why are the blackhawks covering him? hes almost gone until they make a last minute trade to get the #1 pick
That would take a large amount of assets to move up to number 1. Doubt it will happen
The same reason the Sharks and 15 other teams interviewed and covered Bedard. You want to see the qualities of a player that could be special, and use that when you interview other prospects in the future.

Sharks are drafting him. They have a billboard that says "Come CELEBrate at the tank." Their GM has eluded to drafting Jim countless times and even been in contact with his parents about next steps.

I’m kinda glad! He’s 2-4 years from being NHL ready. I saw him play for the Steel! I live and used to play at Fox Valley ice arena. Sharks aren’t getting a Bedard! He’s really good but don’t expect that! He’s not ready to play the man’s game yet
