Me Vs IBM 😶🌫️: A middleware is an entity lives between tow or more different types of entities in a network or a system. It helps to unify communications between those different entities by controlling and reformatting data structure or type to be able to exchange ( serve or processing) data for exemple from xml to json then pass the requests to API of the receiver. Example: payment device in store send data in xml format, the middleware take this xml and transform it into json and send data to mongodb.. the API are just a simple interfaces act like entry point to our application. 😂 This is how I memorized the middleware role when we studied systems and applications architecture in university 14 years ago 😅
@@russmartinez7988 Think COBOL is dead? About 95 percent of ATM swipes use COBOL code, Reuters reported in April, and the 58-year-old language even powers 80 percent of in-person transactions. In fact, Reuters calculates that there’s still 220 billion lines of COBOL code currently being used in production today, and that every day, COBOL systems handle $3 trillion in commerce. Back in 2014, the prevalence of COBOL drew some concern from the trade newspaper American Banker.
@@cybernetic-ransomware1485 Do you think 3 trillion in sales happens everyday in the US alone? I don't know where his stats are from, but I wouldn't be surprised. COBOL developers are still highly sought after because there is a whole bunch of ageing COBOL codebases that are fundamental to a lot of businesses. They need people to maintain them. I wouldn't be surprised if one of those systems was card readers, considering how long electronic card readers have been around. Why fix something that isnt broken
If REST can consider to be a middleware, then can web framework such as Spring, Django potentially be sort of a middleware? Since they help us to handle logics other than business
REST is basically a way of communicating with middleware, not the middleware itself. A database is a middleware and and to place new data in the DB, you use a PUT. Similarly, you can use GET, POST, DELETE, etc.... Django, on the other hand, is a python framework for Web development.... I hope this helps....
@@jeffdoka1044i thanks for this information , are these middle ware technologies specific to languages like Java , python etc.. , if so can you please name some of Java related and other languages related middle ware technologies and their purpose..
This channel generally creates good content. However, this particular video is not very impressive. In Enterprise Systems, Middleware is much more than REST services. This seems to give a wrong idea about what actual middleware is! In my humble opinion, Middleware facilitates communication between two services that might have different schema and attributes.
I couldn’t hear my professor anymore so I came here and actually enjoyed it and also learned something. Thanks!

One of the best people out there who teach Technology related stuff

this was fun to watch and I finally have an idea on middleware
I'm seriously impressed with the way you're able to effortlessly write mirrored
Just flip the video as mirror for in video editing software
i was not able to concentrate on the subject due to this mirroring,

This is a great channel with great content. Keep it up!
Wonderful video made simple to understand thank you!!!
Good Explanation ..I learnt something in a simple manner..thanks
Loved the video thank you.
Well done Martin!
Thank you for the clar and cool explanation, I want to implement a middleware and I'm gathering data around
Great videos, thanks Martin.
Thank you IBM!
great explanation
can't like more👍👍👍
Thanks
Thank you 🙏
nice video thanks

I'm curious, did he write in reverse or is the video flipped horizontally?

Does a non programming background Data Analyst need to know these API programming?
I can't work out if he's actually writing backwards or there's a trick.
