I love your voice and your positive attitude in spite of having such a massive collection of make up.You have energised me to do my own declutter with the Konmari method.
I just did a mini purge as I’m not well and have a few set backs in terms of anxiety issues ect ect and it’s easier for me to break things up into little sections too, it’s ok that you kept most of it, you will probably get rid of more and even if you don’t that’s ok too. Hope your feeling well
Well done for carrying on even though you've had setbacks. It's a daunting process. Just keep going and doing as much as you can. You're doing really well :)
Good for you. I’m inspired now. Thanks for showing your process. I’m overwhelmed by beauty products too - hardest category for me. It’s hard because there’s something I like about each item - that’s why they never get tossed. I feel anxiety, too but I’m slowly getting better at letting go - have to remind myself that “stuff” is causing me stress, keeping nice things from people who would love it, and is making me feel guilty for wasting so much money. I need to take the plunge.
Thank you! Yes, you should definitely give it a go. I was the same as you at first. There was a time when I didn't want to part with anything and every time I got rid of something it would cause me anxiety. Now I get a huge buzz from getting rid of stuff I don't use because I've realised I can enjoy my space so much more when it's not overcrowded. Don't give up. It's worth it in the end! :D
If you have products that have not been opened you can donate them to a women's shelter. Awesome declutter! My lipsticks are seriously out of control. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Thanks for the video content! Forgive me for the intrusion, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you considered - Mahorrla Control Clutter Method (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good one of a kind product for decluttering your home minus the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate after many years got astronomical results with it.
I sold a lot of the products that im not going to use. I had a lot of extra stuff from being subscribed to a beauty subscription for like a year. I just decided what i was in no way going to use or just tried once and whatever, grouped them with 10 products per box and they sold for 10 euro easily. Most buyers were like college kids that dont have the money for it and they were realllly happy to get nice stuff for cheap :) (friends and family didnt want or need anything as some did the same subscriptions).. i also cancelled the subscription. I still have quite a bit of extras, but they are backups of things i know i like and use up all the time. I feel a lot better about my pile though after watching ppls declutters. I have way less than most. I think you did great by the way :)
That's such a good idea! I'm glad your decluttering is going well. I've often thought of joining a subscription service, but I'd probably end up like you and have a bunch of stuff I wouldn't use. Your idea of sticking to things you now you like is a much better idea!
I just uploaded my closet clean out and my next goal is my makeup. I am so not looking forward to it but I am looking forward to being able to find all of the makeup i want when i want it. Love the videos!
This is the first video of yours that I watched but I subscribed within the first minute because I love you so much already. You are beautiful and seem so kind and I don't want to sound weird but I love your voice too. ♥️
Please take this as an advice: 1. You really should clean your brushes (or buy new ones if it is not possible to clean them properly) 2. To avoid skin and eye problems like acne or inflammation you also should not keep: powder-based makeup, pencils and nail polishes opened for more than 3 years/older than 5 years; mascaras opened for more than 9 months/older than 2 years; foundations, creams, balms and oils opened for more than 1 year/older than 2 years; all other cosmetics opened for more than 2 years/older than 3 years. I believe you will not even throw away far more, but also will think twice before you buy something new...
Pysslis It is not becase of hygiene, but because of chemical reactions. Nail polishes consist of pigments and chemicals that are keeping pigments together and chemicals that allow nail polish to dry and so on. However after few years they split and nail polish is not even usable anymore. Opening the bottle will - obviously - speed up this process. Or why do you think they put expiration dates on the bottles?
Kitty Seven I own approximately 500 nail polishes, several of them 10-15 years old and they still work great. I've seen maybe three polishes get runny and change colors, it rarely happens. "Your nail polish should last forever, as long as you store it properly,” -Essie "The Period-After-Opening number is required for most cosmetics by the European Union (EU), but it is rather meaningless for nail lacquer." -OPI
Higher quality make up, is made in smaller portions for the same reason. My brother was a model in Europe for many years and his make up artist recommended one specific line of make up.
Aimee Rebecca it's an eye opener, isn't it. Now that you see you don't need much do you think you could buy less? Imagine how much you'd save on Make up alone!
hahahah love this video hahah the begining is incredible .i end up being a minimizer now as well lol . for me is important to hae some choices . i have few of each things most of my things are not even high end accept foundation and lipstick rest is just primark and just aliexpress . i made my DECLUTTER video just yesterday and today i manage to fit all in one small place omg . i have bit more than u have but u have more quality products than me . i have lets say 8 lipsticks 3 foundations 1 powder 1 concealer 2 small palletes 2 highlites 1 contour pen 3 blushes 3 maskaras and few liners . i have few sets of brushes bc got present from before . thats it few of each is pretty minimalistic . if i go travel i take 1 foundation 1 powder 1 concealer few brushes 1 pallete and 2 lipsticks so lets say i take half lol . fits in small beuty bag anyway :) so minimalistic life especially with make up is very important . first every product has experation date , second getting too much make choice harder of what to use . waste more money on products we dont like is also something important to consider .

