NJFA's Backyard Forestry in 90 Minutes Program (December, 2023)

Everyone knows bark. It is the ‘stuff’ that covers trunks of trees and shrubs. It is also the ‘stuff’ only a few people seem to admire and even fewer really understand. However, if you take a moment to study various plants, you will notice the incredible variation in both texture and color of the bark from one plant to another. What makes bark so uniquely different, and in some cases, so incredibly attractive just begs for a closer look!
