@@Iamthedoctor10 I always thought that Future Trunks was partly inspired by Kyle Reese from Terminator, because I think the time travel concept was inspired by it! I think the androids and Cell were partly inspired by the machines in the apocalyptic Terminator timeline from the film series, particularly the androids because I think Toriyama added his own twist for Cell, as he's more of an artificial life form! Although you could argue that the same is at least partially true about 17 and 18 though not 16 who seems like a mostly positive depiction of that! Remember, Doctor Gero was part of the Red Ribbon army and in the original Dragonball you had Major Metallitron! He was a blatant callback to Arnie's Terminator and I think Toriyama continued that trend with concepts like time travel and the fact that Future Trunks's struggles seemed similar to Reese's with the whole 'young man time travelling from apocalyptic future involving machines' narrative! Plus, unlike the Doctor from Doctor Who, Trunks is only half alien though there could be a connection in some way!

No both times the bad guy got hit and tanked it. It certainly did more to vegeta then Freeza. I honestly would have liked it if Goku worked a bit whit that Technic. He could have learned to charge it while fighting, or use it like here to power himselfe up, instead of using it in one blast.

It was my first introduction to Anime of any kind and l loved it. Took me years to catch up just to understand where this movie fit in the timeline. Great reaction.

I absolutely love this abridged movie, torn between this and the Brolly movie for my favorite. The scene where he just erased Goten was so damn funny and inspired. Also love all the callbacks to the rest of the series throughout like with Goku's whistling.

Not related to TFS but Super Android 13 was the first thing I ever saw of DBZ in Japanese. I ordered some bootleg fandubs of Movie 7, 8, 10, and SSJ2 Goku v Vegeta back in 1999 on VHS. So Movie 7 always has kind of a special place in my memory even if it's generic dbz. Oh, but the 3 super saiyans transformating is a pretty awesome scene

Not related to TFS but Super Android 13 was the first thing I ever saw of DBZ in Japanese. I ordered some bootleg fandubs of Movie 7, 8, 10, and SSJ2 Goku v Vegeta back in 1999 on VHS. So Movie 7 always has kind of a special place in my memory even if it's generic dbz.
