Not only is her torso not long, it’s actually really short. Not a judgement, just a fact. She’ll say anything to prove a point. The truthfulness of that statement is unimportant to her
It's not that her torso is long, it's that it has a huge circumference which makes the tops short on her. Such a fashionista as her should be able to realize that, but I'm leaning more and more towards that she has some body dysmorphia and actually doesn't realize how big she is. Or she's just Mariana trench deep in denial
As a knitter, historic costumer, and someone that dabbles with making my own clothes and developing my own sense of fasion, I have a LOT to say here, and I honestly think the "seamstress" in the comments is either uneducated on fashion, or I have a gut instinct may not actually be a seamstress at all with the comment they left. First, not all body types will "look more hourglass" with a top that hits at the waist (which these don't, for the record... they hit at the high hip or the low waist, which is typically not the narrowest point on an hourglass figure... something I'm well familiar with because I have one.) People with a more apple shape will generally look larger with something that cuts them in the middle because that's their widest point. For people with a more triangle shape, cropped at the waist can result in making you look topheavy. For people who are more pear shaped, like Anna, it can put a lot of visual weight on everything that falls bellow the waist, resulting in making their heaviest portion of the body look even heavier. So nothing this so-called seamstress says is actually accurate unless you have a genuine hourglass to begin with, or you just don't have significant curves, resulting in a "straight" or "boyish" body type, which can help develp the idea of curves where none exist. However, you want those things to be fitted at the waist, not this boxy cut she's got going on here, which can completely eliminate an hourglass shape on someone who has one. My next peeve, while, yes, these would be considered a normal length for sewn garments, and not "cropped," in sweaters, this is considered "cropped." Many sweaters I've bought or purchased patterns for with a similar length are listed as "cropped" because it's the exact opposite of "cozy" which is what people associate with sweaters. And I'm sorry, but when the models lifted their arms it came too close to belly exposure for me, which means it's not "professional" or "work appropriate attire" either. That takes an already limited use item and limits it even more because they can't even be busted out in the office without something under to ensure no skin is exposed. Finally, long legs AND a long torso? So... basically what you're saying is you've got normal proportions, but you're tall. "Long legs" are considered long because they are disproportionately long when compared to the length of the torso. I have long legs and a short torso, so therefore, I have long legs. A long torso comes when the torso is out of proportion to the legs making it longer, so long torso will, by default, come with short legs. If everything is "long" the result is you're just tall, or your arms are disproportionately short compared to your body, which seems to most often happen with people who also have short legs, so I'm guessing those two genetically go hand in hand. So... tell me again how she's got a long torso? And wasn't she saying in an earlier video how she's "short waisted?" Which would imply she has a short torso... I don't know... This feels like a whole lot of back tracking because the company isn't happy with the performance of the line. I'm guessing she was selling them on her huge audience base, and the amount of interaction she was getting, and they don't like the reception. My guess is this is going to be the end of it. Sorry for the novel, but I have so much to say...
Really appreciate your input, gave me more insight into the construction of the clothes. Annas performance vs subscriber count is extremely suspicious and im surprised that companies still work with her theres no way they get a return on their investment with her
They are what I call “boxy.” Which looks cute on younger, fairly thin women. On plus size or muscular/wide shouldered ladies, it is not flattering. In my opinion only.
For a sweater, in many knitting patterns, this would be considered "cropped" as most sweaters are designed for warmth and generally are designed to fit longer, at least a couple inches below the belt on a mid to low rise jean. This is because sweaters are often designed to be cozy. Additionally, sweaters that I have personally purchased that fall about where these do are advertized by retailers as "cropped" sweaters, and a lot of vintage inspired sweaters, even though they are basically all this length, at least where I shop, are considered "cropped." I guess the disconnect here is this isn't a "crop top" in the sense of the belly shirts and things that people think of when they hear the term, but they are shorter than the average sweater length, so the term fits, whether Anna likes it or not.
22:34 this is how Anna views her relationship with her audience. She’s just cute girl doing something brave, and people are cruel and mean for FUN. When in reality, she is an educated and upwardly mobile middle aged woman, who routinely employees deception in order to trick her audience into buying things. Not really the same thing
17:54 as someone who lives in a cold climate most of the year, there's no point in a short/cropped/extra tight sweater. Sweaters are supposed to be big and cozy and cover everything to KEEP IT WARM!
Someone in Colin Mockery's comment section compared the 5X dimensions to the average US size dimensions and said the 5X is closer to a 3X. These sort of size discrepancies happen frequently in women's clothing, especially if the designers are in Asia where there's still a massively unhealthy view on what size women should be, so it checks out and may explain why the clothing isn't the correct size. But I haven't double checked it myself so could be wrong.
