i purchased 2 of the OT gravel bikes. Liked the first one so much, decided to sell my very epensive Merida Reacto Rival and convert a second OT to a road bike. ridden both of mine hundreds of miles. brakes are wonky for sure, and if you ride a lot of hills definitely worth swapping out. I will state, the LTWOO groupset have been a solid choice!!! excellent performance on mine. one change i do recommend, and i cannot take credit for this one, i credit Trace Velo, replace the cable housing and make it one long continuous housing all the way from right shifter to barrel adjuster on the rear derailleur. Dirt, mud, sand will tend to accumulate around the bare part of the cable (under right rear chain stay) making shifting less responsive. its worth the $6 purchase from amazon to do that.
I was thinking of just doing the pads but wanted to give these a shot. Thankfully if I decide to put the original brake calipers back on it'll be very easy to do.
I have used the Zoom X-tech brakes on the same bike I got 5 months ago. They are great. I have installed them on 3 other bike builds/restomods. Have used as an alternative to the TRP RD/RD version. The X-tech are comparable to TPR plus lighter and more clearance for tight rear frames.
Cool. I'm going to get one. Seems like a good bang for the buck. I haven't ridden a bicycle in over 30 years and if would be fun to work on. Good Show.
I will second that this is a great value for price. As always be careful with Walmart assembled bikes. The technicians mainly do something else at the store and aren't experts in bike assembly.
I’m waiting on these to arrive for my g1. I also just routed a nicer low compression jagwire rear brake cable and housing. Hoping that helps. My g1 the rear rotor was warped right off the bat.
That's my pride and joy

I just replaced the brake pads on my G.1, it got rid of the noise and improved the braking performance.

That's good to hear they are working well on your bikes! Hopefully I'll have the same luck!

For what you pay vs what you get so far its seemed to be a great value! Have fun once you get one and enjoy!

I think the addition of a new cable and housing will help with the pull on the rear brake. Good call. I hope it works out well for you!
How are they now, 2 months later? Have you considered switching to compression-less housing for your cables?
They still are working great. Admittedly I haven't been on my gravel bike much. Trainer mostly with a bit of MTB thrown in. But no issues as of yet.
What tires?
