    AE511: @ 14:25 why would we want the poles to be on the limits of our performance requirements? Wouldn't the system stability increase, AND have more margin to the performance requirements if we just put the poles on the real axis?

    Great video. Thank you. I have a question. I tried the following plant: num = [1 1];
    denom = [1 0.3 1]; I have used the gain of 4.3 after drawing the root locus where the response should have been very good, however I didn't find the closed loop response to follow the step input of 1, though the oscillations got reduced than previous open loop response. Could you please comment on that? Thank you once again.