Hi - as plus-sized stylist, let me wade in here, I have a LOT to say. (Also hi, first time responding to your videos) I'm also European, so probably have a slightly different take on styling anyway, but I did live 6 year in the USA so I think I have a bit of a grip on both sides of the Atlantic! Firstly let's talk about cropped vs short. These sweaters (I'll use American English here!) are not cropped. Cropped is a properly defined style and design choice. These sweaters would not fit into that category. typically a cropped length would hit just under the bust line at the highest point of the waist. These sweaters hit much lower than that (except on Anna, I'll come to that in a moment) in fact they hit at exactly the point which would be a red flag to me if I was trying to style this on someone. For the most part the sweaters on these ladies all hit on the upper hip and at the fullest part of the stomach which is the exact spot you don't want the top and bottom pieces meet. If these sweaters were actually designed as cropped sweaters they would actually look much better on everyone, because it would be a design decision and could be styled with bottom pieces to suit. If they were about another 10-14cm longer on each one, they would hit on a more flattering line. If not wanting to make them longer, they could have been made with more shape in them, creating a slightly nipped waist, would have helped them also as they do look a bit shapeless and boxy and I suspect after a couple of wears and washes they will begin to bag out even more. Let's talk about tunics. A Tunic is another particular design choice and there is a big difference between a correctly lengthed and fitted top and a tunic, which typically falls at the mid-thigh length and can look great on almost all body types, especially taller women. It seems that Anna is seeing only 'cropped' and 'tunic' as the length options available in women's tops. Let's talk about the usefulness of this video. I agree with you that this is a step in the right direction, but the tone of it is very much that Anna is right and now she's proven it so we can all just go away (she doesn't really want to hear from anyone, despite what she says!). What would have been far more useful would to be the same sweater on each lady, a measurement guide, and a high street size comparison, by which I mean "This is [name] she is wearing a size medium and she typically wears a size 10-12 in clothes" Something like that would have give the viewers something concrete to go on. So whilst it's nice and good to see the sweaters on different sized women, it doesn't quite address the issues that people have highlighted. Lastly let me pick up on Anna body-size claims, The key thing here to note is that Anna does not have a long torso. In my opinion, watching her videos for many years, I would say that she actually has a regular to slightly shorter torso measurement. Her height is from her legs. The reason she has convinced herself that her torso measurement is outside of industry standard is so that when she does try-on hauls and things don't fit, she can claim it is not to do with the size of her stomach, but actually that the length is not right for her, I have seen her claim this on many try-ons, which is simply not true. Of course that fact that she buys things too small doesn't help either, if she were to buy the correct sizes then it would become clear very quickly that her torso measurement would fit within the normal range for clothing. It's also not really possible to have long legs and a long torso, those kind of cancel each other out, it's one or the other because otherwise that person would be perfectly proportioned, just taller than average. The long torso claim here is to avoid the obvious and create a reason why the sweaters look shorter on her. It is nothing to do with her torso length and everything to do with the poor sizing of the sweaters, Anna's insistence on wearing the wrong size and her actual waist measurement. One other thing that stood out to me was the size claims. In a typical try-on video Anna usually claims to be a size 2X (I am a little unsure on American measurements, but let's go with it for now). If she is a 2X and the lovely lady in this video was sized at a 2X, the maths here is not working, because she is significantly smaller than Anna, so by definition Anna cannot be a 2X. Of course in knitted fabrics that have a bit of stretch to them, as opposed to woven fabric, which does not, there is a little more flexibility, but there is stretch and there is streeeeeetch! I suspect that Anna is wearing the 3X or even 4X and would not want to share that publicly, which is why everyone's sizing is kept vague in this video. I don't mean any of this to body-shame Anna, I too am plus-sized and so are most of the people I have worked with on their style journeys. I would actually love to style Anna, she is a pretty woman and with a bit of knowledge could actually dress really well and get comments for all the right reasons. Let me end with a positive. I think the designs are good, I like them, they're typically not something I would choose for myself, but as a stylist it's not always about that. I like the colour ways used in the sweaters, they are a little different for a typical 'ugly sweater' and that's good. I also think the designs are quite fun, especially the Llama's and the cat with the santa hat. I have way more to say but it's probably time to shut up, if you got this far, well done!
That’s a good observation about her not knowing fabric, style, etc. She so WANTS to be an authority on something, anything….but she doesn’t do the work to be the authority.
It's a "journey "! Haha just like her surgery "journey " reminds me of her book, how she's a "perfectionist " that's laughable. I think I broke my quote button
I’ve never heard her say “biased cuts look great on you if you have XXXXX kind of body because XXXXX”. Nope it’s just video after video of “This looks great!” “This doesn’t fit” “I know it doesn’t look great but I love this color!”🙄 PS I kinda want a few plus sized women to throw Anna’s sweaters all over the floor and complain that she fat phobic because her sizes only go up to a 2x. 😁
@@dimplesd8931 Like that green jumpsuit she wears in the Starbuck's Wicked video. The pleats on the front are pulled so tight you can't even tell they are there unless you really look. And all of those romper type outfits always go into her leg creases in the front because they are too stretched.
24:34 yeah, this isn’t helpful at all. The models should each say something like “I’m kate! I normally wear a M but I sized up to a L because I like baggy sweaters” “my name is ashley I normally wear a 3x and this fits true to size!”
Cropped, shipping costs or crazy colors, nothing is killing the sales worse than Anna being the main model.on the websites. She constantly wears everything too small and is just a terrible model.
I've been morbidly obese and I'm 5lbs away from a healthy BMI now and I've noticed the heavier you are, the shorter shirts will be on you. You fill it out more, have more area to cover with the same amount of fabric.
Big girls dont want crop sweaters. We dont want our stomachs being accented further. And why do the sweaters all fit oddly on all the models. Mabey the sweaters are just really boxy, but none seems to really fit well.
