Little note about Daisuke's death: When the crew first enters the cargo hold, anya mentions the mouthwash has too much sugar to be considered a disinfectant. So, when jimmy poured dragonbreath onto daisukes wounds, he basically doomed the infection. Listerine and other mouthwashes almost never have any sugar. Sugar is bad for the teeth, so how much is dragonbreath actually cleaning? I do think thats for sure metaphorical. Something that claims to be good for you is actually rotting your teeth.
For context to anyone who doesn't understand: it is implied that Jim is an exconvict (the Caged and Misunderstood line) and Curly gave Jim a chance at a job. Possibly knowing Jim for years before Jail and thought Jim had redeemed himself after working with him for years. Then one day randomly Jim relapses and SA's Anya for some reason. The canon then goes from there. At the end when Jim talks to Pollie he calls you old man because Jim sees Anya and his kid as a Horse. (Pollie and Anya share Dialogue color's) Apparently the horse is near the dorms and Jim would have had to pass the Horse to get to Anya's room. The horse speaking to Jim as he passed it. Jim thus mentally links pleasure and Anya with the horse. To make it worse at the end when Jim walks through the hallway with Employee cards covered all over you can notice the fact that Anya's card is always covered by a different employee card. Considering that this is in Jim's head you can figure out that Jim doesn't really care about Anya *OR* wants to block out what happened. It shows how little he thought about his victim.
I'm pretty sure Jimmy did care at some points about Anya he just couldn't handle the guilt that her death was on him which I'm pretty sure is why when we find out she died by overdose it's all blurred out because he couldn't come to terms that it was his fault until later we get to see what happened to her

Mikey watching your play through of mouthwashing was really nice because you picked up on a lot of narrative clues from the beginning. Since the player is set up with Jimmy first, it makes people sympathize with him and excuse a lot of his behavior from the beginning. It’s still crazy to me how the Pony symbolizes Anya and the baby as that monster in Jimmy’s eyes, he doesn’t see her as human, he’s more concerned with Curly than Anya herself. He didn’t say a single thing about her, even when she committed. He didn’t care about her. Curly being a bystander is also so realistic, his reaction is one of many, where when they’re told someone they’re close with is a predator their first reaction is to take it with a grain of salt. In Curly’s case he wanted everyone to be okay with each other but that was just not possible anymore. Like Anya said they didn’t put locks in the sleeping quarters because Pony Express also doesn’t care about the safety of their female employees, so she needed that gun in case Jimmy tried to do it again
I've watched a lot of playthroughs, and no one really remembered that Anya specifically said that the mouthwash should NOT be used as a disinfectant due to the high sugar content. Jimmy essentially sped up Daisuke's death by pouring sugar water into his burns.

What I would also note is how Jimmy #1 quickly decides to drug Swansea and with a decent amount of confidence switches out the materials for disinfectant, knowing how much to use and #2 despite there being multiple bottles of paracetamol, theres only *one* bottle of disinfectant in the hallway? Despite the fact that theyre maybe only a quarter through their journey? And there was no access to the hallway cabinet before Jimmy broke the foam, so it cant have been used on Curly? And also #3 Jimmy is able to say with confidence "Hes probably just going to wake up with a headache, he might not even realise that weve done anything." What I'm implying is: Jimmy is a fucking monster and may have drugged Anya numerous times and used the disinfectant bottles in the hallway to do so. Also, the "cartoon horses" thing was probably (mostly) a joke to make Anya uncomfortable. Another sad thing to note; after the crash Anya sleeps near the Polle statue that speaks when you move near it. Likely so she cant be crept up upon when shes sleeping.
I really liked this playthrough! it's refreshing to see a playthrough where they actually get it fast, especially Curly's situation being karma for not doing anything about Anya or Jimmy while he still could. 1:30:58 There was unfortunately no way to save Daisuke. Let's quickly go through what could have helped him : Medical supplies to treat his wounds ? In shortage down to disinfectant. A competent medical practitioner ? Dead by her own hands. All that remained on the Tulpar were everything that couldn't have been helpful to Daisuke in his situation : An indecisive cowardly captain, who is responsible for his current predicament. Mouthwash, which the nurse has stated the very second they got their hand on the cargo that it couldn't be used as disinfectant from how much sugar there is in a single bottle. Daisuke is suffering from his wounds and an infection so the mouthwash made his situation go from bad to worse. Swansea putting him out of his misery was sadly all that could be done at that moment.
The reason why curly was so calm or trying to keep everyone together was because the ship couldn't work without Jimmy or Anya he needed both of them they were in the middle of space they can't kick Jimmy out or call the popo out in space
Jimmy was a loose Cannon, curly could've reported him or even scold him. But he didn't. It's also possible he could've been Harassing anya(at the psyche evals) but again, curly never took it seriously.

They had 8 months left and Curly had to figure out how to get them all back without endangering them and he may have unfortunately needed Jimmy to help pilot at any point in those 8 months, he had at most 2 days to plan how to handle Jimmy

During the scene with Anya and curly having their light discussion, Anya pointed out how she could only focus on the dead pixel in the screen(obviously referring to Jimmy) and curly said it didn't ruin the illusion for jim because he saw the bigger picture . Willing to look pass small problems i.e jimmy.

Curly is also mutilated by the crash and cannot speak or move; he is kept alive via a dwindling supply of painkillers. Jimmy declares himself acting captain as a result, claiming that Curly caused the crash after going postal. When food and medical supplies begin to run low after two months, the crew open their confidential shipment, discovering that it consists solely of mouthwash. They drink it for the sugar and ethanol, and the ensuing intoxication inflames tensions further. Eventually, Anya locks herself in the medical bay with Curly. After failing to convince Swansea to help him break in, Jimmy knocks him out with the ship's sole bottle of rubbing alcohol and sneaks into the utility bay to find tools. Which didn't end up well.

Curly is an enabler the parallels you gathered between Anya and curly were impressive. Enablers have the power to stop it but dont and the oppresed lack the power to bring change and now hes no less more capable pf doing anything the exact same way anya felt, hopeless. I also find it enteresting that anya said something like she didn't want to force curly to take the pills flew over my hed and then i remembered shes pregnant so she was probaly scollded by jimmy to "take care of it".

Not even 5 seconds after I put it on, my “friend” who was in the passage seat next to the driver immediately turned it off, they started laughing and made my worst fear come true 💀
Everytime I watched someone play this, I didn't understand what made Jimmy a bad guy and people saying how AWFUL, how HEINOUS he is. I didn't understand the story. But the way Mikey explained it. I think I get it now.