By The Way did u buy Emergency Kit And Urgent tools ! Like Some Bluster and Bandage panadol . Burning Cream Like “Mebo” and Urgent Tools like Small home Kit for Assembling And disassemble and Have a Small fire Distinguisher .. etc
So I'm here in 2021 recognizing a lot of yr makeup and skincare used during yr no buy and pan projects in present day. I'm a research chemist and wanted to point out that things have expiration dates for a reason. Just a gentle reminder to look for the little period after opening (PAO) jar and remember throw these out. Have you tried using a drawer liner or a glass top for your dressing table? Might help protect against the mess. I believe Marie Kondo also recommends keeping a cloth or rag around your sink to make cleaning it up much easier --- you could easily do the same for your vanity. :)
The drawers don't get too bad, but the top is always a mess. I don't know what I was thinking when I got white! Keeping a rag handy is great idea. Thanks! :)
Amanda Martin its ikea alex drawers and probably linmann in top. Linmann (or however its written) is very cheap but not thaaaaat great quality. I have it to and its doing fine but i think in a few years will need to be replaced for sure. Just for awareness... its not actually a desk. Nothing connects the plate on top of the alex drawers. Its simply put on top of it. And they advised me against using something like mirror tape to glue it down cause it will ruin both pieces if ripped apart. Just saying ;) but it does a great job.
I got them in Ikea. You can get different sized tops to go over, but the quality of the tops isn't great. I've had mine for about two years and it really needs replacing now!

I like that you show how hard it is for you and how it it makes you feel. Self-reflection is key.
Also you inspire me to follow your example. :)
Thank you! It's definitely not easy, but it's worth it!
Aimee, thank you for being so honest about your decluttering journey
Thank you for watching! :)
Wow consumerism at its finest.... We have all been there... Awareness is key
I‘m with you 100%, I have a very similar amount of stuff/anxiety from separation...just love all my make-up!! 😭
I know how you feel, but it felt so good to clear out the stuff I don't use and get some space.
I love the way you say "here," also great video & tidying inspiration!
Haha thank you!
Mary Monica I was going to say the same thing! 😊

wow, I am impressed with the amount of stuff you have. The money you would save by doing a "no buy" challenge and just use it up...
That's what I've been doing since making this video. It's been great for my wallet haha!
"This drawer won't even close what is my life" me in daily life situations. XD
Haha! You and me both!
I get it. Totally. Buying makeup feels good. I am trying for the "less is more" perspective while doing my upcoming cleanup.
It's a much better perspective. My attitude towards buying things is so different now.

A sheet of glass cut to the size of your dresser really helps to keep it easy to clean;)
Thank you! I love that tip!