I’m not but I’m almost 60 and a regular/standard size (whatever it’s called). I hate short sweaters and shirts because they look stupid on me. I’m not trying to look like granny but I’m not trying to look 21, either.
The thing is, educating me about how the sweater I’m looking at isn’t too short, when I can see that it’s not what I personally want, isn’t gonna make me buy the sweater. I agree- if people tend to want a more oversized sweater generally, then maybe you should have gone with what would sell and not what SHE tends to like, which apparently is skin tight. I can tell you right now, a skin tight sweater in Texas, where I am, is a heck to the no.
Anna made them all crops because she has no torso and no waist which means that anything regular length doesn’t work on her. Crops are simply not popular in the wintertime. None of them cover the crutch. And I noticed at least one model trying to cover that area with her hands. Buy that sweater in January and I suspect it’ll be marked down. That black is too harsh a dark blue or green would have been better. Other than that, the colours and patterns are not offensive. I’d be interested to know what fabric they are made out of. I can tell you they would not sell well in retail. I have a background as a retail fashion consultant for 30 years with a background in garment construction
This reeks of cash grab. With your experience you know retail is hard, especially if you don’t have a clear brand vision, are meeting the needs of a unmet niche market, or are a brand “Kardashian, JLo, Beyoncé” It would’ve been better for her to work with Fashion to Figure or Eloqui.
It's interesting seeing the tops on other women, because it's apparent that the largest size is still too small for Anna. In her own clothing line! Insane!
I bought a set of the PJs on Walmart since they have free shipping and I was ok spending the $35 to see what they were like in person. According to the size chart, I ordered a 3x. I've recently lost a little weight but I'm still 5'5 and i weigh 269. The 3x were so ridiculously large my family laughed at me. I returned them and got a size 1x and they fit much better. Still loose and not a tight fit like the way they look on Anna. The top is shorter than I would like, the pants don't have pockets, you can't put them in the dryer, and the stitching on the elastic waistband makes them not as stretchy and comfortable as I would have liked. None of the models on the website say which size they are wearing so it's hard to guage how it will fit. I will say, the fabric is soft and the colors are bright and festive. I wrote a review a few days ago but it hasn't posted on the website.
@@TinyBlueAnthropologist Nope, you have to lay them flat to dry. I really enjoy your content! Just started following and watching a few weeks ago. I appreciate your views and videos!
She does NOT have a long torso!! These sweaters still look short on the models...and what was that all about with her saying for ppl not to come at the models, they are just normal ppl doing something "brave". Who would come after the models!?? She paints her audience to be ruthless. That's totally projection on her part!
The unfortunate thing with Anna’s clothing hall quality is back in her older videos, like pre-book and living in New York, she had better commentary about the clothes. She discussed fabric quality, the cut of the pieces, the construction quality, etc. and seemed more transparent about admitting if she needed a bigger size. That’s why I initially followed her then. Over time her haul commentary has gotten so superficial. I don’t know if it’s because many are sponsored now or she doesn’t care to put in the effort, but it didn’t used to be this way. At least from my memory.
Yeah, I get that as well. Nowadays her comments are superficial and regarding “feels”, like her complaints about some misalignment triggering her “type A” or whatever. I wonder if she sized out of most well fitting, well made clothes…
That kind of engagement with the audience is smart, she would of made things her audience actually wants and they would sell alot better seeing as the audience would have some feeling of ownership in the project and would want to support it just for that. But we are talking anna. Way too many steps. I bet her input was mostly a paycheck no matter what she says. It's a "journey " aka she learns after the mistakes
The problem is she designed these clothes only thinking about what she likes. It should show Anna’s style but also appeal to people that don’t dress like her. There’s no reason she couldn’t have a mix of cropped and tunic length sweaters. She didn’t think about the customers. She’s also the worst model for these because she always wears things in the wrong size so they look terrible on her. Even on the models, the sweaters are shorter than a regular sweater.
And also the sizing dimensions. I bet they are similar to a print on demand company where they have set styles and shaped and the only thing that can be changed are the images and a few things like add glitter
I think it's 100% Jollidays telling her "Hey, you need to get out there, respond to criticism and promote your product or we're going to have to pull the line". She did say "fingers crossed" about continuing to manufacture more product. If it was just something Anna was doing on her own, she would get annoyed, feel personally insulted and either ignore it or put out a snarky passive-aggressive video short like she did with the bagels or about how she works out.
21:37 she could have said “I’m so thankful to these fans of the line who helped me show how these sweaters can fit on different people, let’s give these girls some love in the comments!” And it would have been so much more positive and not weird
These “models” are wearing bigger sizes to prove they are fitted properly. Also their “favorite holiday moment” is giving introduce yourself to the rest of the class🥴
Just check the material content of the sweater and if it's acrylic or polyester don't buy it. I'd make an exception for some fiber blends like Modal (artificial silk)+wool, or a poly cotton, Polly -rayon. Cotton and angora. Stuff like that. But nothing acrylic because those fibers get stuck in my nose and throat, probably sitting in my lungs 🫁. Polyester on it's own attracts static charge and is overall "ick" probably bad for you.
