Got the hatchback Titanium 180 BHP. Beats the old model in every department by at least 10%. Great looking car from all angles. Negatives - No longer the drivers car and fuel economy on this model 45 mpg at best
The Mondeo estate looks ever so much better on the outside than the Passat which is deliberately tedious,and full marks to the Ford for the interior which won't put the driver in a boredom induced Passat shaped coma.
They don't sell as well because they're too big. Also, state what you actually achieve economy wise, saying you'll get up to 70 mpg is misleading as they'll fall well short of this.
i agree I saw one here in the South of France for the first time today, way too big and long and the family thought it was ugly because of it, shame for me because I am a Ford fan, sorry Ford I don't think here this model will take off?
Americans crave this, Europeans hate the size.... Why cant they just ship this here.... Ill take a 2.0 awd Vignale estate w/ a 6 speed standard anyday!
andrei pop I actually bought a Mondeo hatch myself after comparing it to its main rivals in the class and I am really satisfied with my decision. Having a refined 180hp TDCi engine and a titanium trim level with a couple more extras such as navigation, electric seats, 18" alloy rims or parking camera for around EUR 25k is quite a steal. It's not as sharp as Mazda6 and doesn't have the more premium materials found in the Passat but I believe the new Mondeo is the more balanced choice in the class.
No the mondeo looks way better then the passat and i like ford i terior better then passat. And allways allways go for estate over sedan. Sedans look cheap and boring and less headroom in back and you cant fit tall things. For a familly a estate is allways better

I'll stick with my 1987 Ford Granada Scorpio.
Much worse fuel consumption from the 2.9 V6 petrol but it only cost me £600 to buy.

The Passat is terminally boring to look at though, he didnt mention the looks of the vehicle which imo are very nice

I think passat is an old guy car. I only see 60 + dudes in those. Mondeos are for younger people
I like the old Mondeo better.. I wish we had an all-new Mondeo instead of sharing it with the "Fusion"

I agree, this car is big, but too big is the Insignia Sports Tourer which clocks in at 4.9 metres whereas the Mondeo Estate is 4.8 metres
Plenty of leg room? :)) there are smaller cars that offer more than that.
He's quite tall, and the seat was put in a position that would be stable for a guy his size.
