I got nicked putting on a rave back in 89, the old bill drove my van to the police station with my stash in it without knowing, and it was still there when I got the van back. Great times 🙂😉

But indeed in 1988 House arrived from Chicago, Techno from Detroit, Acid from London (after it was also imported one or two years earlier from Chicago, UK is between USA and European continent
This was just before my time, I'm 33, my babysitter at the time was in to all this.. that's how I got in to it, and then a 10 year love affair with drugs and house music began..
so far they were the best times of my life......in the pub & goin to the phone box to find out where the meeting point was & then hundreds of ravers all waiting to get on one & listening out for that booming base to try & find where the party was.....lol
Some really good tunes here. How frequent in those days were acid records were the synth sound climbed higher and higher, as in Josh Wink's "Higher State of Consciousness?" I always hear alot of 303's in the records of that period, but very rarely that particular effect.

It was called acid house due to the early producers thinking the sound produced by the Roland 303 made the music burn through you like acid. .. . .they name just stuck to anything with a 303 sound in it and then got tagged to the general scene.
yeah you're right about that. Teenagers these days are mostly a waste of space. But just because you cant find music you like today, that doesn't mean good music doesn't exist. There are many talented people hidden away out there.

I went to some clubs in 88 and the only drug available was Aceed.I remember one club night in Sollihull a was in a club of about 300 and "my mate" done 250 blotters,that 75% of the club were tripping.lol.Mental.and we had more than one night like that.
