The Man is a God. Voice of an Angel. Limitless Songwriting Talent. Best Band I’ve ever seen Live. God Bless Scotland for giving us .... Mr Paul Buchanan & The Wonderful Blue Nile.
Few songs capture the enigma of the small hours after midnight, like this one. It's lonely, though inviting. Beautiful & captivating in its honesty, & completeness.
Goosebumps. I had the good fortune 31 years ago this past fall to have a friend down the hall in my dorm at uni in the U.S. who shared his vinyl copy of "A Walk Across the Rooftops" with me. "Tinseltown in the Rain" and that entire album mesmerized me, and still do. PB's voice and music are still sui generis, decades later.
SInce '83 and A Walk Across The Rooftops the poetic tones of Paul Buchanan and The Blue Nile have brought 'Peace at Last" to this Glasgow boy. Thanks to MrShereco12... you have brought together some of the finest live and acoustic music available anywhere. Roll on the next tour!
Just rediscovered Paul Buchanan whilst lying on mi bed in Koh Samui Nov 2023, been listening again and again since. What a voice and what a band Blue Nile. Thanks❤
its simply unique, wathever he does, acustic, vocal, orchestral, when I die Im sure ill meet him , togheter in heaven whit all his foollowers,no words in that movie only his BSO
I think the painting is L.S.Lowry, chanterlands :-) I LOVE this song, and so good to hear it acoustic. But then, everything associated with The Blue NIle is just sweet music to my ears, thank to the OP for sharing this xx
So stirring, and powerfully emotive, as it may have been the first moment that soul cried out that way, As in real time. Bless You, Blessed Me, Thank You
shivers down my spine, highly emotional. It makes you want to fall in love again... :( Absolutely wonderful . Thanks for posting it,MrSherco, regards-- Diana

edwardar forget the numbers and use your ears: this audio is superior to 99% of anything here. Thanks for MrSherco12 to sharing this unique performance:)
Brilliant. Thanks so much - is there anywhere I can get a better quality version of this? I noticed it's only available at 240p (I know this is video quality, but it also affects the bitrate of the audio).
Nice but for me the emotion of the song is all about the higher octave in the last verse (as per the recorded version). Doesn't it depend on that for its power really?
+Simon Hoban Shut up ya pretentious muso tit...It's just a beautiful version of a beautiful song. Calm down, have a wine and enjoy. Your missing the point of the whole song if your bothered about the musicality. and I think its a key change not a raised octave. Anyway kido, just get your heart broken then listen to it lol.
+Craig Miller In reference to your previous comment I understand that someone of your values may appreciate that the internet is full of idiots like me but, please step back and take a look at yourself please. Your comment suggested negativity to this version and that I cannot accept being the indolent fool that I obviously appear to be. Have some humour and have some understanding in your life please and reasonable, measured people like me can love stuff and enjoy stuff without any gash about what a song relies on for it's power!!!! plus that other cock who mentioned Coldplay in the same stream as Paul Buchanan needs a new music collection lol.
Paul Buchanan has a voice made in heaven, he's on a different level. Such a beautiful song.
Just beautifully sung innits organic form...no big production. Simply superb. Thanks Paul 🌹

I've been listening to and loving the music from the blue nile for almost 30yrs and it still touches me with the beautiful lyrics and sounds.
Yeah me too. Birthday present in the mid 80's was Blue Nile in Cambridge. First album kept me sane for while.
Captures the essence of midnight.
In love with his voice and emotion for a very long time....pure beauty !
Me too...haunting, sincere and passionate
Such feeling oozing out of every pore of this man’s body and soul
poetry, music, art, soul, heart, joy, tear, sad, lonely, content, respect.......fulfilment.
The original was sublime - this is even better. Just astonishingly beautiful.
Why does this make me cry every time I listen to
it?
Cuz you are human
We are all yearning and needing the right music to remind us ...........
Touching and beautiful. What an uncommon talent.
Stunning vocals.....worthy to be mentioned alongside Brian ferry, David sylvian.....voices of liquid gold
Great call, Sylvian is another lifetime fave of mine!
@deltic17 was lucky enough to watch sylvian and Robert fripp in the early 90s at Manchester opera House.......fantastic evening.
best band to come out of scotland pb has a great voice

Pray for me
Praying for the light
Baby, baby
Let's go out tonight
Where the lights all shine
Like I knew they would
Be mine all mine
Baby, I'll be good
Pray for me
Praying for the light
Baby, baby
Let's go out tonight
I know a place,
Where everything's alright
Alright
Let's go out tonight
Where the cars go by
All the day and night
Why don't you say
What's so wrong tonight
I pray for love,
Coming out alright, yeah,
Oh baby baby,
Let's go out tonight, yeah.
Baby, baby
Let's go out tonight
Let's go out tonight
Tonight

Good point there...Coldplay wldnt exist but for Blue Nile..

Simon Hoban hahaha nice to see wee fishes still exist lol xxx

Really sorry. I have no idea. it was just a random grab off the web...... I like it too though.
I think it is called 'The Lonely Man' by an artist called Nell Nicol...I am trying to track it down but it is highly elusive.