In the UK most sweaters and cardigans like these Christmas designs go just past your butt so they completely cover your butt but only just. Because it’s winter and cold people want the long length so you don’t get cold air around your tummy. I guess most of the US especially the North would want the same thing?
I live in NE Ohio, very close to Canada. I can't even say I'd wear this in the fall since it could be too warm for the nice days, and too short for the cold days unless I wear something underneath...it gets below freezing during the winter so no way in hell would I wear it outside as an actual sweater. I suppose it could work, I guess cropped sweaters are a common thing, but for $45 and with these prints??? Regardless of if they're meant to be hideous, I can get a hideous sweater at Walmart for $15. I can't imagine spending $45 plus shipping for one item I can only wear around the holidays and it's meant to look awful (but doesn't go over the top with it which is what ugly sweaters are meant to do!) People are struggling to pay for groceries and basic necessities...I get Anna needs to continue to make money but this is kind of a horrible time to launch an expensive, niche clothing line.
Not Anna being forced to confront the reality that no garment, “true to size” or not, will perfectly fit every body… 😮 I can’t imagine she’s been too pleased about needing to enlist other models to show how the garments fit on bodies that aren’t hers. Which is wild, but here we are.
I honestly think she is just white labeling something so all she had a say on was the specific patterns that were probably already printed. She just picked her favorites.
Needed an Anna vid tbh, having a bad week (that election and kitty is heading for the rainbow bridge soon). Just needed a long vid to watch and not think. Edit: thanks everyone, he's 19, he's lived a long time and is ready to go I think. Just waiting on the in-home vet appointment. Hugs to everyone who has experienced this too, it sucks.
I know that the brand Anna is working with isn't as established or equipped as the larger clothing companies, but I am friends with someone who does legitimate athletic clothing designs (t-shirts, sweatshirts, athleisure, that sort of thing) and clothing brands have what are called "fit models," who are specifically hired for measurements to fit particular requirements, and are very up-front about what their measurements are. Anna seems to have gathered a group of women with varying sizes, which is fine, but to have more thought put into how sizes work on different measurements, employing fit models would be the thing to do, and her clothing. brand partner should have suggested that (up-front, honestly, but after the push back, absolutely). It just all feels very cheap and fly-by-night, which doesn't really inspire all that much confidence.
I love these comments. Got a genuine laugh out loud. Similar thoughts where formulating in my brain but you totally nailed it. Thanks for the entertainment
These are not practical anywhere with proper cold, snowy winters. I don't care if my belly gets exposed summer time, but during winter time the last thing I want is invite the chill in.
The sweaters are so much shorter on Anna because they have to go around all of her belly and back fat which raises the length. if she wore the correct size it would drape over her belly and back instead of clinging to it. she's wearing a "body con" sweater instead of a boxy fit with positive ease.
A huge mistake to go with a cheap company that uses cheap materials and poor sizing and fitting. I would pay $100 for a quality sweater that will last me 5-10 years than $45 for a piece of crap.
😂 I just made this comment too. I couldn't agree more! Might as well cough up the extra cash and buy something made out of real wool if you're dropping 45 dollars before tax and shipping.
I think Anna has confused having a long rise (approximately the distance around your body through the legs from navel to the small of the back) with having a long torso. They can create similar problems in clothing but are clearly different.
I have a long torso. Swimsuits are very hard to buy because I don't want to wear bikinis, it was especially hard as a kid since bikinis were flat out not an option but one piece suits would either be too short or too big in my chest area. Tanktinis are what I go to now. I believe Anna's found a few one piece swimsuits that fit? Which isn't proof she doesn't have a long torso but with the added difficulty of being morbidly obese, if I'm remembering that correctly it does make me wonder.
Hope you’re feeling better! Anna loves wearing her tops “cropped” so she didn’t take into account what other people would like. She also could have given a 10% off to her news letter subscribers. The sleeves on all the models are too long!! 😴😴😴
Any website that is truthfully size inclusive has multiple models in three to five sizes with their height, weight, and size wearing listed. That is what Anna needed to do. That is what I wish all websites would do!
So weird to me that she didn’t go up to a size that fits her. That set is waaaay too tight. It’s like screen printed marshmallow. If I got a jogger or pj set that fit like this, I’d send it back and order a couple of sizes up. Super unflattering and it makes the clothes look cheap.
When i 1st saw these sweaters, i thought; "i can buy a cheap, tacky xmas sweater at Walmart for probably 25$"...is she now going to compete with the cheaper Walmart sweaters!? Most ppl will just buy the cheaper version. U can see by one of the models that the sweater looks washed and outstretched...not a good quality sweater😴
If she used her data analysis and marketing background to convince Jollydays to go against customer research and/or the market’s common knowledge to make the line this way, that’s a great reason to try to “educate” her audience as to why she’s right.
She should’ve had someone else model the clothing… she could’ve been in ONE OR TWO pictures.. but the way she wears her clothes she didn’t tempt people to buy them
Notice how Target wants nothing to do with Anna and her clothing line 😂 maybe she should have thought about that before she posted her drunken rampage in there store
Here in the uk ,the supermarkets have some really nice Christmas/holiday celebration jumpers and P.J. sets ,they are a fraction of the price of the ones Anna is schillin.
