Yes I sobbed throughout the show! Seeing how they portrayed how mental illness was treated and not understood back then broke my heart. The last scene of episode 6 killed me.

@Groove firstly, that is incorrect. Whilst she was not as visibly mixed as in the show, she was actually the first English queen of verifiable African heritage; albeit many, many generations back. Secondly, this show is a fictionalised dramatization loosely based on the events of Charlotte's life. It is not intended to be historically or factually accurate, so gatekeeping the narrative is plain strange. There is even a disclaimer at the beginning of the first episode.

Same here, Hurin. On Friday, I made plans for Saturday to clean, go shopping, do laundry, and many other things. While eating breakfast at 10am, I put on the first episode of *Queen Charlotte.* And then paused after the 3rd episode to use the bathroom, then came back. At 4pm, I had finished all six episodes, and was crying! My God, it was phenomenal!!!
What I like about Shonda is that she is discovering new talent all over the place 😊

She has transformed Television in so many ways through her casting. Grey's Anatomy and Station 19 are some of my favorite TV shows.
I have to say this was the most moved serie that I’ve ever watched. The way Charlotte never left George’s side. The way she held him. such a beautiful story
India portrayed Charlotte SO flawlessly it was speechless. Her facial expressions and the way that both young charlotte and old, carried themselves were absolutely seamless. I really would’ve thought they were the same person. It seems as though India studied Modern Charlotte very thoroughly and probably worked really hard to encompass her character. It’s insane. I applaud her for her character study and crazy amazing acting. WOW just speechless. 😧😧😧😩😩😭😭💗💗
A huge difference is that the real Charlotte wasn't black. Should Tom Hanks be cast to play Nelson Mandela?!

The fact that Aresma is American is mind blowing. She played Lady Danbury so wonderfully. Queen Charlotte was an amazing story to watch.
For some reason when I see her, I get young Robin Given vibes. Not in a bad way, I think she is beautiful. If for some reason they do a Robin Givens doc, Aresma Thomas should play her. Imo.
The ending was amazing. I cried so much at the scene when they were hiding from the skies and Goerge was remembering everything and they kissed, it was beautiful very touching story. Well done!
The best one of the series. The most realistic one. A lot of compromises were made, a lot of hardships were faced, but that is what made their love so wonderful.
And the stories of Agatha and Brimsley were also very well thought. 👏🏻

Queen Charlotte was so good! My parents were in an arranged marriage and are in a happy marriage to this day 40 years later. They always told me the key to a long happy marriage is choosing to love each other and to both always wanting to make it work. So...I sobbed like a baby in the ending scenes. So sweet.
This spin off arguably tops all of the previous seasons of bridgerton. There was LOVE FIGHT, ANGST CHEMISTRY TEARS REVOLUTIONARY DECISIONS POWER FRIENDSHIP and more. 100/10 for me. I never thought the chemistry between George and Charlotte would top Kanthony but oh boy it did. Im blown away and i sobbed throughout the whole episodes.

I was hooked by the first episode. It's the same feeling I had for the first episode of season 1 of Bridgerton. The last few minutes of episode 6 had me in tears. It is a well-made ending to an excellent show.

This entire series had me undone. I was beside myself, and I didn’t even want to disrupt a moment by drawing in air to breathe. There is something magnetic and electrifying about this particular offshoot, that I did not expect to encounter. I love this one even more than the regular series, which is even unfathomable to me. The passion seemed as raw as the love was beautiful, complex and fragile. I simply adored India and Corey.
The chemistry between George and Charlotte is indubitable. The cast certainly spun magic for the audience to believe what a fair union of a man & wife looks like❣️
I never had this much love for a spin off! For me it was the best season yet. The 2 time lines work, the younger versions are spot on! Story feels a bit more mature

I need to know who styles Golda because all of her looks for interviews are stunning. And she is not shy about wearing color, which I LOVE!! The entire cast is gorgeous and very very talented.
The moment she said I won’t go back bcoz I love you ..I literally got goosebumps..I have nvr felt any character so strong enough to clearly express her feelings without thinking of the consequences..it is such a strong message to everyone to be direct ..there is no harm to be direct
I really liked that each character was given a story line. We got to see the beginning of each character.

The young queen is played so well, the mannerisms, little details in looks, how she twitches her head but the eyes stay focused in the „today‘s“ queen‘s behaviour .. perfectly imitated
India is such a phenomenal actress. Even at her age, she seems to put together and professional! Love her🫶🏽
That scene between them telling one another they love each other and as so impactful it made me cry. It reminded me of my personal situation. This series and the bridgerton series have been done so well!

