    Me and my dad installed a twin engine set up on a 16 foot sea swirl using two 20 hp evenrudes same year same model. My dad went down to the marina and ordered a reversed prop for one of them so that when installed one was actually running in reverse and getting thrust in the right direction as the other 20 hp, this way they would not rob from each other at max speed which resulted in a nearly 25% more thrust . Result was that the boat would pull away from our flat bottom boat with a 50 hp mercury .

    “It is a pain in the butt to run both motors”…also a PIA to get stranded if you only had one motor!

    Great video! You need to put a 15 carb on the 9.9 so they will both turn at the same rpm. The 15 produces about 1000 to 1500 more rpm than the 9.9

      @@Marcs_TV maybe look for a 15hp carburater then the 9.9 will be a 15hp. those 9.9 engines are actually 15hp with smaller carburater.

    Awesome video! Hey how do you control throttle on both? Do you just use one as a booster? Or does it lock into speed? I've only owned inboard looking at a 14' with a single 9.8hp. Want to buy a additional 9.8 and hook it up like you did.

    • @Marcs_TV
      @Marcs_TV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just have to twist the handle on both engines but they hold that throttle setting once you set them. I am sure you could find a way to tie them together I just have not yet.

      Yes you can. I ran a 10 and an 18 both johnson in the 50's on a 15ft Crestliner Voyager. Dad ran a 7.5 with the 18. We had a dual control box two shifters and two throttles. In the late 70's I swapped all the motors for a new 25. Two seasons later it quit about 2 miles off Lamoine Beach, East of Mt Desert Island(Bar Harbor). Never will I ever go single engine again.