So, I see most of the plus size comments are that they want longer cardigans. Contrary to what FAs say, most plus sized women don’t want to walk around in crop tops and/or tight ill-fitted clothes. They want to be comfortable and confident. Anna should realize that most plus sized or women her own size don’t walk around in clothes that don’t fit. They are not like her: forcing oneself into an 3X, when obviously needing a 6X. No shade but all the shade. 🙂↔️
Body/bodies/bahhhhhdy doesn't even feel like a real word anymore. You mentioning "Are we going to the morgue?" and pointing out the way that people are being talked about like objects are spot on. ETA: I'm also a member of the long torso/stubby legs club. I call it the ferret body type.
This is a total guess but my suspicion is that her contract with Jolidays (probably not spelled right) might have metrics that have to be met before they will consider further projects
Anna did not have any input into the length or design of these pieces. If you look at their website, most of their sweaters look practically identical. She may have chosen which pieces she wanted to claim for "her" line but i seriously doubt she had much control over anything else 😊
Yeah I thought Anna was a tall giant? I thought she was like 5 ft 10 in or 5 ft 11 in? The women all look pretty comparable to Anna in height. I don’t think Anna is as tall as she says she is or all the women are tall.
I wholly agree that she doesn't OWE anyone an explanation, and it's just comment sense not to tell people when you're vulnerable or away from home, but, yeah, just don't talk about it. When you lie, THAT'S when you get crap from things.
Anna has a big belly, that torso is being measured by the start of the crotch to rhe top of the clavicle bone on the shoulder. The chest size and the belly size will create the "length" which is why some top heavy girlies will need to suze up while wearing smaller pant sizes.
Why doesn’t she say women with different figures? I HATE the way she says “baaady”😵💫Anna’s clothes never fit. Ever. They are always too small. That’s why they all look cropped on her.
The sweaters arent selling . Anna would never go out of her way to address comments from her audience. The sweaters aren't selling and the they look cropped comments are overwhelming she had no choice . She does not have a long torso but she is tall says the lady ( me😂) with a long torso and short legs stop gaslighting me Anna 😂. I wonder if the sweater company insisted she address it ? The wildest part of this is that the clothing she is selling doesn't come in her size .
Knowing Anna I'm guessing she told Jolly that she would do the advertising and did the first one her way with no input. Which IMO was the wrong way BTW.
I can solve the torso mystery :Think about trying on 1 piece swimsuit and say being pregnant you’re now taking a lot of fabric to cover that bump both length wise as the a bump is longer than a flat stomach and width wise - now think about Anna’s shape: she is in denial about her size for one thing she’s always ordering things 2 if not 3 sizes smaller than ideal, 2. When they cut clothing they don’t factor in irregularities from a typical frame unless you’re buying maternity which she doesn’t buy-3. Anna is not just plus she stores her fat as if she was pregnant easily 8 months pregnant if you were to take her tummy and put it on a straight sized person most would say she’s having a baby or 2 very soon. Anna looks very pregnant and has looked pregnant for over a decade but is still buying clothing that doesn’t account for it. If you don’t believe me look at the videos of her sitting on the ground when she was working out in nyc or anytime the camera show her from the side - it’s a clear additional ~20 inches right below her waist just like when carrying a full term child.
Right it’s all about the cut and where you wear your weight if it’s up front or an apron belly maternity wear and empire waist things are a great options.
22:01 Anna says this because the models introduced afterwards are notably smaller than her, and HAES and Fat Acceptance are well-known for dunking over mid-size women (small fats) for being able to fit clothes while the most obese women (like Anna or Tess) can't, ergo having "skinny privilege".
What I absolutely do not understand is how as a plus size influencer you launch clothes that are only made of synthetic materials. I understand it's a cost issue but she should have options that are made of cotton. Those of us who are plus usually gets hot, but there are other problems such as environmental issues etc. It’s also f impossible to see where the clothes are made or the price of shipping outside of U.S. Aside from the fact that I never would buy clothing from Anna because she is… well Anna and the fact that I hate the design, I would die of a heat stroke in two seconds. And I live in Sweden 🐻❄️
I feel like these are all 'square' or 'box' cut which is like the in between of a t-shirt and crop top. Also it seems that rather than adjust the shape, hem and length for straight and plus size, they just took one design and made it bigger as they went. Plus usually straight and plus are split into sub categories like tall, curvy, etc and that way it's more catered. I understand this isn't always possible with collabs and time specific releases but at the very least she could have had a straight size fit and a plus fit where the shape is different to be more flattering based on each groups preferences.
I’ve said since day one that she should’ve had inclusive models on the website instead of just her body…for someone all about body positivity that was such a mistake to make
The line might not be selling because it came out in October well before both Halloween and Thanksgiving during one of the hottest Falls ever. She's modeling sweaters while in Texas. That's like modeling bathing suits in January at Lake Michigan. We're all fluffy and it's cold. Fun Fact: in the industry, this season's merch is actually *done* 9 month prior unless it's this fast fashion stuff.
Anna definitely does not have a long torso. I do and can tell the difference. Also, those wreaths look suspiciously oval instead of round, which to me, she's using a filter to make her look thinner.
No, she's not, at least not the type that affects background. Look at all the bulbs on those wreaths: They are perfect spheres. But she might be using a filter that can isolate a person and not affect the background, though she still looks pretty big. And her claim of short torso is beyond absurd.
