Among the many sentient races living on this planet, including some of their lost cousins, was a species of talking rats. While all found their obsession with faintly glowing green rocks rather odd, a few in the group took interest in a new art form found among the rats called "flesh-crafting."

Now I’m imagining a hive world getting absolutely Demolished by a Dark Eldar raid, and the “winners” of the raiding party going home with the cream of the “harvest”, while those at the bottom of the pecking order (& Commoraghans who had debts to pay) being left behind on the planet with the unenviable job of immaculately recreating the pre-raid hive structures. Cut to 5yrs later, and the last of the builders hurriedly polishes off the top of the last hive spire before scrambling into his cloaked transport just as Inperial forces come to investigate.
I can't help but have this thought now of the two dark Eldar arguing over where to put a cup of coffee as the final finishing touch on the table as the recon group is literally right out side there door while a third is starting up the engine
They’d have to go through each individual sewer, each individual building, each individual housing unit and put everything in its proper place. And that’s not even mentioning the technology that needed to be replaced or even repaired, the variety of Servoskulls alone would’ve been a hassle to replace.
There is a story about how some Night Lords arrived at a planet to cause some terror, but were instead the ones terrorized. If i remember correctly, they went down to the planet, found no one, and then all of a sudden, everything went dark. Their eyes, their sensors, nothing could pierce the darkness. They were left like that for a little bit until it finally went away and the Night Lords high-tailed it out of there.
It’s worse then that. While in the total darkness the haemonculii attacked the night lords with hordes of mandrakes and wracks equipped with echolocation implants and technology. They literally took the night lords preferred tactic and subjected them to an improved version of it just to show off.
The Dark Eldar, the physical embodiment of the phrase, "If you are going to do something, go all out." Love the cleaned and completely empty hive city. That is SERIOUS dedication to screwing with someone. Thanks for the laugh

@@nerysghemor5781 I just finished the krieg book for the second time from what I can understand they understand that their world even in todays day and age must atone for their sins both of the past with the nuclear war of krieg and in todays age with the vitae wombs krieg only has a single export and it is bodies to war they breed humans/genetically clone and selectively breed traits into them which is extreme heresy thus to them their lives are only another resource to be used they don’t seek death persay but they know that is their ultimate fate and what they are created for so they do not fear it and are willing to sacrifice their life in the name of the smallest victory for their regiments and humanity as a whole ( also it’s not flat out stated what the wombs are and I won’t spoil the book but an inquisitor first came to krieg after the war and her report is extremely sealed which heavily points to the fact that whatever they do to produce the soldiers they do at the amount they do is best left unknown for they are a resource the imperium needs at all times and one that is not so easily replaced in the modern 40k age)

The haemonculus in question explicity states that it lied about being able to (or at least willing to) fix the Golden Throne right after reaching it; it simply wanted to bear witness in person to the greatest pain/torture engine that it could think of in the galaxy. If I remember correctly, the story is nowadays considered to be of questionable canon as it is quite old and describes many other really weird things.

Where do the Dark Eldar get most of the material resources? How do they get dark matter, exotic metals, special toxins, hell what fuels their vechiles?
Sometimes they purchase it from corrupt mon keigh and other alien races. Most often they just loot it. Reminds me of one of my favorite parts of Path of the Dark Eldar where the resurrected kabal lord looks at his treasure and has a moment of self refection where he gets depressed about how they have been reduced to a race of thieves.

