Awesome declutter and sorting! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Teach your family to always keep the toilet seat down. Actually, shut it before you flush. This will help keep the germs and bacteria out of your air and bathroom. Thank you again.
Yesterday, I KonMari'd my make up and ended up with 1 lipstick, 1 mascara, 2 foundations in 2 colours, 1 eyeshadow palet and 2 seperate eyeshadows, 1 eyebrow mascara, 3 nailpolish and 1 nailpolishremover. And one bodylotion. The rest was thrown out mainly because it was older then a year. KonMari said in her book that makeup has a shelf life. I was surprised to find out that indeed on some of the makeup it said 6 months after opening.
Yes it totally does but if I'm honest I can't say I have ever stuck to that! Am so guilty of keeping makeup well over that shelf life, naughty me! But it sounds like you had a great clear out, but it feels good, and if you really need to replace any make up with new stuff now is a good time. Just remember to be very conscious and selective about what new items you bring into your home now. Thanks for watching
Ha ha, I had a little chuckle to myself when I saw your make up collection. Well done for going back in and thinning it out even more. I think you did a great job. Thanks for the video.
A very successful declutter, well done you! I am very impressed! And you have inspired me to declutter my lipsticks next. There are so many that I don't wear!
It surprising how makeup accumulates, I wouldnt even call myself a makeup fan, I wear very little on a daily basis, lipstick just happens to be my fav bit of makeup, so i seem to have added to it over the years but never thrown any out!
Boy can I relate, I am swimming in shampoos, conditioners, hair creams, body creams. Just looking at the mounds of stuff in containers gives me anxiety. I will be organizing and tossing some stuff away.
This is amazing! Well done. Would love an update. How are things 2 years later? Also, I have a two year old who got into my nail polish, which was a disaster! Hope your toddler hasn't discovered them!!!
Love the folding method for all my tops and trousers, but I don't have time or energy to fold my socks!! lol! How is your declutter going. Although I have technically done everywhere except the attic I still fell I need to shift more stuff, but we are being far ore conscious and discussing things we don't need now to try and shift larger things or groups of items like all our CD's
Two Hearts One Roof it’s going good. I use a regular folding technique for socks. I use the Kon Mari folding technique for my shirts, jeans, and shorts. It saves a lot of room in my drawers. The decluttering is going good. I gave over half of my lotions to my cousin. I’ll be buying more after Christmas. I’m trying to use up the rest throughout the months. I went through my makeup, and threw away the ones that weren’t good or I didn’t like the color. Threw away the nail polishes that I don’t wear or were no good.
It does make you feel so much better when you can clear lots of stuff out and actually not just refill the space with more stuff. We've managed to last until now finishing off shower gels from Christmas, I still have 2 small ones left from gift sets but ill actually have to buy some this month, the first in close to a year, but now I've used up all the others I feel so much better as we didn't just waste them by throwing them away.
5 months after KM clothes & accessories, are you wearing 80%? I found it efficient to sort jewelry 1st by 'metal' [gold, silver], beads & other by color [white, creme, biege, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, navy, indigo, purple, violet, pink, grey, charcoal, black] as I wish them to support outfit. I really love my stuff post KM so I'm actually wearing accessories..
No! In all honesty, I definitely feel I am wearing more than before simply because they are all better organised and more visible than before. But I am actually planning to do another run through of them soon and clear out some more that haven't been touched and I am realising I don't really love them. There are still pieces that I adore that I do not fit though, so I joined Weight Watchers this week to try and do my first 2018 goal and lose my baby weight finally. I have given myself 6 months to do it, or I need to just let go of all the too small items once and for all. Good idea on the jewellery organising, might have to take the time and try that
You did a great job. When I starting working this it will be a big mess for sure!! I was being nosy and saw your were reading The Girl in the Spider Web! I love that series it was sooo good!
I haven't actually read that one yet. I love the first ones, and picked this up as a follow up but I think you can tell its a different author. Ive managed the first few chapters but took a break. I'm going away next week so think I will take it on the plane with me and try tackle it then. Is it as good as the first ones?
I'm always horrified when I see loads of toiletries (whether mine or someone else's) at how much money that represents, and how many 'spares' we're encouraged to buy...
Totally! I was guilty of buying 'spare' stuff all the time when I saw items on offer, but they often end up sitting in drawers for months or never getting used. Now I have stripped back the plan is only to purchase single items when they are needed. I'm hoping lots of this will last till xmas as I know I will get beauty stuff as gifts so it will save me buying more for a while longer
In all honesty it's probably not the best place for them, I should try and separate the box into 2 compartments really. Its just been something we have done since we moved into this house.
Aww thank you! Im really enjoying the less cluttered look of my rooms now, can't wait to crakc on with more categories, there will be more up next week! Thanks for subbing, will swing by your channel in the morning!
I'm currently obsessed with decluttering my home and I love watching other people declutter as well! This is fantastic! 😊🌟
Oh I have lots of other KonMari videos if you want to check them out! Its kinda addictive watching, Ive seen so many myself now

It’s really good to know that I’m not the only one hoarding toiletries 😂

I found it pretty easy to do, hope you do too, good luck!

I’ve been using the Kon Mari method for decluttering clothes, makeup, lotions, and etc. I also use the Kon Mari method for folding clothes.

This is very satisfying!
Totally!! It is lovely when you finally finish a category or area of your house!

Aww thank you! I can't take credit really the previous owner put it in, I've just added the storage and styling touches
Great job!! I hope you recycled all those plastic bottles!!
Thank you and yep straight in the plastics bag

Yes you can tell if from a different author, but it was still very good.
where did you get the wicker organizer? I LOVE it
Oh I've had it 2 years now but pretty sure it was a furniture shop on eBay, they had loads of sizes available too
I would like to have seen your thinking of what you got rid of
great job!
Thank you!
Try doing this with ADD - My struggles 🤪
Oh no! Bet that can't be easy

Great job!! You did so much! New subscriber :)
Aww thank you! It has been a lot of hard work but I am loving the changes I am seeing already! thanks for subbing!! More Kon Mari coming next week!
Yay!! Can’t wait :)
where did you get the thing you store your nail polish in?
It was off eBay, just search for perspex or acrylic nail polish storage
Are you ever worried that keeping razors in with toothbrushes will result in cut fingers when you just reach in?
In all honesty it's probably not the best place for them, I should try and separate the box into 2 compartments really. Its just been something we have done since we moved into this house.
It amazes me how much $ that is spent on chemicals.
Very true, we spend far too much on products like this
Hi I noticed with your site m s half I would have combined them. Just cut one open and pour into the other
Great tip thanks!