If they're sold on Amazon, clothing often has height and weight and size measurements on comments and also says in the description if people think it's true to size or you need to get a smaller or larger size. Also some people do very useful videos showing the items on themselves and talking about how it fits, how it feels, etc. depending on whether you like tighter fit or very loose oversize fit. They also often have size charts indicating what size the manufacturer thinks matches what measurements.
WHY wouldn't she include the LENGTH and CHEST measurement in the GARMENT SPECS on the site??? OR INCLUDE a SIZE GUIDE (which would include those measurements)??? 🇺🇲
Anna doesn't address that all of the garments are, like, 100% polyester, so... I mean, a) what could she possibly say about it? b) it's not the best fiber for either sweaters (not warm) or loungewear (not breathing), so better not to bring attention to it, I guess. on the other note, I actually was looking for a cropped sweater this season, because I wanted to wear it with dress pants, and I have a VERY short torso and pretty wide hips, so it's either a full-on oversize to accommodate for the hips or a crop so it doesn't come close to the hips, and it's the same with pretty much all of my tops
Her explanation of why the sweaters are too short is irritating. You do not need to tell people - as if they're stupid - that clothes fit differently on differently shaped bodies. When I check out other retailers' sweaters online, they do not have this issue, they do not have to rationalize or justify their sizing, their garments don't look too short whether I select a medium or 2X. After seeing the different sized models, I'm more than ever convinced her sweaters are just short.
I think Anna is among those who confuse torso length with the total distance between the top and bottom of the torso as measured along the surface of the body/skin…
I sure find it kinda strange some would complain clothing size doesnt go to some arbitrary number XL. because at some point they are just demanding sizes that dont exist on humans, that simply arent capable to be achieved by humans because its simply so much fat the human body would give up far before reaching that size, so idk do they wanna use an ugly sweater as a blanket for their horse or something.
Oh my God, has it been a week… It’s been a very disheartening and disappointing week. Thank you for the hour long video! It’ll be nice to have something to watch.
i think another factor in the covering the butt thing anna's commenters are saying is specifically where they might be wearing these sweaters. Many workplaces or religious spaces require butts to be covered if someone wants to wear leggings. So buyers might be wanting a cute but comfortable outfit to wear; anna's sweaters fit that, but not the additional "modesty" part I think her audience members might be adhering to.
I was going to comment on her video. I even saved what I was going to say but it's Anna, I can't waste my time on her 😂 so here's what I started with: The young women did great. No mention of their height though. No information available as to where these are made. "Imported" tells me nothing. I'm all about safe business practices for factory workers, especially in Asia. I hope these weren't made in sweatshops 😢 I generally like some cotton in my winter sweaters. And I don't think people are wanting you to make tunics, just "normal" length sweaters. This seems like a cash grab to me. All synthetic at a price point that's a bit much imho. Now I'm going to put my earbuds in and watch your video.
I like the cat sweater because I have a flamepoint kitty that looks like that, but also I am poor… I think Anna wears things as tight as she can manage and just doesn’t understand how most people like their clothes to fit.
Anna’s inability to admit to herself that the reason clothes don’t sit right on her is because she’s too wide rather than too long/tall 🙄🤦🏻♀️
I don't care what's in or not but I feel like I'm not the only millennial tired of everything being cropped.
I know right 🥲 I hate the feeling of draft on my lower back, can't stand crop tops
Being tall and having a long back is the worst for crops.
I wear t-shirts under some of my clothes. It helps with the unwanted drafts.
I wear tanks under them but yes the crop trend should cease. 😑
I thought it was bad here -then I went to Brazil! 😂😂😂
Starting this with you saying “it’s a 6 minute video” and looking to see this video is over an hour is low key hilarious 😅😂
I'm here for it. Haha
@@RextheDragon881same, it was very welcomed right now
How can Ana have both long legs and a long torso? Wouldn't that just make her evenly proportioned?
It’s such an Anna thing to say too. Anyone else would have a friend to tell them how silly they sounded.
Exactly . She thinks her torso is long simply because she gets tops that are 3 sizes too small.
Not only is her torso not long, it’s actually really short. Not a judgement, just a fact. She’ll say anything to prove a point. The truthfulness of that statement is unimportant to her
@@ndnmstrmnd Good point.
“Not the right length for the target audience” you nailed it, enough said.
I liked the novel, I love hearing lots of detail from people who know what they're talking about!
@@kxs7267same here!
I agree that this is the most unflattering length. I don't buy anything that length unless I am going to tuck it. It looks awful.
Yes! Thank you for the info. I agree. I’m an hour glass shape, short girl, and these would be extremely unflattering on me.
Really appreciate your input, gave me more insight into the construction of the clothes. Annas performance vs subscriber count is extremely suspicious and im surprised that companies still work with her theres no way they get a return on their investment with her
Let's face it they're too long to be crops, too short to be cozy.
Yea.... as a dude I'm not an expert in these matters but the pints look cozy mode and they don't fit like that
Yes!! Great comment!! So true!!!💯
Additionally, sweaters that I have personally purchased that fall about where these do are advertized by retailers as "cropped" sweaters, and a lot of vintage inspired sweaters, even though they are basically all this length, at least where I shop, are considered "cropped."