There is a story of a eldar female, who was captured by the Homunuli. This eldar female was of the craftworld variety, bael'tan I think, and she was twisted to be...breedable....by the human to which she was sold. I don't know much of this story, but it does show that a Homunculi will deal with anyone, provided you can provide the bargain-piece they want.
Wasn't that hive that was left spotless and empty the one that had an armored vehicle left on top of a spire as the one single thing that was out of place in the entire hive and it had a single hand left on the steering mechanism?
I'm surprised that the homunculus clan hasn't gotten interested in the tyrannid simply because they can take centuries of evolution and do within hours, so would not be something intriguing to experiment with.
They have deep interest in tyrannids. They even stole the whole planet infested with tyrannid Hive Fleet from the realspace and placed it in the orbit of Commorragh in order to have inexhaustuble source of bio material.
What died in comorragh stays in comorragh, makes sense, the "place" is in the immaterium, i do believe the term "inbetween realm" , applies here, the veil between must be so thin it mixes. That might explain everthing that is done in there as well, maybe the dark eldar weave part of the warp in their construction material. just enough to give some interesting properties, and since is separated from the rest of the warp, and "bound" to natural law, or at least a type of it, it won't go crazy, at least not more than regular building material.
That's sort of Wraithbone... it's created with a combination of psychic abilities and machinery, so it is inherently a Warp material, yet also a stable one.

I was thinking, rock, sand, cement, modfied by the warp then fully integrated and stabilised, to say its machinary is to say something can mess with it, and no way the eldar would use a material when there is even a remote chance of it being hijacked in any way It ain't nanomachines son. i do believe is a supernatural material, like steel that is tampered in hellfire, to get supernatural caracteristics while still being reasonably steel.

I remember some story of a human being tortured and the haemonculi. It ends with the human seeing scratches in a line on his chair?flesh? representing each time he killed the guy and brought him back. Very vague memory, but a good story. Any help community?

There is a whisper doing the rounds in the Empyrion, a little piece of gossip among the un-aligned, or those so low the four ignore their very existence. The eternal sea is a big place after all, and the five do not explore beyond their realms. The story goes that a slaaneshi Keeper of Secrets, stumbled upon a haemonculi coven in the midst of some project or other, got trapped in flesh as a daemon host, got bound, and was forced to divulge some things it thought were .. Secret. To its eternal dismay, the haemonculi were infuriated and insulted, calling its Secrets prurient and common. They tortured it of course, but to a disciple of she who thirsts pain is just another experience, and not a novel one. When they were certain they knew all it could divulge, they somehow drained it and released it back to the sea. Or maybe it managed to escape somehow, depends on who you listen to. It is rumoured that, the brief time it spent among them, taught it much about the true heights of experience. To such a point it managed to rise in status.

Hey arch, I love your videos. I have a bit of a question for you. How would your average imperial Guardsmen be trained? I know Krieg has a bit of an all or nothing system, and I'm sure the cadians do aswell. But how would Joe Shmo from agri-world 23798 be trained to hold his rifle and shoot it? Would it look a lot like a modern boot camp? Would it be more like some other traditional training method? Who would be the officer's over seeing this? Would it be PDF or other Guard forces doing the training? Would specialization happen in initial training or in a separate process later?
Would love to hear about this too. And I kinda suspect it could vary wildly depending on the world of origin and its native culture and tech, not to mention the Commissars and what traditions THEY come from (and they always come from another world so as not to empathize too much with their charges). I have to think the training for feral worlders would differ from a world at our tech level, and even again for a hive city with the Imperium’s more “advanced” tech.

How does Dark Eldar resurrection work with respect to Slaneesh snatching up their souls upon their deaths? I thought they were claimed at the instant of death, but maybe Dark Eldar souls can zip around frantically in the warp for a time, trying to hide? During this fruitless attempt to evade the God they give the Haemonculi some, albeit limited, time to pull a resurrection candidate's soul back out of the warp before it is eaten? Or maybe their souls are snatched immediately upon death and resurrected Dark Eldar are soulless...seeing how Dark Eldar don't possess very much of a soul the difference between a souled and unsouled Dark Eldar might not be very much at all - providing the ressurection process somehow bypasses the whole 'soul dead' husk thing. One of those two things? Something else? Or have the technicalities of what happens to the soul between death and resurrection just not been touched upon?
Nope Slaneesh munches of their soul forever. In the Path of the Eldar books Slaneesh uses a crone world to force some eldar souls to relive the last day of their life for eternity.