I love that idea! Thanks so much for sharing!
I just cleaned out my makeup last week! it's so satisfying to do a good clean out of products :) love your personality!!
Thank you! Yes, it's such a great feeling when it's done! Well done for getting through it because it's a major task! :)

Tori Collins Aww thank you so much and welcome to the family! 😍
LOL, the first thing you identified to throw out is one of my absolute faves!!
Haha! This is why my friends and I always rummage through one another's junk piles. One person's trash is definitely another person's treasure 😂
Love your pink lipstick that you're wearing. What shade is it?
If memory serves it was the Revlon Balm Stain in Honey. Odds are it was because it's my absolute favourite! :D
Aimee Rebecca thank you!

Kitty Seven there is no exoneration date for nail polish. As long as you store them properly they are good for many years.
Pysslis i believe they were refering to anything that goes on the face given the examples/dates they used
Mrz Hyde She wrote verbatim, nail polishes opened for more than 3 years/ older than 5 years.
Pysslis It is not becase of hygiene, but because of chemical reactions. Nail polishes consist of pigments and chemicals that are keeping pigments together and chemicals that allow nail polish to dry and so on. How did the move go? I've moved over seas and it's amazing how you can live with so little
You're so right! I only brought two cases and when I got here I realised I only needed one.

I know I’m really late and this was really old but where did u get ur makeup desk?
It's from IKEA.
I love that she Welsh
I love that I'm Welsh too! 😂
I was trying to pin point it. I was thinking Welsh at first. I blame Torchwood.
How you get the thing behind the draw is you take out the draw and take the thing out from behind the draw and put the draw back into the dresser
The thing with the drawers I have is they don't pop out. You have to dismantle the unit to pull them all the way out, which is pretty annoying.

I bet!
Did you fix the drawer yet? You could just unscrew one of them. There are only 2 screws on the side.
Yeah, I got my Dad to do it 😂
I feel really guilty for saying this but I have more stuff than that, and have no idea where to begin!!
I know that feeling! This was my second round of decluttering my makeup and I can honestly say it gets easier every time. Just do the best you can and then revisit it in a couple of months. Each time you do it you can get rid of more and more.

South Wales

Thanks :)

That sounds like an effective way to stop clutter building up.
Asking the question and listening to the answer before even buying saves even more - money and environment.

Yep :)
“Here”
Where is her accent from x
Maeli Tickle Welsh and it sounds lovely imo 😊
In theory, you have to look at all contributing factors. Depending on cleaning, how sanitary you are and disinfect your products. Preservatives and chemicals are in a lot of make up...
Hi are you selling all the de-cluttered make up? :)
I'm not sorry. I gave it away to the people mentioned in the video :)
😊 u r already in Kuwait
Welcome again
Thank you!
You are funny and inspiring.
Thank you so much! :)

I am thankful that men do not have to wear makeup.
It saves you guys so much time and money 😂
That's so true. I also know some men who do a significantly better job of their makeup than I do!
Lol no one has to. It's a choice.

It's probably because I'm so clumsy and spill everything haha! Rest assured, every time I do a declutter, everything gets wiped over with antibac so it's not dirty - just stained with foundation fingerprints and the like. Anything past its use-by date goes out, but I wouldn't waste perfectly good products just because they're not aesthetically pleasing. can i have some your stuff makeup please
Cosmetics should be thrown out every 3-6months unless you disinfect regularly. With this amount I highly doubt you have the time. That said, you shouldn't buy too much at a time.
A lot of the stuff I had was unused and I threw out most of the eye products because those have a shorter shelf life than lipsticks for instance, which can be kept opened for a few years :)
Literally nothing needs to be thrown out after 3-6 months except mascara lol
Francesca Galleri well there's also milk 😂 I agree most makeup lasts a good while
That's pretty disgusting if you keep it for a prolonged amount of time. Bacteria, dead skin cells, etc...do I need to say more??!!
Ross Johnson so cosmetic items come with a shelf life sticker. Some of those say 24 months.
Sorry I couldn't watch the video, your voice irritated me slightly.