I guess the disconnect here is this isn't a "crop top" in the sense of the belly shirts and things that people think of when they hear the term, but they are shorter than the average sweater length, so the term fits, whether Anna likes it or not.
22:34 this is how Anna views her relationship with her audience. She’s just cute girl doing something brave, and people are cruel and mean for FUN. When in reality, she is an educated and upwardly mobile middle aged woman, who routinely employees deception in order to trick her audience into buying things. Not really the same thing
exactly
I think Anna wears everything so tight and no one was buying anything.
She thinks all her fans and haters want to dress like preschoolers too. Ugh.
@@magdlynstrouble2036tbh preschoolers nowadays dress better/more grown up than Anna
17:54 as someone who lives in a cold climate most of the year, there's no point in a short/cropped/extra tight sweater. Sweaters are supposed to be big and cozy and cover everything to KEEP IT WARM!
I went to high school with a girl whose grandmother knitted her a stomach warmer for when she biked to school
Exactly. You supposed to be able to layer. Why wpuod anyone want clothes so tight you can see the outline of Your woman bits
She thinks she has a long torso because all of her tops come up short on her. She hasn't figured out they're short because they're the wrong size.
Right? The length is getting pulled along the wrong plane my gorl, put on the right size and that won't happen.
Yes!! 🙌🏻 Torso size is measured on the back, no? Abdominal pannus size does not equal torso size 🤦🏻♀️
It's not the length, it's the circumference 😅
In the pic where Anna is standing next to the woman wearing a 2x it’s obvious she doesn’t wear a 3x
that or she shouldn’t be wearing a 3x… would be just uncomfortably snug
Yes!!! She lokkede huge ´next to these women!! I was shocked how huge she looked
@@PointsofData If that is the case here, then wouldn't Anna would need to size up to ~7X instead of sizing down to the 3X she claims to be wearing?
Lol. Actually pretty informative thank you!
This is really great information
Loved your insight and comments!
Exactly 💯
Yes!!! Anna has some real issues with "competitiveness" and being an authoritative figure, and "number one!" It's odd.
I think it would have been so much better if Anna just said "I designed the sweater that I wanted to wear. I hope y'all want to wear it too."
She went from "if you don't like my stuff, unsuscribe!" to "please, give me feedback while you buy my stuff!"
Congratulations!
That makes sense.

Yup!!! I noticed that when I lost weight. Good work!

I think they only looked cropped because Anna's belly is so big and she was wearing her incorrect size
Damn, sales must be pretty dismal to make a follow up video for all the complaints on her sweater line lol
Least we forget, she isn't fat, she doesn't have fat. She is just inflamed 🙃
Nice added info from someone in the field! Thanks!
The fabrics ate nasty acrylics from what I saw
You can't put it in the dryer?
@@TinyBlueAnthropologist Nope, you have to lay them flat to dry.

She does NOT have a long torso!! These sweaters still look short on the models...and what was that all about with her saying for ppl not to come at the models, they are just normal ppl doing something "brave". Who would come after the models!?? She paints her audience to be ruthless. That's totally projection on her part!

@@wuggybuttz3923I think u are right, but I think it goes a step further where she wants ppl to THINK she fears her audience...
Anna is NOT “totally cool” with feedback! She is trying to cover the Big Mad!
The passive aggressive is strong.
Exactly this!
Having her newsletter help design the merch or even vote on things would been a brilliant use of her news letter. That's what a lot of creators do
That kind of engagement with the audience is smart, she would of made things her audience actually wants and they would sell alot better seeing as the audience would have some feeling of ownership in the project and would want to support it just for that.
Anna should have started simple with basic patterns that could coordinate with multiple outfits.
Basic builds a brand.
Jollidays has non-Anna sweaters on Walmart and Amazon that are similarly priced so I imagine they set the prices.
And also the sizing dimensions. I bet they are similar to a print on demand company where they have set styles and shaped and the only thing that can be changed are the images and a few things like add glitter
@ I just took a quick look but it seemed like their other stuff only went to 3x. I could be wrong though.
Exactly!
Yes! The ones sleeves were down past her hands 😂
It would make sense
Yeah, most of us in New England prefer long, "oversized" sweaters. Not crop sweaters.
Definitely
Yeah they probably showed her a bunch of designs and she picked her favorites

Cheap and fly by night... sounds perfect for her brand
Anna's proof of size/measurements is reminiscent of the "studies" she shared in her self help book
"I made those numbers up."

20:00 Anna’s sweater colors are giving baby bop from Barney
A huge mistake to go with a cheap company that uses cheap materials and poor sizing and fitting.
I would pay $100 for a quality sweater that will last me 5-10 years than $45 for a piece of crap.
😂 I just made this comment too. I couldn't agree more! Might as well cough up the extra cash and buy something made out of real wool if you're dropping 45 dollars before tax and shipping.
Me too. But clearly from recent Shein comments the HAES community doesn't see it that way
I think Anna has confused having a long rise (approximately the distance around your body through the legs from navel to the small of the back) with having a long torso. They can create similar problems in clothing but are clearly different.
Good point!
