I want to complete the toolset with scissors & saw and tbh I think Vic does those better.

If Leatherman had used a sheep’s foot blade on the Bond, the self stabbing issue would never have happened. I prefer the Curl, which also comes *with* the clip, instead of making you pay extra.

I bought the Bond for a pocket carry. Some of the larger leathermans are a little chunky. I don't do the whole wannabe Barney Fife thing so if it can't be pocket carried comfortably I probably won't have it with me. There are micro multi tools available but the smaller ones I've used are almost useless as a pliers because the heads aren't all that capable and there's not enough handle for leverage.

I might get one of these eventually, just because I have a lot of the other popular models. I actually just cut myself when digging my deployed wave (2nd gen.) out of my jacket pocket...the bottom ouside edge of those pliers is sharp...gonna round it off with a file. Until just recently I carried my modified 2nd gen wave as my edc, but now am enjoying carrying a lighter "Fuse". I carry my fuse in the plier deployed state in a triangular pliers belt holster. I love the fuse because it is tough and light and it is so similar to the fantastic original "PST" but it has that huge advantage of not cutting into your hands when applying a lot of grip pressure. Thanks for the review. It's nice to hear positive reviews on Leatherman because they are the best without question, but so many whiners like to whine and nitpick. It's like they don't understand that everything is a tradeoff in this form factor

I have been using it off and on for a while now. It is a very nice tool. Light slim and good tool set. I like the curl better because the one hand blade and scissors. But I can still recommend the bond. Just watch our for the blade popping up when opening up the other tools next to it.

Carrying a pocket knife or multitool in Canada 🇨🇦 with a locking blade is perfectly legal, but it is a criminal offence to carry anything for the purpose of using it as a weapon. There are European countries that you cannot carry a locking blade.

@@davem.3844 no full auto blades, no gravity blades, and absolutely *nothing* for the purpose of self defense (be it a fixed blade knife, pepper spray, or a ball peen hammer) - those are the *firm* laws here in the North.
The soft laws are way more complicated. Basically you can carry anything as long as you have a non-criminal reason for carrying it; and that determination is made by the officer questioning you on it. A victorinox cadet, milwaukee boxcutter, chris reeve sebenza, home depot brand insulation cutting knife, leatherman wave.. can all land you in trouble if the officer doesn't believe your story. That being said, all of them are perfectly legal if the officer does believe you.
But that being said, GOD FORBID you should use a knife (or anything beyond your own fists) to defend yourself no matter what the threat.. you may end up doing more time than the person attacking you.