Weren't they called covens instead, unless the name has changed? Speaking of the soul coaxing and that demon-possessed lord, I think it was the main focus of the characters (at least some of them, to revive said powerful lord from days before the cabals to try overthrow vect) in the "path of dark eldar" trilogy (path of renegade/incubus/archon, as ordered), it was a good read alongside the tie-in "midnight on the street of knives" short story :P There's also the "path of eldar" counterpart too (path of warrior/seer/outcast).
Hem hem..... Let me remind the hive mind of a part of the plot of Path of the Dark Eldar. An imbecile trying to one-up Vect goes to Sha-Dom to get some of the body of The Tyrant of Sha-Dom, who had died in a demon breach of the realm (that vect engineered). One of the things he also gets is the still-living head of a handmaiden that somehow did not die of demon attention. And the skull of the tyrant ofc. Now the funny part: the body was ridiculously easy to bring back, but the soul of the tyrant was demon tainted. So were all the Drukhari in the same regeneration room as him. One of those tainted was an Archon of a Kabal, whose demon taint got him killed by his own Incubus bodyguard.
Arch, you are my favourite, and I stand under correction, but I do believe the pronunciation of Commorragh is supposed to reflect the pronunciation of Gommorragh from the Bible. Which is usually pronounced Go-mo-rah, forgive my poor phonetic transliteration skills.

I loved the story with the haemonculi that went to Terra to attempt healing the emperor.

Friend gave me his dark eldar army and slowly building it from 1500 points to 2k. Plan to make a mad scientist army and this video is perfect motivation

Where do the Dark Eldar get most of the material resources? How do they get dark matter, exotic metals, special toxins, hell what fuels their vechiles?
Sometimes they purchase it from corrupt mon keigh and other alien races. Most often they just loot it. Reminds me of one of my favorite parts of Path of the Dark Eldar where the resurrected kabal lord looks at his treasure and has a moment of self refection where he gets depressed about how they have been reduced to a race of thieves.

@@franciscoruiThey have slave run factories in lower commorragh that produce it. I don't know how the machines work, but the eldar just keep them powered up and dark matter pops out. Another excuse the writers use is "it was old tech from the eldar empire which was stored in the webway".

There is a story of a eldar female, who was captured by the Homunuli. This eldar female was of the craftworld variety, bael'tan I think, and she was twisted to be...breedable....by the human to which she was sold. I don't know much of this story, but it does show that a Homunculi will deal with anyone, provided you can provide the bargain-piece they want.

I'm surprised that the homunculus clan hasn't gotten interested in the tyrannid simply because they can take centuries of evolution and do within hours, so would not be something intriguing to experiment with.
They have deep interest in tyrannids. They even stole the whole planet infested with tyrannid Hive Fleet from the realspace and placed it in the orbit of Commorragh in order to have inexhaustuble source of bio material.

What died in comorragh stays in comorragh, makes sense, the "place" is in the immaterium, i do believe the term "inbetween realm" , applies here, the veil between must be so thin it mixes. That might explain everthing that is done in there as well, maybe the dark eldar weave part of the warp in their construction material. just enough to give some interesting properties, and since is separated from the rest of the warp, and "bound" to natural law, or at least a type of it, it won't go crazy, at least not more than regular building material.
That's sort of Wraithbone... it's created with a combination of psychic abilities and machinery, so it is inherently a Warp material, yet also a stable one.

I was thinking, rock, sand, cement, modfied by the warp then fully integrated and stabilised, to say its machinary is to say something can mess with it, and no way the eldar would use a material when there is even a remote chance of it being hijacked in any way

i do believe is a supernatural material, like steel that is tampered in hellfire, to get supernatural caracteristics while still being reasonably steel.

