    You did a great thing - you proved that 22 LR can be way more ACCURATE than modern PCP airrifles. PCP are more easily to be tuned to pellets/slugs by means of simple velocity changing and projectiles are more uniform . 22 LR needs more knowledge, more work for ammo chosing, more complicated tuning and more PURSUIT FOR ACCURACY. You did it ! Thank you!

    • @hotchihuahua1546
      @hotchihuahua1546 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      22 LR should be more accurate up to this point . introduction to slugs in the PCP world still in its infancy with high end PCP controlling velocities to within 5 fps on average look for that to change . It will make it more fun and advancements for both sides to stay ahead of the game .

    Really appreciate what you do and how well you do it. I am a 70 year old beginner at this .22 accuracy shooting. I was in the store looking for some ammo for my lever guns and saw this CZ 457 Trainer and just liked the way it looked and felt. A couple of months later and I have tried 4 scopes and now have a Boyd's stock on order. Have been learning a lot from your channel. It's the first u-tube I have ever subscribed to. Muzzle velocity spreads are huge in the rim fire game. I shoot a magneto speed along side the barrel without it touching the barrel and on the best 22 rim fire ammo the extreme spreads are big. By using this technique, it will help one understand the limits of precision at elr 22 rim fire precision and accuracy. Great content!! Thanks!!

    Impressive. CZ has a winner with the 457.
    My wife has the 457 in the "At-One" laminated stock, 24" barrel. She regularly shoots groups within those little 1" orange dots at 100 yards with Wolf Match Xtra and CCI standard velocity Target ammo. Even with cheap, bulk ammo, her rifle will shoot just over 1" @ 100 yds. Her rifle is fitted with an old Weaver 2-7x scope and it seems to be all she needs. She has not fired the rifle beyond 100 yds. though.

    I have switched from Eley to Lapua/SK. I have a couple of good Lots of Lapua Center-X and SK Long Range. My Bergara really likes one Lot of SK Biathlon. Most folks don't realize that premium ammo, like Eley Tenex, must be Lot tested. I have had a couple of Lots of Eley Team that out grouped good Lots of Tenex. I plan on having a 4 grove Shilen Ratchet barrel installed on my Bergara just to see how accurate it can be. Trying to decide what chamber to use. I love how my H&R 12 adjusts headspace. Very nice shooting at 150 Yds, especially that .78” group. I’m curious about what you can accomplish with sorting premium ammo. I’m a benchrest competitor and If I could consistently shrink my groups by 1/16” at 50 Yds, I would win most of the time. After thinking on a barrel swap I decided, I will always be wandering if, so I went to Lilja page as I have been off and on for a while and darn it the heavy barrel is out of stock. I have the MTR VPR. Shoots good. Did you do different torque on the barrel mount screws? Man that is a lot of tinkering if so. Do 1 thing at a time so you know what helps or degrades accuracy. I just have to wait till Lilja gets in more stock. Good video. Alway excited to see what your up to.

    • @PursuitofAccuracy
      @PursuitofAccuracy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I messed with that trying to minimize cold bore shift in my groups and since then always go back to that.
      The action screws didnt seem to have much afffect to accuracy on the manners stock.....probably the pillars and the super tight inletting.
      The headspace hasnt so much affected accuracy as it has consistency in accuracy

  • @scootertrash911
    @scootertrash911 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just received a new VPT but it has to go back , one stock screw is so tight that I can't get it loose. There must be a hundred inch pounds of torque on the screw. Just wanted to adjust the trigger but I found out why it shoots a little weird probably. Shot a bug that landed on my target at 75 meters but it never settled down to repeating that kind of accuracy.

    Great shooting and info. I’ve only shot about 300 rounds thru my new MTR and best so far is 1.15” group at 100 yards. I did have a couple of flyers and would love to know if sorting can get rid of those. I have a lot of ammo testing to do yet and would like to see how the R50 or Special Match from RWS does in this rifle.

    I'm not sure you will see it in rimfire but when I was competing on the Field Target Circuit (Air Rifle) www.aafta.org we would see shifts in our optics from temperature changes. Yes the scopes will shift poi if the tempature swings enough. Many ran temp guages on the scope bodies and would change the dope accordingly. The Nikko Sterlings and Schmidt and Benders were notorious for it. Our distances were much shorter but our targets were also a lot smaller. You displayed some excellent shooting here. Thumbs up.
