Our topic is what's new in user-defined Rest API polling. It should sound a little bit familiar if you've been coming to the Tech Talks kind of regularly this year.
We kind of talked about user-defined polling this summer and that was based on the functionality in Entuity version 20. The focus there was adding attributes to existing Entuity devices or creating custom, so, pulling in a new single device.
What was missing was the ability to look at subcomponents, right? In other words, a way to dig into more complicated devices and display or pull back data about those.
So with patch three of Entuity for version 20 this year, there was an additional release around Ras polling, which added a new attribute type for the pullers?
Instead of just being able to define an attribute for that one device, we could do a subcomponent.
That adds quite a wrinkle in what we could do here. The use cases were really around centralized controllers or management consoles... Continued.