There is a whisper doing the rounds in the Empyrion, a little piece of gossip among the un-aligned, or those so low the four ignore their very existence. The eternal sea is a big place after all, and the five do not explore beyond their realms.
The story goes that a slaaneshi Keeper of Secrets, stumbled upon a haemonculi coven in the midst of some project or other, got trapped in flesh as a daemon host, got bound, and was forced to divulge some things it thought were .. Secret.
To its eternal dismay, the haemonculi were infuriated and insulted, calling its Secrets prurient and common.
They tortured it of course, but to a disciple of she who thirsts pain is just another experience, and not a novel one.
When they were certain they knew all it could divulge, they somehow drained it and released it back to the sea.
Or maybe it managed to escape somehow, depends on who you listen to.
It is rumoured that, the brief time it spent among them, taught it much about the true heights of experience.
To such a point it managed to rise in status.

As far as I know the exorcists aren't just loyalists but invisible to daemons, so probably not.
Depends on which version of their lore you go with. The current version seems to lean in that direction anyway I would say.

Hey arch, I love your videos. I have a bit of a question for you. How would your average imperial Guardsmen be trained? I know Krieg has a bit of an all or nothing system, and I'm sure the cadians do aswell. But how would Joe Shmo from agri-world 23798 be trained to hold his rifle and shoot it? Would it look a lot like a modern boot camp? Would it be more like some other traditional training method? Who would be the officer's over seeing this? Would it be PDF or other Guard forces doing the training? Would specialization happen in initial training or in a separate process later?
Would love to hear about this too. And I kinda suspect it could vary wildly depending on the world of origin and its native culture and tech, not to mention the Commissars and what traditions THEY come from (and they always come from another world so as not to empathize too much with their charges). I have to think the training for feral worlders would differ from a world at our tech level, and even again for a hive city with the Imperium’s more “advanced” tech.

In The Big Dakka, there’s a male wych who ascended to succubus and upon doing so, had a haemonculus turn them in to a full anatomically correct female. Since their flesh craft is basically magic, the process succeeded.

The singular to Homunculi is HOMUNCULUS.
How does Dark Eldar resurrection work with respect to Slaneesh snatching up their souls upon their deaths? I thought they were claimed at the instant of death, but maybe Dark Eldar souls can zip around frantically in the warp for a time, trying to hide? During this fruitless attempt to evade the God they give the Haemonculi some, albeit limited, time to pull a resurrection candidate's soul back out of the warp before it is eaten?
Or maybe their souls are snatched immediately upon death and resurrected Dark Eldar are soulless...seeing how Dark Eldar don't possess very much of a soul the difference between a souled and unsouled Dark Eldar might not be very much at all - providing the ressurection process somehow bypasses the whole 'soul dead' husk thing.
One of those two things? Something else? Or have the technicalities of what happens to the soul between death and resurrection just not been touched upon?

Weren't they called covens instead, unless the name has changed? Speaking of the soul coaxing and that demon-possessed lord, I think it was the main focus of the characters (at least some of them, to revive said powerful lord from days before the cabals to try overthrow vect) in the "path of dark eldar" trilogy (path of renegade/incubus/archon, as ordered), it was a good read alongside the tie-in "midnight on the street of knives" short story :P There's also the "path of eldar" counterpart too (path of warrior/seer/outcast).

Hem hem..... Let me remind the hive mind of a part of the plot of Path of the Dark Eldar. An imbecile trying to one-up Vect goes to Sha-Dom to get some of the body of The Tyrant of Sha-Dom, who had died in a demon breach of the realm (that vect engineered). One of the things he also gets is the still-living head of a handmaiden that somehow did not die of demon attention. And the skull of the tyrant ofc. Now the funny part: the body was ridiculously easy to bring back, but the soul of the tyrant was demon tainted. So were all the Drukhari in the same regeneration room as him. One of those tainted was an Archon of a Kabal, whose demon taint got him killed by his own Incubus bodyguard.