I agree, the problem is that she’s wearing a 3X and that’s the biggest size!! 🤣
Screenprinted marshmellow🤣 True tho, it’s uncomfortable-looking
When i 1st saw these sweaters, i thought; "i can buy a cheap, tacky xmas sweater at Walmart for probably 25$"...is she now going to compete with the cheaper Walmart sweaters!? Most ppl will just buy the cheaper version. U can see by one of the models that the sweater looks washed and outstretched...not a good quality sweater😴
I will forever laugh at “5’12” instead of 6 ft but only bc I love you and your videos
0:39 "Not sponsored" Boy oh boy, I live for the day when you _are_ sponsored by Big Slime 😂
Not all of us plus size ladies (me especially), don’t want to showcase our fupa….. I cannot wear anything that doesn’t cover it….
Here in the uk ,the
supermarkets have some really nice Christmas/holiday celebration jumpers and P.J. sets ,they are a fraction of the price of the ones Anna is schillin.
Sainsbury's is my go-to! Happy to discover some other Brits who follow this channel!
I call it the ferret body type.
ferret body type! lol love it!
This is a total guess but my suspicion is that her contract with Jolidays (probably not spelled right) might have metrics that have to be met before they will consider further projects
Oh, 100%
Totally agree
Anna did not have any input into the length or design of these pieces. If you look at their website, most of their sweaters look practically identical. She may have chosen which pieces she wanted to claim for "her" line but i seriously doubt she had much control over anything else 😊
Makes sense. She's such a clown.
If she had no control she wouldn't be so defensive of the short tops.
I don’t know if it’s just the way she has them standing with her but they all “look” a similar height to Anna.
They’re that short to cut costs
This!!
I AGREE. Whatever they added to the width was subtracted from the length
If you don’t believe me look at the videos of her sitting on the ground when she was working out in nyc or anytime the camera show her from the side - it’s a clear additional ~20 inches right below her waist just like when carrying a full term child.
her wiast is over 24". That's the width of the salon chair she was in.
I'm a uk 22 and have to buy that size in maternity so it looks decent.
An ADDITIONAL 20 to what it typically would be. A 24 inch waist is the standard model waist size.
Right it’s all about the cut and where you wear your weight if it’s up front or an apron belly maternity wear and empire waist things are a great options.
@@TinyBlueAnthropologistThat's 24 inches in diameter, therefore at least twice that in circumference.
I’ve said since day one that she should’ve had inclusive models on the website instead of just her body…for someone all about body positivity that was such a mistake to make
She wanted to be the star
All thats being said is "I" which is probably part of the problem. She needs to focus on what the consumers are wanting.
Anna just proved when she modeled her sweater they were not her size
It wont fit her well, but you could pull it over a refridgerator just fine lol
Honestly I think it was just cheaper to go with the crop. But I don't think many want to pay that price for less material.
Omg ikr call the girls MODELS not BODIES it's weird good call Tiny Blue
Anna definitely does not have a long torso. I do and can tell the difference. Also, those wreaths look suspiciously oval instead of round, which to me, she's using a filter to make her look thinner.
I didn't notice that
Yes! I was thinking the same!😂
No, she's not, at least not the type that affects background.
No size chart on the Amazon storefront that I could find and no reviews yet for her sweaters
Yes. I love checking comments for women buying something who are my size and weight.
Shipping is about $11 on Amazon. Way too much.
Oh my God, has it been a week… It’s been a very disheartening and disappointing week. Thank you for the hour long video! It’ll be nice to have something to watch.
Awful week. It was nice to have this distraction. 💙
@@purrbugaloo🫂💙
It sure has been. 💙
i think another factor in the covering the butt thing anna's commenters are saying is specifically where they might be wearing these sweaters. Many workplaces or religious spaces require butts to be covered if someone wants to wear leggings. So buyers might be wanting a cute but comfortable outfit to wear; anna's sweaters fit that, but not the additional "modesty" part I think her audience members might be adhering to.
They’re way too wide. Definitely going to ride up even if you size up
I was going to comment on her video. I even saved what I was going to say but it's Anna, I can't waste my time on her 😂 so here's what I started with:
The young women did great. No mention of their height though.
No information available as to where these are made. "Imported" tells me nothing. I'm all about safe business practices for factory workers, especially in Asia. I hope these weren't made in sweatshops 😢
I generally like some cotton in my winter sweaters. And I don't think people are wanting you to make tunics, just "normal" length sweaters.
This seems like a cash grab to me. All synthetic at a price point that's a bit much imho.
Now I'm going to put my earbuds in and watch your video.
According to the Amazon storefront, made in China - 92% Acrylic, 6% Polyester, 2% Metallic, Exclusive of Decoration
The song 'Bodies' by Drowning Pool is now stuck in my head.
I like the cat sweater because I have a flamepoint kitty that looks like that, but also I am poor…
I think Anna wears things as tight as she can manage and just doesn’t understand how most people like their clothes to fit.
Totally fine to not splurge on these sweaters. They aren't worth the price. I bet you could find a cute Kitty sweater in the thrift shops.
@ I love thrifting! Might do just that…
Anna giving Vicky Pollard vibes, "Yeah but no but yeah..."
edit: this is just going off the video title. I haven't watched it yet.
i get that reference
Love Vicky Pollard!!😂
Omg 😂😂😂