Every actor is RESPLENDENT!!! This series is sublime!!! I have been riveted with how it unfolds. Everyone's back story is intriguing. Ms. Rhimes does it again.
Welp, just binged watched all yesterday.... neglected my family, my school work, neglected life in general.... it's one of those shows where once you turned it on it is hard to turn off. I'm sad it was only 6 episodes but that's probably for the best as I would still be watching it today. Bridgerton in general has not failed me yet.
India performed with some fierce intensity. She was beautiful in her cadence and the way she used the existing mannerisms of Golda's Charlotte were just.... Immaculate.
This was such a well executed spin-off. NOT something we get enough of. ♥
Edit: FAILED to Credit Arsema Thomas -- Who also absolutely knocked her role out of the park. When she said no to the German brother's proposal -- I felt that so deeply in my soul.
All around this cast was perfection. SO SO well played! ♥
this show was fabulous!! after watching bridgerton, which I have loved so far, and seeing the state of the king which I found so so so sad, I wasn't sure I was going to want a "sad" romance. BUT, the acting, the chemistry between george and charlotte was DIVINE and the show played out in a way that kept it from being overly sad. the very last scene where charlotte goes to tell george about their grandbaby, and she gets under the bed with him, and it shows them young and old, and their feet at the end had me literally bawling my eyes out. older charlotte and younger charlotte - older george and younger george FABULOUS FABULOUS acting. the kings man and queens man all played fabulously, both older and younger lady dansbury SO beautifully played. the kings mother beautifully played. I WAS HOWEVER a little disappointed with such a strong queen to have such bratty grown children, to see lady dansbury helping violet in bridgerton secure the season diamond in both bridgertons so far, yet seem to have such disdain for her own children or having children again with charlotte's brother was kind of sad. but I loved the tie in of violet being lord ledger's daughter and finding the birthday hat her sad had made lady dansbury that whole thing didnt resonate till the tea at violets house and the birthday hats were out. WOW well done shondaland!!!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED.

I binge watched this last night and I think this is my favorite in the Bridgerton stories on Netflix thus far. It was fantastic!
So...initially, I was gonna skip watching this till after season 3 came out because I was not at all excited for this and I had been waiting sooo long for Polin's story to finally come..with that said, I AM SOO FREAKING HAPPY I WATCHED THIS! LIke holllyyyyyy cow! I loved every minute of it! Also, I dont know why but I felt like there was sooo much more substance in this short 6 episode story! Like it had it's funny comedic moments as well as moments where I was holding back crocodile tears! I loved season 2 of Bridgerton and the slow burn it had, but this was like a curve ball of emotions I was not expecting! All the actors did such an amazing job like even the side characters were just sooo good and added so much to the plot! When the king at the end said "You did not go over the wall"...that was GAMEOVER for me and the tears just wouldn't stop!!!
Go watch it guys! Every single one of them performed excellently both present and past versions; the side cannons were also a brilliant touch.
Everyone on this show deserves a damn award !!!
Even though it was devastatingly emotional and intense, I actually carried so much joy watching from the very opening scene until their last under the bed kiss! 10/10!
I watched it and i loved it. It holds its own ground, and stands on its own feet. It's not a bridgerton story. It's much more than that.

I could write a thousand page book about my feelings on this show. Instead, I will simply tell you, *Queen Charlotte, as a show, the entire cast, the directing, the costumes, the music, and especially the writing, was beyond STELLAR!!!* Once the last episode finished, and I finally stopped crying tears of love, sadness and joy, my first thought was, "We need 50 more seasons of this!!!" *Shonda Rhimes is a phenomenal genius.*
The most heartbreaking thing was understanding the references to the stars. I wonder how many people noticed that Agatha looked at the stars with her husband and George's mother gave a back story with saying the back story to what caused his illness and he only felt safe under the bed from the stars but was at the same time searching them. 10/10

I just finished the series and I absolutely loved this season! It was amazing!!!! I was so glad the story of Queen Charlotte was finally told and the characters chosen truly shows Shonda’s talent in writing and choosing the perfect fit❤

I went into this show with 0 expectations. I loved Bridgerton S1, felt S2 was lackluster as a book reader (I wanted more Kathony, less Edwina and Featherington drama). QC blew me away and became my favorite of the three. Incredible.

The casting was perfect and I've never seen such a chemistry like Corey and India have, it felt so real! Arsema was perfect as well, I saw her and said: that's Lady Danbury. I wish I could forget that I saw Queen Charlotte just to watch it again and feel all over again what I've felt!

@@mattwilliam5522 they're the same color in all their appearences together, its honestly just the lighting that makes the difference that big, the scenes of Adjoa are mostly from outside and her younger self are inside the castle. Adjoa Andoh posted a pic of herself younger complimenting how much they look alike.

This is so GOOD! The cast, the costumes, and the story; my god you guys, the story! I never thought we could get such a rich story! I loved both the past and the present plotlines. I'm perfectly satisfied with the way this ended but I sincerely hope we see more of present Queen Charlotte -and King George if he may- in Season 3. She's just an amazing character. Seeing more of Lady Danbury goes without saying! She may not be a queen but she rules!

Both India and Arsema did phenomenal in this series! I enjoyed this more than the original Bridgerton seasons, which I didn’t think would be possible.
I hope Netflix green lights more seasons or other Bridgerton spin offs.
While I agree, the ending felt like I had closure and it was a nice way to end it.
And i'd add that I wouldnt want them to ruin the series by adding to it unnecessarily.

It was absolutely brilliant and I am in total love with it!!! It’s my favorite Bridgerton!! And Queen Charlotte’s story was so touching and tender and fierce!! India was fantastic, her chemistry with Corey was palpable! And Lady Danbury with Lord Ledger such beautiful bittersweetness!! I was moved by the entire tale, and felt very invested in the story!! Thank you Shonda Rhimes for your brilliance and clout: representation matters!!! Even though this is a fictionalized tale, it is important to show that Black bodies were a part of aristocracy, even if not in the way the show portrays, but they were there. And Black bodies were more than just slaves 👏🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽
