Picked up the 900 the other day. It’s super comfortable, nice big warm and boomy sound that’s really fun and good for immersive gaming, and has good battery life and the dock is a little wonky but works fine. Great product.
Hey I just got the 900 hx max and it’s really quiet I need help with EQ settings on Dolby please! I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find any good settings. I don’t want to return them if I’m doing something wrong
I have the RIG 500 Esports Variant, and Ive been using it for almost 7 years now. They still work, and Im in love with their sound and durability and lightweight and breathability during summer
i love their game audios but their mics are so trash. i have one with the dolby but mic is awful unless i have it like touching my lips and it sucks!! but man the in game audio with that dolby audio is awesome do they still have that on all of them? to be fair mine is the cheapest rigs they sell
I had the rig 800 lx for the Xbox one x and it was incredible, but it had no low end, it was as if there was no bass. The directional sound in the rig was the best I have ever experienced positionally in game
I just bought the Rig 900 max hx. I was skeptical but I am really impressed. I returned the blackshark hyperspeed and the turtle beach stealth pro and I am happy with RIG. Great bass and after tuning good mids. I can pick out footsteps easily. The headphones are lightweight even though they look like they would be heavy. The mobile app let's you customize eq without a pc as well as update the headphones without a pc. The headphones is 5.2 Bluetooth and states 50 hours of use when charged. They aren't bad
I still use my Plantronics RIG headset. I know the sound quality isn’t that great, but I have tried SO MANY headsets and headphones from all different price points, and NOTHING comes close to the comfort of these things!
The 800s are what really started me down the path of being an audio junkie. The things they do well, they do very well. Extremely lightweight and very comfortable. Excellent range on the wireless. But like you said, they get super muddled when the game gets busy. Almost no low end either, which is really disappointing.
I had gotten a free pair of the 800's about a year ago and loved them. The plastic felt cheaper than the spoon Wendy's gives you with a Frosty, but the sound was great, especially with the built-in Dolby on Xbox (which was included automatically and didn't need a code or purchase). I wouldn't be opposed to getting one of the new ones.
In 2017 i purchased the Plantronics - RIG 800LX SE Wireless Gaming Headset. I play call of duty and i cannot explain it, but everything sounds better on this headset, even when compared to arctis 9x. Sounds and voice comms are clear and not muffled, unlike the more expensive competitors. Wonder if the 900 is an improvement over the 800.
imo the fact they haven't changed a perfectly working, modular, spare-part fixable design is just a good thing. my _old_ plantronics rig 500HD's are still rocking and they are so comfortable they have ruined most headsets for me, because i can wear them whole day without any fatigue. i forget they're there. I just bought corsair hs80 but they are just way too tight for all day use and my head isn't that huge, i think i'm going to return them even though they sound great and have a fantastic microphone. Too bad the 900's aren't available here in europe.
Love my 900 HX Max, most comfortable headset ever, more comfy than nova 7x. Charging stand is also great. Wonder how maxwell is gonna sound.I will compare when it gets delivered tomorrow.
Hi I already own the audeze Maxwell and the rig 900 hx max and the JBL 910p and the JBL 910p takes them these rigs sound a little too muddy I play on PS5 only and JBL 910p wins for immersion and sound they have a button for 3daudio it's mind blowing awesome also you can use them wired I've been using them with the arc amp dac for my PS5 and they sound awesome try them you will thank me later stay safe and happy gaming
I decided to buy the RIG 700 Pro HX several months ago because Amazon had a lightning deal selling these for only $65 dollars brand new, and while they can't come close to my SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7x, Corsair HS75 XB, or the HyperX CloudX Stinger Core... You can't beat the RIG 700 Pro HX for the price i paid. However I will not buy another RIG headset unless they really make some changes.
I currently own a set of rig 800 4my Xbox series X. Before I give you my opinion let me go down the list of headsets I've had over the years. Turtle Beach X4, X41s, Px5s, XO seven Pros MLG edition, Razor Kaira and Kaira Pros. Now... the only issues I've really ever had with these pass headsets was the earcups being too small and the comfort of the headband pressing down on my head. I game with the hat on because of that with these headsets it seems to help a little bit but I was crossed between the steelseries and the rigs due to how the elastic top headband seem to sell me. So I opted in for the rig 800 due to one of my buddies already having a pair and the only really gripe I have about it is that I wish they had it had some sound presets you can change on the fly with the push of the button like the Kairas. The charging port for the charge station was sub C instead of the old style. Yes it doesn't have any earcup swivel but that never really seemed to be an issue for me even wearing my glasses. Once you tweak the Dolby you can get really good bass out of them I always seem to have issues with certain headsets sounding muddy especially playing Gears of War 5.
I bought some stealth 600 max gen2 arctic camos used from GameStop in January and yesterday they started sttic when id mute myself. Just went to game stop for a return exchange they gave me some rig 800 pro for xbox. So far so good
Have the 800 LX currently and I really enjoy it. Currently researching potentially getting a new headset, but haven't decided what I'm gonna to with yet. Looking in the $120-150 range, want Xbox/PS5/Switch compatibility, USB C charging, hidable mic are my biggest priorities
Great review brother. Glad I found ya out. I got the 600 hx as gift and they are very, very comfortable. However, if youre here your considering these headphones. The 600 hx barley fit me. Just, but barley. I wear a size 8 fitted. So if you got a bigger head than me. Consider something else.
The no full swivel i can understand the con there, but it all goes into the durability and thats majority of why i go RIG. My rigs have lasted 6 year and i just got the 800 hx yesterday due to my battery only lasting about 3-4 hours after over a half decade. The ear piece popping is so ut doesnt break when smushed under your buttox. The wire even unplugs from each ear piece to prevent tearing. Even high end headphones are fragile asf and i refuse to switch up for said reason alone. LOVE RIG

Used to own a pair of planteonics gamescom 788 and they were miles ahead of the usual gaming stuff, mine and my friends all ended up breaking at the headband in the same way though

As someone with the headset who thought it would be a gimmick. It’s absolutely incredible. I did some demo vids for it and it was like being in a Dolby cinema. Playing games like COD made me realize how overpowered it is since I can hear exactly where the other players are running. And they’re super super light, easily 1/2 the weight (or feel weight) of my last razed headphones.

I have 800s and i wanted to upgrade to the 900s simply because my microphone portion stopped working. I have the first generation of 800s (or whatver generation before they started doing the headset dock to charge it) and i had mine for about 2 years (a little under) before the microphone went out. The headset still works phenomally and i just use my PS5 controller mic or computer mic. Either way i love rigs durability and how they fit my big head. Edit: Also, I'm really loud. So pointing the mic to and away isnt really an issue.
Your take on sound quality has totally turned me off to RIG since I have Bose refurb earbuds and once you hear the good stuff, it's hard going back to cheap quality that was "okay" for the price. These 900s are not cheap so it's a pass for me. Thank for your honest review.

First of headsets were the rig 400 used at gamestop and never switched brands. Went to 500s then 700s. Only game ibplay is rainbow six seige and they do the job for directional pinpoint of sound in 3 dimensions. I recently bought SteelSeries nova pros and regret it sound is not as precise for $200 sets

I got the rig 600 when they were on sell for $80. I love hyperx but id get turtlebeach over the 600 for gaming. 600 mic is meh and my ears touch the driver. Have to adjust every while. 600 not worth it unless on sell cheap for beginners or a cheap reliable backup. I got it cuz they came with a dong and Bluetooth 😐

I've almost ordered these (the 900s) a few times this past week, but the no swivel thing turns me off. I've tried other headsets that don't swivel that just don't feel right, so I fear these would have that same issue.

I got a rig 600 for the ps5 and I can say what an improvement, light weight and sound amazing plus mic is one of the best I’ve had in a while

If I'm not mistaken RIG sold off first to Poly, then to Nacon. I've been a HUGE fan of there headsets, and still use them quite a bit to this day.

The Dolby made the headset even better
